Il Vicolo, in Livingston, is a popular dining spot for when you crave authentic Italian cuisine crafted with passion served in a warm and charming atmosphere. The melanzane torino eggplant layered with mozzarella and roasted red peppers in pesto sauce and the fried balsamic calamari in a tangy reduction make excellent starters. Some of Il Vicolo's specialty entrées include the pollo danzis chicken with pears and cranberries in a sherry wine sauce, the pan seared filet mignon with gorgonzola and walnuts in a brandy cream sauce and the king crab-stuffed gamberi shrimp in a spicy caper sauce. Pasta dishes, such as the ravioli basilico stuffed with ricotta and pecorino cheeses in a tomato basil sauce and the farfalle Angelo with sausage, peas and mushrooms in pink sauce, are also popular with diners.
For dessert, enjoy Il Vicolo's banana sundae in a white chocolate shell, atop milk chocolate sauce.
THIS RESTAURANT WAS CLOSED DESPITE OUR RESERVATION THRU OPEN TABLE (and other people as well) AND APPEARS To be OUT OF BUSINESS.
Always enjoy the food. Will accommodate any requests.
Excellent service. Food mediocre. Much better during past visits. Complimentary appetizer plate of olives and cheese... Looked picked over.
lights that kept dimming, lots of misspellings on menu, ordinary food; service was friendly and attentive though.
they have a very large menu with daily specials. We have dined at this restaurant numerous times, and always enjoyed the food and service.
Excellent food, lovely place & attentive service.
This is a great neighborhood restaurant. We have dinner here frequently. They have an extensive menu and the food is always delicious. The service is very attentive.
My husband and I found ourselves with the opportunity to enjoy a lunch out last week and were lucky enough to have chosen Il Vicolo for our meal. The menu choices were varied and included some specials. Our meals included a soup or salad as well. The prices were very reasonable for the amount of food included in our meals. The service was prompt, efficient and friendly. We will definitely be back soon!
Both the food and service are outstanding. The portions are large. They have an extensive menu with numerous daily specials. They are very accommodating with substitutions.
This restaurant closed, Very, very sad! After being in business in Livingston for over 20 year Il Vicollo is gone with no note on the door. The place is completely empty. You will be missed.
I thought the food was being flown in from Italy it was so authentic and spot on! Loved that the dishes were warmed and the food was HOT, not luke warm which ruins it. These are real Italian chefs serving up amazing cuisine! I have already recommended it and will certainly go back!
Food is delicious and service is very attentive. They have a large menu with many daily specials.
While my table was at 7:30 and we got there 7:25, they were full and we had to wait for 15 minutes. Nobody seemed to care.
As long as you're not in a rush, great place. Food was tasty just not as hot as typically received. Would go back. BYOB, didn't rush us - nice menu options.
This has always been a great menu , tasty food and wonderful service. Very welcoming...
