IL Vicinato is immersed in the Heart of Chicago’s Little Italy Neighborhood. This authentic piece of Italy is a hidden gem that has passionately created dishes from old world recipes for 40 years. Appetizers are a great start with such favorites as twice Baked Clams, Red Roasted Peppers, and Grilled Octopus. Our signature dishes include Homemade Veal Ravioli’s, Chicken Vesuvio, and Steak Rinaldo that will make your dining experience an event to remember. If you save room, choose from one of our delectable desserts! We have daily specials; some created and named after customers. Our welcoming atmosphere and family orientated staff will make you a “regular.” Customers come from city and suburbs alike to dine with us. Corporate events welcomed. Dishes are plentiful and accompanied by an extensive wine list and full bar. Great stop before United Center, U.S. Cell and Soldier Field. My husband and I found this place over 30 years ago when we lived in Chicago. Now we try to eat there when we are in the city. Food is great, very casual home feel.

Really good experience overall, I would definitely come back. Service was outstanding. Food was good : 3 stars, could have been a little more if the polenta wasn't a little cold in the middle and overall a little too firm.

Great Little Italy destination. The bread service is generous and delicious. Eggplant Parm is baked unbreaded and the sauce is zesty.

Only downside, was unable to use my $10 rewards card because they did not have the ability to take off my iPhone (they said I needed a hardcopy even though OpenTable said iPhone was an acceptable option).

A wonderful meal. Started with a bottle of valpolicella (magnificent), had the escargot appetizer and a truly terrific shrimp appetizer. My companion ordered the filet of veal, which was extraordinary. I chose the veal marsala, flavorful and hot. Service was exemplary. We shall return again soon.

Il Vicinato has been a family favorite for decades. If you enjoy Italian food, a warm friendly atmosphere and service, you won't go wrong here. They have a great menu of standard Italian dinners and there is always a long list of chef's specials on the wall every day. Seafood, chicken , sausage and vegetarian dishes are featured. Just the thought of the veal parm and bread pudding are making my mouth water.

Always consistently excellent Italian food and bread. A real gem in Chicago's old "Little Italy" neighborhood. Our waiter, Ben, is the best. Going there again next weekend. Have been going for years!

Food was delicious I had the lobster ravioli with Alfredo sauce, bacon, and scallions. The service was great, my one dilemma was the salt level of the meat, they were big juicy and cooked just right but missing seasoning. Other than that I would come back to dine there anytime.

This authentic neighborhood gem is located in a tiny Italian neighborhood around 24th and Western. It is friendly, utterly unpretentious, cozy, and the food is very good basic Italian. The veal filet I had was the best veal I've ever had, done simply with white wine and rosemary. Their pastas are fresh and the wine list is a mix of American and Italian, all well-priced. Definitely worth the twenty minute drive from downtown Chicago.

This small section of the city where the old school Italian restaurants are is often overlooked. We went for a family birthday. I changed the reservation count several times and they still ready and waiting for us. The food and service was great.
