Fantastic food and service. Best italian food around! Been eating there for 40 yesrs and its just as good now as it was 40 years ago!
My husband and I found this place over 30 years ago when we lived in Chicago. Now we try to eat there when we are in the city. Food is great, very casual home feel.
Glad to have this place in my neighborhood. Good food, service, and old world charm. Definitely stop in for some baked ziti!
Really good experience overall, I would definitely come back. Service was outstanding. Food was good : 3 stars, could have been a little more if the polenta wasn't a little cold in the middle and overall a little too firm.
Delicious...love there twice baked claims and all the pastas are yummy!!!!
Great Little Italy destination. The bread service is generous and delicious. Eggplant Parm is baked unbreaded and the sauce is zesty.
Only downside, was unable to use my $10 rewards card because they did not have the ability to take off my iPhone (they said I needed a hardcopy even though OpenTable said iPhone was an acceptable option).
A wonderful meal. Started with a bottle of valpolicella (magnificent), had the escargot appetizer and a truly terrific shrimp appetizer. My companion ordered the filet of veal, which was extraordinary. I chose the veal marsala, flavorful and hot. Service was exemplary. We shall return again soon.
It was a great dinner at a little neighborhood place. We really enjoyed the food and the the ambiance. It is family-owned and the service was great!
Il Vicinato has been a family favorite for decades. If you enjoy Italian food, a warm friendly atmosphere and service, you won't go wrong here. They have a great menu of standard Italian dinners and there is always a long list of chef's specials on the wall every day. Seafood, chicken , sausage and vegetarian dishes are featured. Just the thought of the veal parm and bread pudding are making my mouth water.
Ben was great, so was the food!!
Great Place, Great Service, Great Time. This says it all!!!
Great veal & manicotti. Pasta was a little dry. But They brought us more sauce. Excellent service.
Minestrone soup was excellent. Cavatelli sausage and red peppers outstanding. Great tasting sausage. Cavatelli perfect consistency.
Delicious ricotta cake!!
Always consistently excellent Italian food and bread. A real gem in Chicago's old "Little Italy" neighborhood. Our waiter, Ben, is the best. Going there again next weekend. Have been going for years!
It's simple. they have THE best Chicken Vesuvio in the city and we have tried over 25 Italian restaurants. nothing else comes close.
We always have an amazing meal here. The dishes are creative and unique. The staff tries to please and make sure your meal is just the way you like it. Our favorite restaurant !
Fabulous food and service, as usual!
Love it! My favorite Italian restauran
Food was delicious I had the lobster ravioli with Alfredo sauce, bacon, and scallions. The service was great, my one dilemma was the salt level of the meat, they were big juicy and cooked just right but missing seasoning. Other than that I would come back to dine there anytime.
Wonderful service. Delicious food.
Classic italian, great service as always. The specials are always excellent.
As always a nice place to dine. Good Italian Food.
The pasta was great. All of the dishes were pleasing to the eye. The deserts we selected were very good. I will return just to have the deserts and the appetizers.
Wonderful veal and great pastas. The service friendly & attentive.
Amazing! As always! The best Italian food and the staff is always great! Thanks for a great dinner!
Very friendly staff
Chicken vesuvio was to die for
Local place with amazing food. We go there as potential as possible... and we live an hour away!
We love going here when we're in Chicago. Their dinner menu is very dependable and their specials have never disappointed.
We love this restaurant. The dishes change with the seasons. Their food is creative and delicious. Our favorite is the twice baked clams.
Great neighborhood authentic Italian food. Beautiful classic restaurant .
This authentic neighborhood gem is located in a tiny Italian neighborhood around 24th and Western. It is friendly, utterly unpretentious, cozy, and the food is very good basic Italian. The veal filet I had was the best veal I've ever had, done simply with white wine and rosemary. Their pastas are fresh and the wine list is a mix of American and Italian, all well-priced. Definitely worth the twenty minute drive from downtown Chicago.
The beat Egplant Parmigan I have ever had.
This small section of the city where the old school Italian restaurants are is often overlooked. We went for a family birthday. I changed the reservation count several times and they still ready and waiting for us. The food and service was great.
Ben was great as usual. Restaurant is always accommodating to whatever request we have.
Excellent old Little Italy establishment. Service was outstanding. My wife had pasta special with spinach and mushrooms in oil and garlic. Yum. I had the eggplant parm which was prepared un-breaded and grilled. Very good. Healthy (read huge) bread service. Waiter very informative and extremely personable. We'll be back, thank you.
A solid choice for Italian food in the far western Italian Village neighborhood. Casual, comfortable, easy street parking + valet. Reasonable wine list, daily specials & attentive service.
One of my favorite spots in all of Little Italy, Il Vicinato never fails to disappoint.
It was very noisy in the restaurant but the was most gracious and accommodating in reseating us outside.
Service was excellent. Food was delicious.
Been coming here for over 25 years. It never disappoints.
