Just had my birthday party and service was amazing. Food was very tasty and Peter (owner) really goes out of his way to make sure you are enjoying everything.
The lamb ragu was disappointing. The lamb was tough and the meat was cut into pieces that were too large. This Italian place would last two seconds on the west side. Will not be returning.
Veal Marsala was very good. Service was also very good.
The food here is consistently delicious. This wss our 4th time here in the past year. The food was great, the waiter was attentive, and the smbience and noise level were perfect. I highly recommend Tiramisu.
Never disappoints. Lovely staff and reliably good food.
Everything was delicious--linguini portofindo, fettuccini with artichokes and pesto and pappardelle with lamb ragu. The tiramisu and Panama cotta were great as well!
Very prompt service from an excellent waiter. Very nice staff
Very reasonable corkage
Good Caesar salad
Tagliatelle bolognese - excellent pasta. Bolognese good But not outstanding. Would try the lamb ragu next
Fish was good. Nice size portion
Soup was very flavorful
Tiramisu was very good
Bread to start fair at best
Always a pleasure to come here. Good food, fine wine, sometimes too noisy, but then the patrons must be enjoying themselves. And that's a good thing!
Great food and good service, overall pleasant experience. Definately will return in the future.
It had been quite a while since we had dined at Il Tiramisu, but we remembered that their food was good, etc. so we decided to return. The food was excellent and the wait staff couldn't have been more accommodating. This will definitely be one of our "go to" places.
Tonight everyone's food was excellent. Usually it is at least very good, but this meal was outstanding
Very accomodating management, nice lunch reasonable prices.
We always enjoy this place, both for food and the service. Always a good value.
This was a good find. I would go back. No reservation needed. Comfortable. Nice. Easy.
Always a pleasure to dine at Il Tiramisu. Consistently good food and service.
We hadn't dined at iI Tiramisu in several years but will definitely be back soon.
Nice atmosphere but could use a little face lift. Service was excellent and void well prepared. Nice menu. Many choices.
The food was very good. It was very reasonably priced. The waiter was very helpful with dinner and helping us order wine.
Starts with a greeting from Peter, the owner, a gentleman, always interest, never imposing. Start with the Portobello mushroom, or Mac and Cheese (the "mac" is really tender aldente orecchiette smothered in a mix of mild cheeses, served in a goblet and topped with shrimps.
All pasta entrees are superb and osso buco-none better.
Me and my fiancé had an amazing Valentine's Day dinner we couldn't of asked for better service and great food.. Everything was on point!! Food was amazing great wine selection!! Waiters were on top of everything!! Great place would def come again.
My girlfriend and I decided to go here for Valentine's Day because she really enjoys the ravioli. To our surprise, they offered a fixed menu and a set price per person. We are both teenagers and the price/fixed menu really threw me off, if they had notified the guests ahead of time I wouldn't be as dissapponted. Also I ordered a Caesar salad, and I was given 4 romaine hearts, 2 of which had no dressing at all, and the croutons were disgustingly mushy. My pasta crepes where so mushy that they fell apart as soon as I touched them with my fork. Being an Italian restaurant, they should know that pasta is meant to be served al dente, not as mush. The only redeeming factor was the desert.
This Italian / Mediterranean restaurant could be really busy in the weekend .. We love the service and the food and location in Sherman oaks is nice
Always consistent excellent cuisine. Personal and friendly service.
Great service in the classic old world style with knowledgeable waiters. Thank you. Incredible ossobuco that I can't find in many other places, so tender. Pasta with lobster was incredible. Cool music as well. They had a large party in the other room, but we were well taken care of. Seems like a lot of regulars. And great wine promo, half off the bottle prices. Wow!!!
I have been eating here for 29 years. The food is always good never changes ...The veal is to die from.
I cannot say I dislike anything on the menu it is good old home cooking
I dined here initially, for a high school graduation reception where we had a pre-set menu. I remembered the food being good, so when we were looking for a place to celebrate my parents' 44th wedding anniversary, I thought it would be a good place, since it was close, and reasonably priced. I made a reservation via Open Table, and although we had to wait a few minutes, I didn't have a problem with that, as we had a party of 9. I was sadly disappointed with the food. I had one of the lobster past specials and it had no flavor. My husband said the same thing of his linquine with clams. It wasn't horrible, but unfortunately we had to endure a loud patron at the table behind us, for most of the night. We heard her ENTIRE conversation and it just added to the fact that the food was a bit bland and the service was just "okay". Although our waiter was VERY nice, the service wasn't out of the ordinary. We ordered a couple of desserts and the only dessert I liked was the Hazelnut Gelato. Most likely won't come again.
Lovely dining spot. This is our second visit in 6 months, the food was fantastic, service was impeccable, really a charming place to have a relaxing dinner. if you are looking for a "date night" spot this is the place.
Count on iL Tiramisu for consistent food quality and attentive and considerate service. A Sherman Oaks gem.
Food is wonderful. Great olive oil for the bread. Owners are friendly and attentive. Nice romantic atmosphere. Definitely worth trying. You will come back again and again.
My husband and I spent our 3rd New Year's Eve @ Il Tiramisu for a reasonably priced New Year's Eve dinner. The restaurant is small and cozy with good Italian dishes. My husband dined on barramundi and I had the ossobuco. The restaurant had a prixe fixe menu for the night which consisted of three courses. The portions were ample and delicious. Looking forward to another
New Year's Eve dinner next year.
...To die for! This place threatened to close after 17 years of great dining. Persuaded by customer loyalty, they are staying open. Family owned, this classy gem is a friendly, happy night spot serving the best Italian food in the valley. The menu is rich with Italian favorites including ricotta & basil crepes. For the moment all wine is half price per bottle. You can't do better!
I love this restaurant, the salads, pasta dishes and desserts were delicious. loved the Lobster tagliatelle special that night. the Linguini Portofino al Cartoccio is not only delicious but presented in a foil bag and opened beautifully onto your plate in front of your eyes.
I've held off writing this review to select the words I choose more dispassionately. We were a party of three, just before Christmas on a Saturday night. Our guest was known to the owner and his son and was greeted warmly on arrival though she made to stand for about 10 minutes while my husband parked the car (in their lot to which they had not given the correct directions). Did I mention our guest is 93? We were seated and from then on, except for the visit by the owner (the father), we had to hail a waiter as they rushed by, carefully not looking at our table. Eventually even our guest noticed this and her prime reason for eating out is to have a leisurely meal. It was a struggle to get cocktails (extremely limited selection; neither of our choices was available in premium whiskey or vodka). A struggle to get the hors d'oeuvres, which were EXCELLENT when they finally arrived. A struggle to order the mains. Two of our party chose the pasta special of the evening, which came lukewarm and pasty. Efforts to get more sauce required asking two different waiters. Forget getting a second drink. The noise from the tiny bar was so loud we could not speak comfortably to each other. That is normal, I'm sure, so it's a comment, not a complaint. The food, though slowly served and barely warm, was exemplary. Nevertheless at $175 for three, we won't be back given the total lack of service. Sorry this is so long. YMMV.
Glad to know they're staying put. A decent Italian restaurant in the far far way place called the Valley!
Superb food and exceptionally attentive and warm service.
Loved Il Tiramisu! Great Food and Great Service at reasonable prices!
All in all, the dining experience was wonderful. Food was prepared well and wait staff was attentive. Only complaint was that the mac and cheese and shrimp appetizer was seriously overpriced.
Took the family and some friends out for some nice Italian food. Enjoyed a pleasant evening. Great promotion they have with half price wine bottles. Had the lasagna - great. All the pastas were tasty. Salmon cooked perfectly. Will be back.
I ate here once before - about 15 years ago, and remembered it as a quaint, romantic, cozy Italian restaurant with good food. This time around, not so much. My family (of four) was seated in a darkly lit, sparsely decorated (if at all) room. I know the restaurant isn't big, but the room we were in was just depressing. No ambience, at all. The service, however, was impeccable, and the wait staff polite and very accommodating. The owner came by to say hello (very nice man). The food was just ok, and oddly, sparsely laid out on the plate. Had they just placed the food closer together or on a smaller plate, it would have looked more palatable and inviting. As it was, it was overall rather disappointing. We most likely won't eat here again.
