Il Tinello Ratings and Reviews
While visiting NYC from our new home in San Diego, Il Tinello was a must! From the warm welcome through dinner, service was classical and sincere. The extensive menu might scare some to think everything can't be great but a brand sampling by our party of five proves once again that Il Tinello is our number one choice for authentic Italian cuisine. Featuring several options for fish, pasta, meat, salads and soups and vegetable sides and entrees, the menu was perfect for us all. The Dover Sole, impeccably filleted table-side was firm and delicious in the simple lemon, caper sauce. The manicotti crepes were thin, and perfectly stuffed with ricotta in a tasty tomato sauce. Noticeably fresh and homemade. The bolognese was rich and clung to the pasta and was enjoyable. A special fettechini alfredo was made for one of our guests but all sampled it. Flawless execution of the classic sauce, rich and creamy and worthy of Alfredo's golden fork. The show stopper, for me anyway, was my eggplant Parmesan. A must order on any menu for me, but often a disappointment for this Italian-raised home cook/food enthusiast. The thinly sliced, peeled eggplant was crispy on the outside and tender inside. Covered in a zesty sauce and an adequate amount of mozzarella, the dish was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Finishing the meal with a lemoncello and slice of ricotta cheesecake left the party supremely satisfied and content with the restaurant selection, once again. Well done and Grazie!
My wife & i went for our anniversary & it was a grand slam. We shared a tableside Caesar salad that was delicious. She had the avocado salad which was great. I had the gnocchi bolognese that was to die for. For our entrees she had the black linguini pasta special which was amazing & I had the chicken scarpariello which was one of the best that I’ve ever had. The Il Tinello team went above & beyond to make our night special. Thank you for such a wonderful evening. I highly recommend this restaurant!
This was my third time. Once again it was a memorable experience. The food was superb and the service was top notch. I took my goddaughter and we both felt we were in a New York restaurant of our fantasies.
I had the Dover sole and it was delicious.
I will return soon!
I have been dining at Il Tinello for many years and every time the service, food and ambience is world class! Every time I am in NYC (live in CT) I find time to have an enjoyable dinner at Il Tinello with my beautiful wife and/or good friends. So very special.
Ask for a table by the wall otherwise u r in the middle of service people walking by u on both sides. Hope u will be away from the rally loud groups that r here for business dinners as it is hard to hear. Food was great, service wonderful. I would recommend
I’ve eaten here twice. Once for dinner and once for lunch. Both meals were superb. The food is excellent. The service is of a level rarely seen today. From the moment I arrived until I left I felt the staff wanted one thing. For me ( the diner) to have a pleasant experience. One could say the menu is pricey. But in this case you get what you pay for. I plan to return as often as I can.
