Food is good but cost is far too expensive
Great make, 3rd visit & it gets better & better. Great food & waiters
An amazing dinning experience
We enjoyed my wife’s birthday dinner so much. The food was exquisite, only matched by the service.
Il Tinello is one of the old-line classic Italian restaurants in NYC. They wheel a cart of fresh antipasta ingredients to your table to start (burrata, tomatoes, grilled vegetables, peppers, prosciutto, etc. it’s a great start to the meal.
The menu is varied and they are very flexible is you want something else. One of us had the Dover sole, one had the lamb chops and I had veal saltimbacca. Everyone was happy. Desserts were also well presented at the table and fresh.
The service is always superb. Great place for a romantic dinner or dinner with another couple.
We came here last year. My wife asked me to make the same reservation, in other words it was memorable. We were greeted with pleasantness and seated immediately. The food was superb and the service outstanding. We will definitely come again next year.
Exceptional service and food. Our favourite Midtown Italian restaurant.
We had a wonderful experience at Il Tinello. We are long time customers of Il Tinello and are always pleased with our food and service at Il Tinello. Will return often.
This is exquisite fine dining in the Italian Tradition. Service, food and ambiance could not be exceeded, as was the attention to every detail lost in most great restaurants today. We cannot wait to go back.
A bit expensive, but it's the great food and the top notch service you're paying for and it's worth every cent
The best veal in town! Superb and elegant service. Beautiful dining room. Excellent range of menu items with a specialty of spagehetti carbonara. Old School in the very best sense possible. A wonderful New Year's eve dinner, a night we rarely go out for. Highly recommend.
Great dinner as always.
Everything was neat perfect except that they didn’t hold the table. I made a reservation and then was late. I called to see if they’d hold the table and they said no problem. But then we had to wait over an hour at the bar for the table. This has happened to me before at Tinello. And we are (were) regulars. I would definitely recommend Tinello, but as a walk-in. The reservation system is not really honored here.
My husband and I both had Dover Sole prepared table side in a light lemon wine sauce. Absolutely delicious! This was our first time dining here and the only negative thing I can say was we felt a little rushed throughout dinner. I was still drinking a glass wine and was asked 3 times if I was ready for dessert. At these prices I wouldn’t expect to be rushed.
Amazing dinner. Definitely come back. Only issue I had a. 730 reserve for 2 and didn’t get seated until 8:30
Wonderful experience as always.....everything was great
One of the worst meals ever served in NYC. This place should be ashamed charging these prices. DO NOT GO HERE. There are too many good restaurants to waste your time and money.
Ordered a Filet mignon , medium rare, arrived well done.
Although the meal was taken back and then cooked correctly , my wife’s meal was nearly finished by the time I started mine s the whole meal is then ruined in terms of an experience. Shame as I had high hopes for the meal.
Always first class dinning.
Excellent food and service.
Despite having a team of dedicated and professional waiters, management does not care or respect reservations. Additionally, food quality was mediocre and expensive. We will not return.
Not the Il Tinello I love(d). Listrning to loud, drunken diners yelling over each over does not make for an enjoyable meal.
It’s our go to place for GREAT holiday season lunch.
As always an outstanding experience in all respects. The tranquility and refinement of the restaurant is welcome particularly at this time of year when the City is so hectic.
great service and delicious food every time I eat there. I have been going there for 10 years, always a wonderful experience.
Excellent Service and Great food! A lot of attention to detail. Every course was beautifully presented
Very accommodating, polite and so welcoming!
The food was excellent!
Loved the decor.
Second time there and it was even better than the first. I highly recommend if you love Italian food. Great service even better food.
Annual Christmas dinner. Because of the holiday season restaurant was packed but they really did the best they could. During the year it is always wonderful!
Made a reservation here for my wife's birthday. The ambiance was nice and the food, although somewhat pricey, was delicious. For most of the evening, the service was terrific; however, we felt rushed during dessert. We had been there for almost an hour when the dessert was served but it seemed as though they wanted us out in order to seat people who were waiting. We were not going to rush through our desserts, but had to deal with constant stares and interruptions from the waiter and manager. Also, the wines on the wine list were WAAAAAY overpriced. From what I recall, the cheapest bottle of red was around $65, with most of the wines over $100. They need to add more affordable wines to their offering.
Excellent in every way!
Fun environment and awesome food, service was attentive and a great dinning experience.
NYC for a weekend trip ! We were running late do you rain and lots of cab/Uber traffic
Called restaurant and they held our table for us !!
Great food ! Great staff !!
Being from Boston area it’s hard to find great Italian restaurants outside of the north end !
This one was exceptional
Always the best Italian food in NYC! Excellent service.
Wonderful service and food. Always a pleasure to dine at Il Tinello.
The food was great
Service was great
Wine was great but overpriced. They charged almost 3 times retail
They have best Dover sole I have eaten other than in Europe
Absolutely amazing- our neighborhood restaurant for 25 years now and not even one disappointment, ever! A restaurant I recommend to everyone who asks where to dine in NY. Maitre’dJohn is an extraordinary host!
Amazing as always
Too crowed. They are over booking. The entry was packed and the waiters hardly able to move about.
Wew come every year for my husbands birthday. It is his very favorite.
