spaghetti with onions & pancetta
Interesting authentic menu with many choices.
The food was delicious and the service was impeccable.
Ate outside on a beautiful night . Everything was very clean and safe.
We have not been in NYC to dine in 6 months but the first place we went back to dine is Il Tinello. Still the same great gracious service and delicious food. It is so great to be back! Hope it will be often.
Never disappointed with anything about this restaurant.
Absolutely great team. Jacques took care of us. Great service, staff and food.
Fantastic place. Been going here for years it’s the best Italian in NYC
EXCELLENT FOOD .....EVERY DISH WAS DELICIOUS.
THE SERVICE WAS WONDERFUL.
VERY CLEAN & SAFE TO EAT.
We LOVE Il Tinello and would recommend everyone go there. The food is impeccable, the service is outstanding (ask for Nick and Wilson), and they feel like family.
Always a great experience! Outside dining a bit challenging in NYC but always first class service
Great place with amazing food. A bit on the pricy side for wine
Service and food are always consistent. This was a new experience post COVID but they did a very nice job.
Once again, Il Tinello was excellent in all respects. I have written reviews of Il Tinello before saying just how good it is, and now I would say in addition how reliably excellent it is. I go often and am never disappointed in the food, service, or ambiance, and I have very high expectations because of all my previous outstanding experiences. So I highly recommend.
Overall solid experience. Table was happy with the food quality. Service was good but oddly when delivering the food, it was like a food auction for BOTH the first and second course - they couldn't figure out who had what food. Pretty amatuer hour in my opinion but wouldn't prohibit a return.
My favorite Italian restaurant in NYC and be sure to make a reservation.
Fantastic service great food
One of the best displays of service of any restaurant
Amazing food and service!!! Will definitely go back!
Excellent team made the night even better. Excellent food.
My favorite Italian restaurant in the city closed earlier this year and I was excited to try to find another spot to fill its void. This is definitely it! Highly recommended.
Try to go every time we are in NYC. Always great service and great food.
Walked in because of the great reviews. And they are not wrong!!!! Without reservations, we were told that tables would be available in 45 minutes. We went for a walk and when we returned we were welcomed and thanked to have come back. We really felt like they wanted us to join them for dinner. Service is exceptional. Food is amazing. Nothing to complain about.
If I could give the service 10 stars I would! Excellent, welcoming, and delicious food- we had a wonderful experience!
Awesome dinner. Shared the cold antipasti. Best I’ve had. The specialty was Dover Sole fileted table side. Excellent. Staff is attentive. Excellent but expensive wine list. I will go back.
Excellent food, impeccable service, and attractive decor.
This is old school fine dining at its best.
If you are seeking a special night out, this is it.
We love il Tinello!! Service was superior and food as always delicious! The wait staff is best in the city!
My husband and I ate year last year around the same time. We had a great experience then, and we did this past time. The service is excellent and the food delicious. We got to sit in the back of the restaurant so it felt cozy. The meal did not feel rushed at all. The food came out at a nice pace. Everything we ate was so tasty. We will definitely be back again.
Absolutely wonderful from the first moment. We were met with a warm and welcoming greeting. Shown immediately to our table in the restaurant with a cozy and inviting ambiance. The wait staff was exceptional; attentive without intruding, knowledgeable, friendly without being obsequious and added to the enjoyment of our evening. Finally the food, absolutely outstanding! The Dover Sole was exquisite and the Lobster And linguine was perfect. We loved the experience and will be back. I highly recommend Il Tinello!
Intimate ambiance. Quiet for a romantic evening or a business dinner. Food is delicious and true to Italian roots. Service is warm and friendly. Although I wouldn’t consider this every day dining it’s also a lovely repeat occasion restaurant.
GreT food. Perfect service!!
Another great experience at Il Tinello.....It is reliably terrific with wonderful food, environment and service. Absolutely recommended for any occasion (with the understanding it is not inexpensive.)
I had been searching for a great Italian restaurant in midtown ever since my long-time favorite went out of business. I am searching no longer. Il Tinello is classic and timeless. The service is excellent, welcoming and attentive without being stuffy. The pesto is fresh and flavorful, the linguine ala vongole is among the best I have ever had - my test for a great Italian restaurant. The insalata tre colori was perfection. The wine list has some affordable gems. It was so good, we went back two nights later and after just two visits we felt treated like regulars. I can't wait until my next visit.
As always excellent have never had a bad experience or for that matter even an average experience always first class in the food service and ambience areas
Loved it! Pasta yummy .. service terrific as was the desert.
Sheer perfection! Old world charm. Excellent service. Quiet. Best spaghetti carbonara I have had in the USA ever. Lovely appetizers and nice selection of specials. We will be back! Not a hip scene. A romantic couple’s spot or family place.
Food is good but cost is far too expensive
The pasta (rigatoni Schiavone) was overcooked and tasted like it had been microwaved although the server said their kitchen does not microwave pasta. The plate was scorching hot and a microwave seems the best explanation. The antipasto selection on the serving cart was confusing. We assumed that one could pick and choose which was not the case so we wound up with a little of everything including canned artichoke pieces. The wait staff have the bad habit of calling everyone by the term "my friend" even though it was our first and probably last time there.
Great make, 3rd visit & it gets better & better. Great food & waiters
An amazing dinning experience
We enjoyed my wife’s birthday dinner so much. The food was exquisite, only matched by the service.
Il Tinello is one of the old-line classic Italian restaurants in NYC. They wheel a cart of fresh antipasta ingredients to your table to start (burrata, tomatoes, grilled vegetables, peppers, prosciutto, etc. it’s a great start to the meal.
The menu is varied and they are very flexible is you want something else. One of us had the Dover sole, one had the lamb chops and I had veal saltimbacca. Everyone was happy. Desserts were also well presented at the table and fresh.
The service is always superb. Great place for a romantic dinner or dinner with another couple.
