Il Tinello Ratings and Reviews
We had such a wonderful meal. There not many restaurants that provide really good service without getting in the way. The service was perfect. The food is several notches better than the competition. We enjoyed both specials and regular menu items. We will be back.
Absolutely outstanding. Food was among the best we have had anywhere in NYC. My veal was especially terrific and the filet mignon ordered by my wife was cooked perfectly and much more tasty than usual. Only issue was a large group at a nearby table that was quite loud.
Recommended by my hotel concierge. Great old world style Italian. Great ambiance, food and fantastic service. My 8 year old son, who can be a fussy eater, absolutely loved the Bolognese.
The food was amazing, especially the veal chop Milanese. Perfectly prepared, very rustic. Can't say enough about how great the service was.
We will definitely go back next time we are in the city.
thought I was going to an Italian restaurant but greeted and served by Russians pretending to be Italian
Waiting Area was claustrophobic
Veal Milanese with dark veal and greasy breading
To many great restaurants in Manhattan to waist your time with this one
Great service. Old school Italian, in every way, which has its pros and cons.
Didn't feel that the food its of was anything special or a place I would recommend. We went because it was near our hotel and I had a starving kid in tow. Staff made it a nice dinner, but couldn't get past the quality of food for the price. It's NYC, so you expect a mark-up, but the food was rather average.
Super strange and NOT classy- I ordered a second glass of wine and when the waiter brought it, he dumped the remainder of my first glass into my 2nd glass. I've never seen that and was shocked to witness it a few times at such a "high scale" restaurant.
An Excellent Evening!
This is a wonderful restaurant and we had an excellent evening! Our request for an intimate table was granted and the food was amazing! My only criticism (and it is a slight one) is that we didn't care for the service hierarchy. Our white coat attendants were fabulous - friendly and attentive. Our black coat attendant (our main server) was over-bearing and very pushy. Once he took our order, we never saw him again - not even to say thank you. Having said that, the white coat staff should be commended for saving the day and providing us with a wonderful dining experience. You will not be disappointed.
We were seated nearly 40 minutes after our reservation time. The food was good, but nothing special. The service at our table was very good. My tuna tartar didn't taste like there was any tuna in it, although it was nice, and thus obviously not what I was expecting.
