This is my second visit in less than a month. It has all the trappings of a high end NYC restaurant but feels a bit like a neighborhood spot. Probably pricey for the average person but in my opinion well worth it.
The finest Dover sole anywhere!
Service impeccable
Desert flambé at table!
Truly one of the great ones in NYC.
My step daughter and I had an opportunity to dine last evening and I must say it was an amazing experience. We were graciously greeted upon entering and the first thing you notice is the high level of decoration. Beautiful paintings, table settings and the waitstaff dressed in classic style. The food was on point...tuna tartare, cannelloni stuffed with meat and the veal saltimbocca were flavorful and classically presented. The dessert: profiteroles with vanilla ice cream and tiramisu were absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for classic Italian presentations and flawless service.
Impeccable service, incredibly delicious menu choices, and upscale atmosphere make this our favorite NYC restaurant. Great for making any occasion a special celebration to remember.
Fantastic service and food!
Food is always fantastic as well as the service
Always a great meal and great service.
Great great
The usual great experience and one of our favorites: attentive, professional service, terrific food and quiet atmosphere where you can actually hear your dining companion without having to shout over music or poor acoustics. (There is no music here which is a plus in our view.)The atmosphere is romantic so this is a great place for a date. There's lots of variety and the food is top drawer. They are also accommodating for special needs (e.g. low sodium diets or vegetarian). All in all it's a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience. However, do expect a bill to match. This is not the place to go if you're on a tight budget.
Awesome meal with my wife. Always a welcoming atmosphere and a feeling of family with a great meal.
Everything was absolutely spectacular!! The service and food were great!!
Excellent service. Food was very good.
Best Italian restaurant in midtown. Great service,
Very accommodating.
Real Italian kitchen and service. Great quality and nice wine menue. Perfect for business talks in a distinguished atmosphere. Visited mainly by locals
Absolutely amazing
The specials are surprisingly overpriced. They mention the specials and then you are surprised when you get the check . I had the most expensive pasta in my life here $42 ! The price of fresh Porcini mushrooms.
Great service and great taste. I recommend for japanese and chinese tourists..
Amazing! Amazing in so many ways!
Good service in attractive surroundings. Proximity to Carnegie Hall a big plus. Menu prices on the high side, and be sure to ask prices of the specials offered or you may be in for an unpleasant surprise when the bill arrives.
My husband and I come from Florida just to have dinner at Il Tinello for date night. It’s always, always spectacular.
One of the best dining experiences we have had. Impeccable.
Wait staff is always outstanding and the Dover sole prepared tableside was delicious it was topped off by a fabulous desert cart where they will make anything you want
If you want to be treated like a king and/or a queen, go to Il Tinello. From the moment you walk in the door, you are treated like royalty by the owner (who greets you at the door), and the numerous waiters, AND even the busboys, doting on you. While this restaurant may cost you more than most restaurants, it is worth the trip for a special occasion to experience the attentiveness of the staff and a very fine meal. The Caesar salad prepared at tableside is a MUST! So good! My friend wanted a shrimp cocktail, which was not on the menu, but the staff made sure she got one. I ordered a special appetizer (homemade rigatoni with porcini mushrooms, mozzarella, and mushrooms). I asked to have it with a red sauce, and the waiter talked me out of it, saying it really should be served the way it was described. I am SO glad I listened to him! He KNEW I would love it the way it was suggested. He definitely knew everything there was to know about the food being served and made many great suggestions to my group. What a wonderful meal! And the dessert table, which is wheeled around to the tables so you can actually SEE what the dessert is, is a great idea so you can see what is being offered ahead of time so you can save room for a delicious treat to end your meal. We love this restaurant, and even with the many, many restaurants in NYC, this is still one of our very favorites. The staff is impeccable, and the food and service are consistently amazing!
An absolute delight. Of all the dining experiences we had in the city, this was at the top of our list. The service was impeccable and the food was sensational.
The food and service was first rate. Wine selections are great. Would definitely return
Superb continues. We’ve been coming for 28 years and never tired of it. Excellent all around.
Closed place down. Lovely dinner
Discovered this restaurant for a Valentines Day dinner, and returned again this year for dinner. Knowledgeable and attentive staff. Excellent food and cozy atmosphere. If I lived in NYC I’d be there at least every month.
Went here for pre theater dinner. Lovely place with waiters very attentive. Classic Italian place. Very old world NY restaurant vibe. My wife and I really enjoyed it. The fresh raspberries with zabaglione to wrap up the meal was absolutely delicious. Just a short walk to Carnegie Hall.
Outstanding!!!
awesome food every time I've been there. great spot for top notch italian food
Very authentic Italian restaurant with delicious options. Most things on the menu can be altered to be gluten free for those with celiac disease or allergies. Caesar salads handmade at the table were wonderful and my gluten free shrimp Fra Diavolo was the best GF dish I’ve had. Will definitely make this spot in my every trip rotation when I come to Manhattan.
Admittedly we were quite late for our reservation, but the service was terrible. Our waiter could not have been less friendly, or.less attentive. Very disappointing. The food was okay--not great, but good.
Great food. Great service. A bit pricey
one of our favorite...NY, Paris, etc
every time we re arein NY
Very good high end Italian in Midtown. Staff efficient and courteous. Food is always top notch.
The service at this restaurant was impeccable!! Delicious food and very attentive, friendly wait staff. We will definitely be back the next time we are in NYC.
Felt s bit rushed. One meal was fine one was mediocre. Antipasto serving was small and underwhelming. Quite expensive.
Il Tinello remains as one of the last Italian grande dames in New York. Food and service are outstanding in a wonderful old world setting. Order almost whatever you want and they will figure out how to make it for you. It is pampered experience.
one of the best italian in the city great menu choices, great staff
