Il Terrazzo Carmine
Il Terrazzo Carmine is located in historic Pioneer Square - nestled in an urban-renewed alley with entrances through the vintage lobby on First Avenue or through the delightful courtyard in the back. Since 1984, Carmine Smeraldo's classic Italian restaurant has been where the locals have chosen to return over and over again. From the Carpaccio Di Bue and Spaghettini Dell 'Ortolano for lunch to the Suprema Di Pollo Farcita and Zuppa Di Pesce for dinner you will know you have gone to a place where excellence is a way of life. Arguably the best Italian restaurant in Seattle, Il Terrazzo serves classical Italian cuisine with an atmosphere you may want to call home and never leave

We had a wonderful 18th birthday celebration with our daughter and friends. Il Terrazzo Carmine has a very special meaning to us, as this is where we named our daughter 18 years ago! Thank you!!!
This is my favorite restaurant in Seattle. Always good. Always Fresh. Professional Service.
We usually ask to be seated in the bar because the main dining room can get very loud
Overall a terrific experience with great service that is attentive, but not overly so. I went for lunch, and the food was consistently great from champagne cocktail through desert. The ambiance is warm, which is the perfect respite from the a grey Seattle day. Will definitely return.
Maybe the best place to eat in Seattle. I will go back
The food is decent, but does not reach up to the upper echelon quality one would expect for the price one pays. If the price came down a few dollars it would be right on target, but the current price point is a little too high.
Superb dining experience as usual! Excellent menu options as well as flexible chefs when needing personalized choices. Exceptional, attentive staff!
I was looking for an upscale Italian restaurant for a Valentine's Day/anniversary dinner with my wife and found it at Il Terrazzo Carmine! Overall the food was well presented, of high quality and the wine list was HUGE! I've never seen so many different Italian wines offered anywhere.
Service was spot on, the noise level was just right for a nice conversation, the restaurant was nicely laid out and they even remembered that it was also our anniversary (multiple times too)...that shows me they go the extra mile to make their customers remember the experience.
We split a salad, then had small portions of ravioli (crab/lobster for my wife and venison for me) which were excellent. After that, we split a serving of Profiteroles which was just the right amount. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner that night!
Excellent special event restaurant--it is our Valentine's favorite location, especially if you like a giant veal chop or wonderful rack of lamb. Appetizer's also are excellent. Service is amazing. We keep going back.
Always a pleasure to have them host us!
Unbelievable lunch at Il Terrazzo Carmine. We had the best chicken entrée there.
The medium rare steak was over cooked. Disappointing. Especially for such a high-end entrée. The anti-pasta plate was outstanding. We passed on dessert. The shoestring french fries arrived cold I had to be re-ordered.
We had a wonderful lunch with salmon and amazing black cod. And great Risotto as starch course. The carpaccio was also excellent. Attentive and professional service. One of the best restaurants in Seattle!
The place is very romantic. The food is amazing. The price is great. I and my friends had a fantastic night.
Alicia made sure our table was absolutely perfect! The service was superb and as always the food was very well done.
Loved the evening. Delicious food with excellent service and peaceful. We can always count on It Terrazzo Carmine to be great!
Nice ambiance. Good for a special occasion or business dinner. On the pricey side and my double cut pork chop was tough.
Best food I've had in a long time. Risotto with Prawns tasted amazing.
We have been coming here for years for business dinners and celebrations of different kinds and have never been disappointed. Its simply a gem in Seattle!
My husband and I have been there if you times in the last few years and were surprised at the lack of flavor with the bull your base and the clams/but a Cheeni dish do you want to race just seemed very average, not special like we remember at Carmine’s
It was lovely again, as we returned to the location of our first date to celebrate our fifth anniversary.
Our good friends birthday.
We went to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The staff is very friendly but the food was not worth the price. My husband had soup and it lacked flavor. The eggplant Parmesan was wonderful though. He had a braised pork w fettuccine and it lacked flavor at all levels. I had a prime steak and the meat was tough and very thin. For $49, I expected at least a nicer cut of meat. There was flavor because of the garlic and parsley but it tasted slightly burned. We do not mind paying upscale price for dinner but it was not worth it at many levels. If we go, we will stick w the eggplant Parmesan and salad. Sad to have such a restaurant reduced to two plates.
John was great food excellent as always!
We've eaten at Il Terrazzo Carmine many times, and it never fails to please. Fabulous food and service. Also valet parking, which is rare in downtown Seattle.
Wow. The food was so disappointing. A crab appetizer was served so cold you couldn’t taste the crab. Pesto pasta was too much cream and not enough basil. Just not much flavor to the dishes. Service and ambience was fine, but the food - yikes.
Excellent food and service. Sea bass and scallops were both amazing! Noise level was high and tables were close together, but otherwise a very nice environment for dinner.
I have been going here for over 20. They have a very broad menu with something for everybody. Over the years I have tried a wide variety of items and have never been disappointed. The service is exceptional. Only complaint it that it can be difficult to converse.
I was very impressed by the service and food quality. Absolutely outstanding. Had a medium rare steak that was very tender—basically melted in my mouth.
Was practically perfect
Another great lunch! Seattles best power lunch restaurant.
Chilean Sea Bass was to die for!!! Service was great. It was a little loud. Cioppino good
Venison Ravioli was amazing! Our server needed a personality!!
Always a delight. Food and service are predictably very good. Always the same which is a good thing.
Always wonderful food and service
Pasta was cooked perfectly. Seafood in pasta was cooked perfectly: tender muscles and giant prawns that tasted as sweet as fresh caught lobster, grilled & served beachfront. The tiramisu was the best my husband and I have ever had. Thanks for making his birthday so enjoyable!
Good food and great service. The kitchen accommodates dietary restrictions.
Beautiful restaurant with beautiful food. It is really still one of the top ten in Seattle
We came for my Wife’s birthday dinner but we were early so we had drinks at Intermezzo which was amazing. Then next door to the main restaurant and we were greeting by the manager Nick whom was great. Off to our table where we were greeted by our server Joe who was also great. The best Osso Buco I’ve had and the tiramisu was fabulous. We will be back.
