Il Segreto Ratings and Reviews
We really enjoy this restaurant. The noise level on the patio is fine. On a Saturday night the noise level is extreme in the main dining room. However they have an upstairs that I haven’t seen but would hope is much quieter than downstairs. When we arrived for our dinner friends were sitting inside and I had requested the patio. They were very accommodating and moved our table to the patio. There are heaters and we were very comfortable. The good and service is excellent.
ITALIAN FOOD COOKED BY ITALIANS, IN THE PERFECT ITALIAN MANNER---PASTA ALWAYS PERFECTLY AL DENTE, ALWAYS DELICIOUS.
THE "SECRET ROOMS" ARE THE PERFECT PLACE FOR A QUIET ROMANTIC DINNER FOR TWO---MY HUSBAND AND I BECAME ENGAGED THERE AND RETURN FREQUENTLY.
Always fantastic. Never disappoints. Service is friendly and receptive.
The food - of course - fabulous, delicious.
Salvatore - the managing partner - is simply outstanding - warm, very accommodating. If you're lucky enough to order something that is prepared tableside - it will be a real treat.
Even though it's becoming less of a secret, we still love this place and look for opportunities to go back.
The food was excellent; but NO
FOOD would be worth the level of ear-piercing noise. Several large parties of 12 were seated at prime dinner time..one party seated in main dining room. This leads one to believe making $, cramming people into small dining room, is more important than the diners experience.
I made it clear when I made reservations, I wanted a quiet table.
They should have told me that they could not accommodate my request.
Il Segreto is an astonishingly fine restaurant, located in a small circle at the top of Beverly Glen Drive, approximately 1/4 mile below Mulholland Drive on the Los Angeles side of the ridgeline. I had heard from friends that it was very good, so when my wife and I wanted a special night out, with someplace special, we chose Il Segreto. And was that a wise decision! The staff are most welcoming and work hard to ensure that each patron feels appreciated and is satisfied. The wine list is formidable--a wide variety of European and California vintages, and all of outstanding quality and value for money. Il Segreto is only open for dinner (starting at 5:00 pm), and the menu is excellent--great variety, balanced among meat, poultry, seafood, and vegetarian. Truly this is a remarkable restaurant, and we will make it a special destination everytime our travels take us back to LA. Go and enjoy!!
I cannot overstate how wonderful this restaurant is. Every time we go it is simply delightful.
If you're lucky enough to order something that is served tableside you're in for a real treat. The maitre d' is extremely charming and has a definite flair and affinity for flavor. The rest of the service staff are also very courteous and knowledgeable. And the food is sublime - always very fresh, deliciously prepared and nicely served. And while it's almost more a "neighborhood" restaurant (we don't live nearby), we make it a point to dine there whenever we are anywhere close to the area. Certainly it's one of our very favorite restaurants in LA.
Had a wonderful time. All the servers were very nice and attentive. The food was fabulous! The ravioli was just perfection. They're foiled baked pasta is delicious. They serve bread with Olive Oil and balsamic vinegar which you can't go wrong there. This is a little hidden gem. We are not from this area but will definitely visit every time we are in town.
Il Segreto lives up to its name. Hidden in the corner of a shopping center off of Beverly Glen, we discovered it by accident while waiting for seats at another restaurant that told us they had nothing for at least an hour. I'll Segreto had no sign and is tucked away behind a sushi restaurant. They sat us immediately ( good timing on our part, as it soon filled up with regulars, many who seemed to live nearby) and we had the most delicious, authentic Italian food I've eaten outside of Italy. The staff is amazing and very accommodating, and the food is wonderful. I cannot say enough good things about the Pappardelle with shaved black truffles!
A true hidden gem.
