It was a good night there!
Always delicious fresh fish in this neighborhood favorite
Never misses. Excellent, authentic Italian with exceptionally good pastas. Food and service are terrific and always have been (after a dozen visits over several years).
It is a great restaurant
Excellent all around!
The food was bland. Not much of a wine selection. It was not worth the price. The only positive thing was the service. Will not be going back.
Love I’ll Riccio. Good food in a quiet intimate atmosphere Neighborhood gem
This my first time here but I liked it so much that we are coming back for Valentines Day!
A pleasant, long lasting neighborhood shoe box. They were extremely nice about resetting our table in a different area than the one where they set us up originally.
In the grand scheme of places to eat in nyc at this price point this was not bad by any means but there are lots of other places I’d go back to before here. 3 stars means average to me. Not bad.
REstaurant was empty for lunch, but our food was v
ery good and certainly allowed for conversation. Would go again. Service was very pleasant.
The place had a nice menu and food was very good. The service was ok, not great. The tables were too close together and you felt crammed in. Perhaps on a week night it would be better. Great location if in the upper east side. The price was a high for what you got.
Delicious food, friendly service , quiet. This restaurant is not a scene.
Dinner with extended family pre-Thanksgiving. Had our own quiet room in back. We have eaten here several times but this was the best ever. Truly great food, beautifully prepared.
As always Il Riccio delivers. It may be among the best Italian food in town. The service can wane, but, a word with the head man will solve that. They start you off with the house's fried zucchini. After that, you are in the hands
I just love this place. Friendly, no pretensions, not too noisy, they never make you feel rushed, can sit for hours, and the food is always delicious
always a pleasure-always consistent- warm and always a welcoming environment
a real neighborhood spot-eeven though i travel from upper west side
Pleasant place with good enough food. The veal chop milanese was not what it used to be. More breading than veal with a limp salad.
Staff could smile more and be more welcoming. Food was so so- average.
front of restaurant over crowded. HAD TO GET UP FROM CHAIR TO LET PEOPLE PASS OR THEY BRUSH UP AGAINST YOU
My wife and I took our (NYU student) daughter there on a Saturday night while in town for the weekend. It was fabulous - warm atmosphere, attentive and yet relaxed service, incredible pasta dishes (my new favorite), great bread, a comp chef appetizer, perfect portions, delicious cappuccino, comp biscotti, I could go on! We will return!
Burrata appetizer was sour and couldn't finish it. Branzino was very dry and tasteless, and the salad it came with tasted horrible. Service was prompt but attitude was abrupt. My friend didn't like her seafood medley - was very dry. We've dined there in the past but won't return.
Wonderful meal and service!
great food-great service-been eating there for years
The menu (and prices) have changed at the restaurant since last year, and not for the better in my opinion. Favorite dishes have disappeared and the replacements are not as good, although the prices are a bit higher. What had been a better than average neighborhood place is now simply average. With all of the choices in the area, being average is not enough.
The fish was awful. The appetizer was in same tasteless cream sauce as pesce. mista. Food was simply awful.
The meat dishes (hamburgers, lamb) have been undercooked recently. Had to send my order back on two occasions.
Good and wine very good. Service very good. We
like sitting in the back room and will always request
It. Not rushed to leave.
Il Riccio never misses: service is unobtrusive but anticipatory, specials are varied, food is excellent.
We were 3 friends trying Il Riccio for lunch during restaurant week. The setting is pleasant, a bit rustic, but bright and airy - made more so, when I attended, by the sparse afternoon crowd. Three of us ordered everything offered on the restaurant week lunch menu including desserts. Tomatoes in a salad were typically cardboard; something a more careful kitchen would avoid serving. Almost everything else was decent but uninspired - in preparation and presentation. Tiramisu, ordered by two of us, tasted stale as if it had sat in the refrigerator for a week. One bottled Peroni and two glasses of house wine rang up at $33.00, a disappointing surprise. Service was adequate but without any effort to ingratiate or charm. None of us plans to return.
Just moved back to NYC and had heard it was a nice place. Staff and food was great. Plan on going back.
good authentic Amalfi Coast food.loved the fried zucchini that they served when you first sit down gratis
Excellent menu choices....all selected were delicious. Service was friendly and helpful.
Lovely restaurant with neighborhood ambiance. Our waiter seemed like he'd rather be anywhere else. Food was tasty but nothing special.
I met a friend for restaurant week-- I loved the whole meal! The pasta was amazing , and the lemon sorbet did not disappoint! (I especially loved the presentation in the lemon!)
The restaurant was pretty empty, food was ok, service fine, but overall just dull. Sorry.
The restaurant needs an update to its ambiance- the food was okay
I've never had a bad experience at Il Riccio, and I've been coming for many many years.
On this occasion, dinner with old friends visiting NY, we sat in the back glassed in "garden" and that was lovely. Service is always friendly, reliable and professional. Among other things, we had a nice bottle of rosé, delicious burrata appetizer, good pastas, and branzino. It was a most enjoyable evening.
Great local foodie haven
A friend told me she loves this place, but I don't really see why. I thought it was a bit expensive, and the food not really special, just okay. I chose it because it was convenient for a companion who is not easily mobile, but I was disappointed.
