Still one of my favorite restaurants for a quiet Italian meal with wonderful service. Menu has changed a bit, and I miss their no longer offering beef carpaccio. However, the ambiance and service remain excellent, and the main courses are varied and tasty.
We chose Il Riccio for a pasta lover that understands authentic Italian food. We were not disappointed. Intimate, friendly atmosphere w/o feeling crowded. We had the goat cheese salad with best goat cheese i had - buttery with a hint of garlic. The pasta w meat sauce was delicious w/o being heavy and the chicken scarpariello traditional and tasty [you know when you eat beyond your means]; even the steamed spinach was flavorful. They also matched us very well with wine. All in all a delightful experience and we'll be there again
This is a lovely, friendly, neighborhood restaurant with good Italian food. The specialities change nightly. There is always something you would want to try. It is a great place to have a private, small party for up to 30 people.
Overall it was a lovely experience all the way around.
From the ease at which we made the reservation on Open Table to the warm reception when we got to the restaurant.
The food, staff and service all exceeded our expectations.
I would recommend the restaurant for any occasion
Bland tasteless marinara sauce on the pasta special. Nothing great about any of the other food. In an empty restaurant why is it a policy to seat people at a tiny table for 2 when there are tables for 4 that remained empty all night? Clearly there were no reservations for the other tables. Why are they all held for regulars who might walk in?? That is not how a restaurant encourages people from the neighborhood to return.
There is much better Italian food in the area. Will not return.
Very enjoyable. Minor complaint: thought Chardonnay by the glass not as good as usual.
Small enough restaurant that makes you feel welcome and serves authentic Italian to boot!
Too many tables close together. Difficult to stand up and go to restroom. Food came out warm to cold.
We visited this restaurant with wife n son and we found it pretty good. We are Italian n therefore we can say that the food really tasted genuine Italian. And also wine we selected (falangina front Salerno area) was good
In few words, it really worthwhile! We recommend thi restaurant.
Always friendly, professional, great food.
We love this place and have been dining here for years. Under new ownership, and it hasn't skipped a beat. Might even have improved a bit. A complimentary starter was much appreciated. The fresh mozzarella was outstanding as was the veal with lemon and the shrimp risotto special.
The buffalo mozzarella dish was delicious and reasonably priced, the pasta dishes here are all delicious and home made as was the tiramisu.
veal paillard was salty and too thin
not really tender
the salad we shared good but not great
his penne with mozzarella was fair
free biscotti after ok
At $23 the three course lunch is a real bargain. The grilled vegetables were good but not exceptional, and the rigatoni tasty. My husband enjoyed the chicken dish aauteed in parmesan cheese. We shared the sorbet, which was delicious.
As always, professional and delicious
Great food and good service. Very worth while!!
Food was very average, appetizer was obviously pre-cooked & heated in microwave because it arrived in about 2 minutes after order. Service was inattentive & hurried. Very disappointed.... Will not return.
Nice place, average food
This was so unexpected. Was staying in unfamiliar part of town. The hostess was gone but gave recommendations. None of them looked good to us or were full. We were able to reserve a table an hour before for four people. We wondered if this was due to a not so good resteraunt. We found a fabulous amalfi Italian menu, wonderful staff, place to be able to hear your friends, and wonderful food.
This place is a gem. Recommending it to my select friends, as I don’t want to overcrowd it. Ha.
Enjoy the food and quality of this resteraunt.
Always good and good value, with friendly service. Their specials are what I order.
Wonderful pasta. Expert service.
Really good Food was excellent and so was the service. You think you’re in Italy !
Il Riccio can always be counted on to provide a delicious meal (the linguine with clams is divine!) in a lovely setting that is serene and very comfortable. The service is impeccable.
Food was good, chicken was a bit tough but the mushrooms on top helped compensate.
The bruschetta is delicious.
Pleasant surprise; never been there. Lovely little restaurant with a garden in the back. Fresh, lovely grilled vegetables; very tasty linguini. Will be back to try fish dish.
Not the same place as before when previous owners were there
Owner at door was not very welcoming but waiter was very good. Food pleasant. Good place to meet a friend to chat. Not too loud, able to talk, a nice neighborhood restaurant.
The open door, the easy casual atmosphere are very appealing on a pleasant summer evening
Love this restaurant, perfect neighborhood place BUT food really needs to be better!
Always great food and service. A little concerned that the wine list has shrunk and had limited choices. Given the heat and humidity, it would have been nicer if the doors were closed and the AC was on...
Just delicious pasta and ambience!
Beautiful quiet table along the walls...delicious wines as well.
Celebrated iur daughters birthday, and it was just perfect. Intimate setting, just like being on the Amalfi Coast. Food was delicious and hospitality impeccable!
Il Riccio is always a good choice on a mid week evening!
I booked a meal at this resturant because it was close to a concert at Central Park.
Very good food
Attentive waiting staff
Good information about allergies
Stepped entrance with a dangerous ramp
They made it clear that I was an inconvenience as a mobility device user
Owner tried to suggest I had the wrong resturant for my reservation
I had a lovely lunch with a friend whom I had not seen for many years; the location was good for both of us. We sat in the back garden-style area, which was charming on a summer day; the service was excellent and the food just as good. I would certainly go back!
My birthday! Delicious dinner.
Food was awful and we saw a mouse
Reliably good as always. The veal with artichokes was terrific.
The Biscotti are the best in town: Crispy and crunchy.
Would recommend booking ahead. Fantastic service and very efficient. Food was brilliant and quick to come out.
All six of us had a good meal!
