One of us had the stew special, we three agreed it was way too salty. The fried green tomatoes were so loaded that you couldn’t telll what it was. My salad had practically white Romaine, nothing green, but the other salad was good.
We have been several times, this was not the best.
I LOVE this restaurant. Icône here every time I’m in Napa, 5-6 times a year. It’s a sweet, small restaurant away from the tourist area The wait staff is very nice. My favorite is the pasta with papa sauce. Such delicious sauce, I could eat that alone as a meal. They ought to sell it!! Everyone seems to order the stuffed olives.
The Caesar salad is delicious as well. Treat yourself to this terrific restaurant
Great local spot, in fact, my favorite Italian in Napa. Good pasta, good apps, good wine list, great Italian beers. They have a good happy hour. Service is great. It's small and quaint.
The food was pretty authentic. Red sauce was a hearty southern Italian sauce and very tasty. We had eggplant parm and it was very good, but it was really big. We could have split it. Pasta was good and the Risotto balls were delicious. It was not too pricey at all. Only disappointment was the alcohol. They serve beer and wine...of course wine in Sonoma, but we were wined out for the day. So they have this stuff they make mixed drinks out of , but is not really alcohol like you are used to.
Serve was very good and everything came out hot. Friendly staff and nice ambiance. Nothing too stuffy at all.
Another great dinner, we will continue coming back for more.
Food and service were both great! Hector, our server was very helpful and professional. Definitely a hidden gem!
Terrific locals joint with a country house feel inside; no pretense. The pork belly and white beans is outstanding/nice heat on it. The potato gnocchi was devine. My friend had the veal parm but said it was overcooked; however, the pasta with sweet red pepper sauce that accompanied it was excellent. The caesar salad is also quite good. The restaurant has a nice wines by the glass selection.
We just moved into the neighborhood and this is our favorite place to eat. A real local gem.
Really really good brussel sprouts. Good pasta. Good "Sunday" sauce. Good meatballs.
Bone marrow appetizer, not so much - take a pass. Had to send it back, not right. Everything else here was very nice and the service was excellent. Recommended.
Reasonably priced home style Italian food.
We come here whenever we’re in Napa
the food is not good.
Best meal I’ve had in a long time and I live in Napa!
Good experience. Delicious artichoke dip!
Always a great place to go. A favorite of my places to dine since I live in Napa!! Brenda, Hector, Luis and Chris always have a smile and always great to see!! Love the entrees! Big Fan of the Ribeye but love other entrees as well.
We waited in a crowded area by the entrance because our table was not ready, seriously you could not move, it was so packed. Then the server was not the most attentive, we waited forever for our food. They gave us two of the four plates we had ordered and said it was because they had “run out of meatballs” so those that ordered meatballs waited even longer and then when they got them they were cold, the middle of the meatballs were refrigerator cold. They Comp
the meatball plates and gave us dessert for free but still Won’t be back!
Great food, great service on busy Saturday night. Hector took good care of us
This place was amazing. All of their pasta is handmade, in house— including their gluten free pasta! They have an impeccable wine list and the dining area was so cute and cozy. We will definitely come back when we are in town. I highly recommend stopping in. Don’t forget to make reservations!
The fresh ingredients, homemade pastas, pizzas and desserts are fantastic. The chef is very creative with fish and seafood, fantastic bone marrow appetizer, and so much more. The service is top notch and the owner is always there to greet and make certain you have a great dining experience.
We were amazed walking in - adorable ambiance and a light airy feeling.
We took the Italian waiters recommendations- the cannelloni and the rigatoni.
Both were mouth melting.
I would be back in a heartbeat.
I am in Napa quite a few times a year and Il Posto is one of my go-to restaurants. I have always enjoyed the food. The standouts are the bone marrow, Caesar Salad, and any type of pasta with Papa Sauce (I prefer parpardelle). Portions are generous and the service is great. I like that it's off the beaten path. Free parking is always a plus.
Great local place, service is a bit lacking.
Nice little place with great pizza. Service was brisk and efficient, portions were generous and everything we had was good.
This place is always amazing. Mouthwatering food, impeccable service.
We were disappointed that they had recently changed the menu. Two of us from a group of five were planning to order a specific main course which we found out is only available on Wednesday evening. Other than this we were satisfied. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive.
This is my favorite restaurant in Napa. The food and service are always excellent. I celebrate my birthday here every year and this was the fifth year I have done so.
Just really liked our meals....comfortable...good service.
Food seemed a bit under seasoned
We returned again tonight second evening in a row to try the Tuesday special Lasagna. Was not disappointed beautifully daily made lasagna pasta in the famous papas recipe bolognese sauce smothered in baked mozzarella. Of course ordered the smoke wild boar parapedelle pasta. This a must try locals choice hidden jewel that only is talked about with a certain local secrecy. Do try it the lemon cannoli is wonderful too.
One of our neighborhood gems! You get treated like family with good service, well priced menu items and nightly specials!
Our first visit. Absolutely stunning. The food was some of the best we have had in the Napa area. And a very warm, cozy atmosphere - with wonderful staff. We will be back soon.
Sunday lunch of four was enjoyable - food good, pleasantly quiet.
Very loud and the meat pie pizza was burnt on the bottom and real greasy, skimpy toppings . The pizza was great last year, something happened big time .
It’s always consistently good! Fresh and it’s our Go-to Italian spot in Napa
Great place, thank you. I don’t think I have the energy.
Advice: leave this review section out!
Always a great experience. Good food where the locals go.
Wonderful & Friendly staff from the Host, to the Bartender to the Server. It was our first time and I went specifically to try the brussel sprouts, but unfortunately they were out of them that evening.
I had the Chicken Piccata and it was very good. We will be returning to try the Butternut Squash Ravioli and the Brussel Sprouts. It was warm & cozy in the booth we sat in, and the ambiance was nice. It was fun to watch the cooks as there is a sort of open kitchen. There is ample parking and in a good neighborhood.
A nice solid meal - same price as all the other places in Napa which means lunch for two is $60 without drinks. Good service. I would go again because it's so close by.
Our dinner was fabulous, as always! My guests were visiting from Memphis and were very pleased with our meal. We had a lovely time. Thank you!

We went on a Monday night because Il Posto supports local charities on Monday night by giving 20% of the bill to your designated charity. We were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful food. We had a Caesar salad and a Pizza made with their Buffalo mozerella, peperoni and sausage. It was delicious and the wait staff was terrific.
