Il Posto Trattoria Ratings and Reviews
This place was amazing. All of their pasta is handmade, in house— including their gluten free pasta! They have an impeccable wine list and the dining area was so cute and cozy. We will definitely come back when we are in town. I highly recommend stopping in. Don’t forget to make reservations!
The fresh ingredients, homemade pastas, pizzas and desserts are fantastic. The chef is very creative with fish and seafood, fantastic bone marrow appetizer, and so much more. The service is top notch and the owner is always there to greet and make certain you have a great dining experience.
I am in Napa quite a few times a year and Il Posto is one of my go-to restaurants. I have always enjoyed the food. The standouts are the bone marrow, Caesar Salad, and any type of pasta with Papa Sauce (I prefer parpardelle). Portions are generous and the service is great. I like that it's off the beaten path. Free parking is always a plus.
We were disappointed that they had recently changed the menu. Two of us from a group of five were planning to order a specific main course which we found out is only available on Wednesday evening. Other than this we were satisfied. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive.
We returned again tonight second evening in a row to try the Tuesday special Lasagna. Was not disappointed beautifully daily made lasagna pasta in the famous papas recipe bolognese sauce smothered in baked mozzarella. Of course ordered the smoke wild boar parapedelle pasta. This a must try locals choice hidden jewel that only is talked about with a certain local secrecy. Do try it the lemon cannoli is wonderful too.
Wonderful & Friendly staff from the Host, to the Bartender to the Server. It was our first time and I went specifically to try the brussel sprouts, but unfortunately they were out of them that evening.
I had the Chicken Piccata and it was very good. We will be returning to try the Butternut Squash Ravioli and the Brussel Sprouts. It was warm & cozy in the booth we sat in, and the ambiance was nice. It was fun to watch the cooks as there is a sort of open kitchen. There is ample parking and in a good neighborhood.
We went on a Monday night because Il Posto supports local charities on Monday night by giving 20% of the bill to your designated charity. We were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful food. We had a Caesar salad and a Pizza made with their Buffalo mozerella, peperoni and sausage. It was delicious and the wait staff was terrific.
After reading reviews we were excited to dine at Il Posto. Sadly we were
disappointed . Although white tablecloth they used paper to cover the table
which is very common. However, we were seated at a table that had oil stains
on the paper which means they didn't change it between customers. The
Pasta Fagioli Soup was incredible as was the pizza. The fried chicken was
brought to the table almost black and overcooked. Although we were told it
was fresh chicken we would question that. If you're looking for protein it is
a very limited menu. Service was so so!
Overall not the best experience and we will not recommend Il Posto
We went for a birthday dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the savory fried brussels sprouts, crispy sausage-stuffed olives, chicken piccata, orriechete with cauliflower and the delicious lemon cannoli. The service was friendly and helpful and the restaurant's interior quite attractive (I remember when that building was a paint store!) We will definitely be back.
My wife ordered side plates. Was Served room temp meatballs and polenta sides. Requested they be warmed up. Waited for replacements then got half order back. Waiter had taken my wife's original half eaten plate away. Had them bag the sides to go because of the wait.
This small, casual neighborhood restaurant consistently serves up great food in a cozy, friendly environment. It is a lot like a small trattoria that might be found all over Italy. We visit friends in Napa on a regular basis and have dined at Il Posto on many occasions. Wait staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Wine selections are very good and reasonably priced. There is a nice variation of pasta dishes and more traditional entrees. We've never been disappointed with any of the food.
Nice neighborhood Resturant, came early no problem.greeted by very nice hostess and mgr. Resturant was full staff was busy , working as a well oiled team . Food was excellent nice presentation but not fancy like a lot of Napa, nice small wine list.Great value would definitely go again!
The calamari appetizer with garlic toast was DELICIOUS! Best dish of the evening! The Calamari is with a zesty red sauce and is a definite must. The duck confit salad was very good. The rigatoni was not great. The pasta was thick and chewy, not enough sauce and meatballs didn’t have a lot of flavor. The oxtail ragu wasn’t very good. The sauce was more of a broth and very bland.
Service was very good; our waiter was very nice and professional! Ambience was lively!
