We go here for the fried olives alone!

What a great find! From the outside, it lacks the fancy outer building that lures you in but Il Posto's menu and abundance of flavor overcomes its exterior. The calamari is not your typical, with the flavor that must be finished with bread. The pasta is made fresh onsite, and melts in your mouth like butter. The rigatoni and meatballs had a sauce that was amazing! Wait staff Luis and Alan were wonderful. We will be back.

Old school Italian with huge portions, real red sauce, and a huge menu. Seems to be a "locals" hang out. If that is your thing this is the place. Personally I thought it was fabulous

We've been to Il Posto quite a few times, and have always enjoyed it. Unfortunately, this time was seriously disappointing. It was a busy night, but it took the server almost 15 minutes to even approach the table. Another 10 minutes for one glass of wine to be brought. And another 10 minutes to take an order. He seemed genuinely uninterested in providing service. We waited while he chatted with other staff. As a former server myself, I have more than the usual patience with busy servers, but this was really lazy and indifferent. Unfortunately, while the food here is generally very good, the eggplant parmesan was tough (yes, tough), swimming in cheese and lacking any flavor.

We'll certainly chalk this up as a one-off, but hopefully management can monitor service a little more carefully.

Service was the best thing about it. Food was ok. Not great but it was tasty. For the price it should have been fantastic.

Superb Italian dining. As we drove up to the restaurant our expectations were moderate, but the food was excellent. Liked the drinks as well.

There were four of us and all the dishes were divine. The Gnocchi with beef cheeks did not have any beef in it! Service was a little slow (server forgot to place order and check in during the meal. Overall we had a great time.

What a pleasant surprise and great find! We will be back.
I’m reluctant to give five stars for any category when I’ve only been there once. But our meals were that good.

They helped make my birthday special! We brought our own bottle of wine and bought another one there (we had somewhat of a large group) their service with both were excellent and they have an amazing wine selection as well. Service was prompt and friendly and knowledgeable, food was incredible and even had leftovers. This is our go to place. Love it!!!

One of us had the stew special, we three agreed it was way too salty. The fried green tomatoes were so loaded that you couldn’t telll what it was. My salad had practically white Romaine, nothing green, but the other salad was good.

We have been several times, this was not the best.

I LOVE this restaurant. Icône here every time I’m in Napa, 5-6 times a year. It’s a sweet, small restaurant away from the tourist area The wait staff is very nice. My favorite is the pasta with papa sauce. Such delicious sauce, I could eat that alone as a meal. They ought to sell it!! Everyone seems to order the stuffed olives.
The Caesar salad is delicious as well. Treat yourself to this terrific restaurant

Great local spot, in fact, my favorite Italian in Napa. Good pasta, good apps, good wine list, great Italian beers. They have a good happy hour. Service is great. It's small and quaint.

The food was pretty authentic. Red sauce was a hearty southern Italian sauce and very tasty. We had eggplant parm and it was very good, but it was really big. We could have split it. Pasta was good and the Risotto balls were delicious. It was not too pricey at all. Only disappointment was the alcohol. They serve beer and wine...of course wine in Sonoma, but we were wined out for the day. So they have this stuff they make mixed drinks out of , but is not really alcohol like you are used to.
Serve was very good and everything came out hot. Friendly staff and nice ambiance. Nothing too stuffy at all.

Terrific locals joint with a country house feel inside; no pretense. The pork belly and white beans is outstanding/nice heat on it. The potato gnocchi was devine. My friend had the veal parm but said it was overcooked; however, the pasta with sweet red pepper sauce that accompanied it was excellent. The caesar salad is also quite good. The restaurant has a nice wines by the glass selection.

Really really good brussel sprouts. Good pasta. Good "Sunday" sauce. Good meatballs.
Bone marrow appetizer, not so much - take a pass. Had to send it back, not right. Everything else here was very nice and the service was excellent. Recommended.

We waited in a crowded area by the entrance because our table was not ready, seriously you could not move, it was so packed. Then the server was not the most attentive, we waited forever for our food. They gave us two of the four plates we had ordered and said it was because they had “run out of meatballs” so those that ordered meatballs waited even longer and then when they got them they were cold, the middle of the meatballs were refrigerator cold. They Comp
the meatball plates and gave us dessert for free but still Won’t be back!

This place was amazing. All of their pasta is handmade, in house— including their gluten free pasta! They have an impeccable wine list and the dining area was so cute and cozy. We will definitely come back when we are in town. I highly recommend stopping in. Don’t forget to make reservations!

We were amazed walking in - adorable ambiance and a light airy feeling.
We took the Italian waiters recommendations- the cannelloni and the rigatoni.
Both were mouth melting.
I would be back in a heartbeat.

I am in Napa quite a few times a year and Il Posto is one of my go-to restaurants. I have always enjoyed the food. The standouts are the bone marrow, Caesar Salad, and any type of pasta with Papa Sauce (I prefer parpardelle). Portions are generous and the service is great. I like that it's off the beaten path. Free parking is always a plus.

We were disappointed that they had recently changed the menu. Two of us from a group of five were planning to order a specific main course which we found out is only available on Wednesday evening. Other than this we were satisfied. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive.
