   We had a wonderful dinner. The seating outside was a bit tight, but it worked out. The service was impeccable! Pastas, pizza& fried olives! Always a must when in Napa.

   Il Posto is always our go to when in Napa. Foot and service excel every time. The fried olives is a staple for us as is the rigatoni and meatballs- just like my grandmother’s. How can you go wrong - we have shared Il Posto with all our friends. See you soon.

   My friends & I planned to visit Napa for wine tasting. I arranged the reservation at Il Posto Trattoria for party of 4 at 6 pm. On Wednesday, we drove to Napa for wine tasting as they are members of the local wine club. After our 3rd and last wine tasting, we called the restaurant as we were running late. We were obliged and arrived at 6:15 pm. When we arrived, the hostess greeted us and took us to our table. We noticed the room was a family oriented but had a romantic setting especially for outdoor dining. The restaurant had the Italian atmosphere. The server was nice who answered all our questions as we were first timers. We asked for hot water only to drink as we had enough of wine for dinner. We ordered Bianca pizza, Bucatini del Pescatore, Tagliatelle & Rigatoni. The menu read all pasta was made fresh in house. We told the server we were eating like a family style. We were given a complimentary slices of sourdough bread with olive oil & balsamic vinegar. The pizza came with thin crust. Then the others followed. We tasted the pasta and it was home made. They were all scrumptious including the pizza but the Bucatini was not hot enough when served. We didn’t know how long the plate was waiting to be served but the sauce was so good. There was a separate small deep plate with chili. I was told it can be added to the pasta and true, it gave the flavor of deliciously sweet, spicy and tangy pasta. When we finished, the server asked if we wanted dessert. My friends said it was my birthday. He said he had something for me. He came with a bowl of vanilla iced cream and small biscotti & a small candle including the dessert menu. It was a nice gesture from the server. We all said to the server how delicious the food was. I recommend this restaurant whenever you’re in Napa. It’s a great Italian restaurant for reasonable price with cozy atmosphere and nice service.

   COLD restaurant (staff in jackets) remained chilly. Cold Bruschetta was served with COLD vegetables (and not wild about flavor - boring). Bread & butter good but scant, my water glass overfull - spilled on to table & menu (water dripping on menu). Our meals were good -pizza, lasagna,risotto,salad with shrimp - and affagodo. Very loud. Table placement next to kitchen staff doors. Expected more - especially after flood of confirmations for our reservation... Our note on reservation not mentioned...

   This is a our local favorite and it's always good. Ivan was great. He took amazing care of us and can answer any question about the food or wine list. The food was great - I had the tagliatelle with short ribs, and it was delish with tons of meat. You should keep it as a permanent menu item. My husband had the Pescadores. It was also great but would recommend a different pasta noodle. The bucatini was a bit heavy with the seafood. If you are considering this entree, go for it, but we recommend asking for the tagliatelle noodle instead. We also enjoyed their Chianti Classico Riserva which was a great match at a very fair price.

    Though we eat in Napa regularly, this was our first visit to I’ll Posto Trattoria. What a great surprise! Excellent starters and pastas, nice decor, and easy to hold a conversation with friends. We will be back soon.
