Il Posto Trattoria Ratings and Reviews
We went on a Monday night because Il Posto supports local charities on Monday night by giving 20% of the bill to your designated charity. We were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful food. We had a Caesar salad and a Pizza made with their Buffalo mozerella, peperoni and sausage. It was delicious and the wait staff was terrific.
After reading reviews we were excited to dine at Il Posto. Sadly we were
disappointed . Although white tablecloth they used paper to cover the table
which is very common. However, we were seated at a table that had oil stains
on the paper which means they didn't change it between customers. The
Pasta Fagioli Soup was incredible as was the pizza. The fried chicken was
brought to the table almost black and overcooked. Although we were told it
was fresh chicken we would question that. If you're looking for protein it is
a very limited menu. Service was so so!
Overall not the best experience and we will not recommend Il Posto
We went for a birthday dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the savory fried brussels sprouts, crispy sausage-stuffed olives, chicken piccata, orriechete with cauliflower and the delicious lemon cannoli. The service was friendly and helpful and the restaurant's interior quite attractive (I remember when that building was a paint store!) We will definitely be back.
My wife ordered side plates. Was Served room temp meatballs and polenta sides. Requested they be warmed up. Waited for replacements then got half order back. Waiter had taken my wife's original half eaten plate away. Had them bag the sides to go because of the wait.
This small, casual neighborhood restaurant consistently serves up great food in a cozy, friendly environment. It is a lot like a small trattoria that might be found all over Italy. We visit friends in Napa on a regular basis and have dined at Il Posto on many occasions. Wait staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Wine selections are very good and reasonably priced. There is a nice variation of pasta dishes and more traditional entrees. We've never been disappointed with any of the food.
Nice neighborhood Resturant, came early no problem.greeted by very nice hostess and mgr. Resturant was full staff was busy , working as a well oiled team . Food was excellent nice presentation but not fancy like a lot of Napa, nice small wine list.Great value would definitely go again!
The calamari appetizer with garlic toast was DELICIOUS! Best dish of the evening! The Calamari is with a zesty red sauce and is a definite must. The duck confit salad was very good. The rigatoni was not great. The pasta was thick and chewy, not enough sauce and meatballs didn’t have a lot of flavor. The oxtail ragu wasn’t very good. The sauce was more of a broth and very bland.
Service was very good; our waiter was very nice and professional! Ambience was lively!
Il Posto Trattoria is a nice find in the Yountvill area and has great Italian food at a reasonable price in a cozy atmosphere. We enjoyed all our dishes: the mixed greens with nice crunchy walnuts, eggplant parmigiana, risotto, and the orrechiette. After topping of the meal with the chocolate bread pudding, we could ask for nothing more.
Not your average Italian restaurant. Happened upon this a year ago due to proximity to Marriott and Hilton Garden on Solano- a healthy walking distance. Made the effort to return this year and worth the trip.
Fresh ingredients , good renditions of classics with flavor combos that make sense but not the same old same old. The sausage stuffed olive frittos are a rich salty indulgence for starters . Nice cocktail menu but stuck to wine list with local and Italian choices that give good options. Rabbit cacciatore special over polenta cakes excellent. Also gnocchi with zucchini, bacon, cabbage. We´re not locals, but lots of families and celebrations here. Knowledgeable staff.
Another great experience here. Took some family from out of town and they loved it! The only thing that could have been better was how long we waited for our food. We noticed that other tables were being served before us, though we were seated first. It wasn't a huge deal, we just couldn't wait for our delicious meals. Will still continue to come here and recommend to friends and family.
While visiting Napa, a friend recommended Il Posto for dinner. We had planned of getting together with another couple we know who lives in Napa and when I told them I made reservations at Il Posto, they weren't too excited. They had been there a few years back and said it wasn't very good. But they were wiling to give it a second chance. All of us left there with the same impression ... it is an awesome dining experience. We started with the fried olives which are worth trying if you haven't had them before. The Caesar salad with extra white anchovies is among the best I've had anywhere. And, we all had different types of pasta ... all of which were excellent. Great wine selection, and the tiramisu is a must-have for desert. Next time we're in Napa, we will return. So will our friends who live there, whose opinion of Il Posto has totally change.
It's wonderful home made pastas and Italian cuisine with a wonderful attentive staff. The noise level does get a bit high in there but worth it for the food. Happy Hour is also wonderful at the bar. Great way to do some sampling. Best Wedding soup. I had the tagliarini that was fabulous. Everyone else cleaned their plates too.
