The restaurant was very quiet at the lunch hour. All the homemade pastas were delicious. We enjoyed our team lunch.
Don’t judge by the look, the food is amazing.
Fabulous in all ways. Menu selection was great and our food was wonderful. A real treasure for Toronto. Our visit is only 4 days but plan on another meal there before we leave.
Nice! Very good food thanks
Appetizers and mains were delicious but desserts were not very good. Very quiet on this particular Friday night. Just our party of 8 and no one else in the restaurant.
Food was decent. Waiter (possibly owner) seemed impatient and not very helpful.
We celebrated my father-in-law’s 89th birthday on a Sat afternoon. They treated us like family and the food was delicious! Looking forward to another visit when their patio is open!
Friendly service. Timing for food service was efficient but not rushed. The quality was excellent. Glad to recommend it to anyone.
Great food, clean place, quiet. Was there for winterlicious so it was totally worth it. I’d go back like on a date or friends get together.
The food was very average for the price. Nothing that stands out in terms of anything.
Also please never order the tiramisu here - it’s absolutely pathetic. Even tiramisu sold in packets taste better.
The food was worthy of high recommendation. Service was top standard, cordial, warm and efficient.
The ambience is nice but can use a light updating. Perhaps mount gorgeous art work that leans to finish the look, add some elegant lighting. We have already recommended this as a must-try in Yorkville.
In serious need of a renovation. Decor is from the 90’s. Chipped paint, ripped carpet.
We've visited this restaurant before in the past to celebrate a special event but not on a regular basis. It's exceptionally quiet especially during the weekdays unlike many other noisy establishments. Let's face it, this is an expense place to dine. If it is worth it well, that remains in the eyes of the guest.
I recall that the portions were generous in the past as well as very tasty. It is my suggestion that management consider "bumping up" the portions of their dishes.
I'm not at liberty nor that overly culinary savvy to condemn the efforts of their chef(s) in their quest to satisfy the expectations of their guests.
Our only waiter on duty was pleasant, polite and most helpful with his suggestions regarding the supported menu.
Our experience at the restaurant was good overall. The food was good, however, the overall ambience is lacking and is dated. There needs to be an investment made to the restaurant to bring it up to date or people will not return...
We sat outside in the courtyard. Service was excellent and the food was very good and well prepared. Friendly service -- quiet in the courtyard with nice music and perfect for a relaxing dinner with conversation. We would definitely return. The interior of the restaurant looked nice but sitting in the courtyard was more relaxing and pleasant on a summer evening.
Always fabulous food in a quiet formal setting...perfect for a special occasion and important conversations! Can’t beat the location! Best value for fine dining in Yorkville!
The food was good but service not at all. The waiters were unprofessional, nagged about other tables not tipping them, was difficult to get separate bills since the reservation was under one person, overall won’t be a place I would visit again.
The restaurant was empty at noon, and it deserved much better. The service was vy good, the waiter attentive and offered suggestions on request. The food was excellent, caesar salad, portobello mushrooms, calamari apps, and grilled shrimps, pasta mains. Not cheap but worth it.
This is one of the only restaurants in the city where you can enjoy a good meal and conversation without shouting over loud music.
The chef is a master! Everything is cooked to perfection!never disappointed here. Great menu and wine. Service is amazing! Hidden gem in Yorkville, hope other people rediscover it too!
A wonderful family evening with fine food, professional service, and a calm atmosphere in a great location. Highly recommended.
Visiting from out of town. Very happy we chose to celebrate Valentines Day here. The rose for my fiancee was a very nice touch, thank you. Would definitely recommend you and visit again.
I came here with two of my girlfriends and we've all loved the food. We had the calamari, which was so delicious and well seasoned - we all agreed that we could easily eat an entire barrel of it. We also had the classic spaghetti and Bolognese sauce, and the desserts were also amazing. Great quiet, classy atmosphere, and since we came during winterlicious, the price was great. I would definitely come back!
This is a quiet, cosy and authentic Italian restaurant on the edge of Yorkville. Very welcoming and professional staff. The food was great - good, clean flavours. We were able to walk from our hotel on Bloor. Recommend.
On an evening when businesses were closing their doors due to freezing rain, we were delighted that this quaint Italian restaurant was open and honoured our Open Table reservation. The owner was a delight - friendly and spot on with his recommendations. I started with the Beef Carpaccio generously sprinkled with fresh grated Parmesan and my spouse had the colourful and flavourful Caprese Salad. For my entree we had the veal medallions Il Posto and veal chop. The portions were perfect and accompaniments were fresh, flavourful presented with creative flair. We didn’t have room for dessert but that didn’t stop us from ordering the chocolate banana meringue cake and a bowl of Amaretto ice cream. We are big fans of restaurants that can serve up traditional recipes with creativity and we were not disappointed. Thank you Sokol and chef for sticking around!
Had a Buisness meeting in Dec 2017. Luncheon service was excellent, food was fine, and price was reasonable.
Suitable for intimate dining. Cozy.
Great menu selection. Food was very good. Service was great.
I came here with my family on a Friday evening just as the restaurant opened. The restaurant is set in a very cute area and is quite stylish inside. For starters, we ordered the antipasto and were also provided with complimentary warm bread. We also took advantage of the specials and ordered the carrot/ginger soup, lobster pasta and veal chop dishes. I ordered the spinach and ricotta ravioli, which I thought were good but over-stuffed. Everything was very tasty. The only thing I will say was the waiter was a little odd. He kind of questioned the things we were ordering and two people ordered 3 dishes to share with each other which he found odd.
I’d almost forgotten this restaurant existed but it’s there and still very much the same! Amazing Italian food. Wait staff were very good and then gone! All had different food and it was delicious! Not crowed in fact barely frequented which is an error on diners choices! Come on back to a great dining experience
Il Posto is tucked back into a brick building. The interior is like stepping back into the 80s. I guess it was quite a place then. We were there on a Saturday night and there was only 5-6 tables total. It was a bit depressing. They have a huge patio and I imagine it's popular for outdoor dining. Our waiter was great. He had a good sense of humor and has been there almost since the restaurant opened. I had the veal scaloppini and my husband had pasta. Prices were a bit high considering the atmosphere and food quality.
Excellent food, friendly and courteous staff. The patio surrounded by plants and flowers is quiet haven.
Waiter was great! Food was delish- but small portions- we were all hungry and went for more food when we left :(
Food is generally good. Service is a little slow for a restaurant with not a height volume of guests.
Our Waiter Pedro was very amicable and a great server, service was very good. Lunch special of pasta with lobster very nice. One piece of lobster was tough but edible.
We ordered veal samba which they made and it is not on menu, they did a great job.
We shall miss the restaurant when they close due to construction.
a quiet gem in Yorkville, under the canopy.
We went as a family with a Groupon just to check it out. The food was okay, nothing special but not bad. Could be a really cute place to eat, especially with the amazing location, it is Yorkville after all. But the decor and ambiance really need updating, the restaurant is so dark and outdated. We were really disappointed. In the end, it is not a lovely place to enjoy a night out, but with some updating it could be.
pasta was excellent. Very good wine selection as well.
The food was exquisite. The service excellent. We had a great time. A good place if you want to talks
Excellent lunch in the courtyard.
Typical, reasonably authentic Italian restaurant. "Hidden" location off Avenue Road, with pleasant patio. Good first and pasta dishes. Didn't try a "secondo." Generous wine list.
