Great food and drinks. They play Oldies music so the vibe of the place is relaxed while still feeling upscale due to the design and service. We eat here often!

The only issue was that the restaurant was very loud. We had a group of eight people and not only could we not all talk to each other easily, I could barely hear the people seated right across from me. The food was good though!

I was in Chicago for business and, since I don't get to have much authentic Italian food at home, I sought out a restaurant that I could get some excellent pasta or other classic Italian dish. After a little bit of internet searching I learned that this place was literally just around the corner from my hotel. That made it easy to access especially since I wanted someplace I could walk to (even though the weather was nasty that evening).

The food was almost entirely delicious. Although I'd hope to be able to order risotto, there was none on the menu that evening. Low and behold, however, the server brought me a free order of couple of deep-fried risotto balls perched on a small dab of marinara sauce. Yum! For my entree I had the chicken parmesan, which was scrumptious. I also had a side salad (sans salami) that was very refreshing. I couldn't finish the parmesan, and took it back to my hotel fridge (and ate for dinner the following evening). Even though I was stuffed, I decided to try the salted caramel semifreddo for dessert. It was pretty good, but was not really made with salted caramel in the way that understand that food to mean. It was mostly custard with some decorative caramel on top, and then a sprinkling of salt on top of that. That the salt was not incorporated in the caramel meant that the blend of sweet and not sweet was not well calibrated, and overall was a bit like licking a salt lick. I would not have that dessert again! (That's the only reason I didn't not give this place 5 stars for "Food.").

The service was excellent. Sammi (I think that was her name) was an attentive and knowledgeable waiter, and the servers were swift and sure.

We were visiting Chicago from Boston and found Il Porcellino on Yelp. We made a reservation and were welcomed upon arrival. Our server was very helpful with making appetizer and entree decisions.
She also made suggestions on where to visit while in town. We split a few different items off the menu and finished with dessert and cappuccino. Great spot!

Last minute reservation. Wanted something close to our hotel. Did not disappoint overall. Staff was wonderful. Loved the Brussel sprouts and calamari. Had the gnocchi.....it was so so, as well as the chicken parm and tortellini, which were both good. (Too much food for two people.). Chianti was lovely. Would certainly go there again if in town.

A bit pricey, but our new "go-to" place downtown. Love the food and music. The wait staff is very attentive. Perfect for a date or to celebrate an anniversary.

Fantastic food and service. The only complaint I have is that they did not offer freshly grated parmesan cheese to top the pasta dishes, and I believe Italian food that good should have freshly grated parmesan cheese!!

Catherine, our server in the bar area, was excellent, and very patient with us as we made our decision for cocktails. And the food was lovely, especially the eggplant Parmesan. We did have a little complaint with the grilled calamari, it was a bit too chewy, and I would not order that again.
We really enjoyed the casual atmosphere, and the great music that was playing. We were a bit disappointed, that there wasn’t Italian music being played in Italian restaurant. We thought there would be more Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin playing in the background! But it certainly did not take away from our great experience

I eat quite often at IL Porcellino because I absolutely love the food. However, I was quite disappointed last night with the garlic shrimp alla Martin. The pasta was over cooked and the shrimp were very bland. I asked for some lemons to give it some form of flavor, but didn’t do the trip. A friend had taken me thee to celebrate my promotion, so needless to say, I was so disappointed. Just wasn’t a good choice for dinner.

We have been to this restaurant a dozen times. It is very good food and very reasonable prices. They can accommodate all size parties. Great menu full of great Italian choices for entrees and many appetizers. Everything we have tried is good. So a good go to spot for us and our friends or family.

As usual, everything was first-rate. Something new for me was the "bartender's choice": tell them what you like or don't like in a cocktail (type of liquor, sweet or not, etc.) and the they will create a unique drink for you.

The special with pasta, shrimp, calamari got high ratings from the members of the group.

Pretty darn mediocre. We were surprised how meh our meal was because the reviews on Opentable were good. If you like middle of the road, mass market Italian in a somewhat kitschy old-school setting, then this is for you. I expected better from a newer LEYE restaurant. There were four of us, and while our guests were polite and said they liked it, neither of them cleaned their plates. Except for the brussel sprouts --they were very good. Will not be going back.

Love this place! They have special touches like no other - they know what you liked on your last visit and being it straight to you! It’s like going to your fav restaurant and they know you and what you like! There isn’t anywhere in Chicago where they pay this much attention to you and what you have liked/ disliked! Feels like an old (in a good way) Italian bar where you feel at home!!!

Loved the food, the service and the MUSIC..was perfect..not too mellow nor overpowering and drowning out our conversation. Went to celebrate a friend's bday and we both loved everything. The ambience us great, a tad too busy for a Wednesday evening but all good. Our server was helpful in helping us select the entrees. Having lived in Italy my expectation of Italian food is rather high. But both the burrata and the linguine with clams was delicious. Will definitely come here for a date night with hubby!

The garlic bread was wonderful! Caesar and caprese salads were excellent. Host and waitstaff were warm and inviting. Lasagne was just okay and the meatballs in the spaghetti and meatballs were barely warm. Because we were going to the theater, didn’t want to send them back to be heated through.

We had a reservation for a booth and had to wait 30+ min from the scheduled time to be seated.

Once seated, there were long gaps between visits from the waiter.

Food was less than mediocre. I ordered chicken limone and aglio olio pasta. The chicken was passable, but the pasta was so over cooked to where it was inedible. And the garlic was just whole cloves tossed in with olive oil.
I think this is the first Italian restaurant that can’t get spaghetti right.

Desert was proseco and grapefruit sorbetto that tasted like neither of those ingredients

In the the end, it was a $160 meal that wasn’t worth $60.

Good food. I felt like we were rushed out and that the water was replenished so many times that it became a real annoyance. The choice of 60s music seemed out of sync with the theme/cuisine. No child's menu? That is also strange for a big city restaurant.
I'd probably go back, but apart from the food, not the best experience with a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant.

We came in from out of town and the restaurant was suggested by our hotel’s website. We had appetizers, drinks, dinner and dessert. Everything was amazing and we would definitely go back. Drinks were expensive but I think that was just being in the city.
