I thought it was about time to introduce my cousins to my favorite. They are serious foodies. After having the Brussels sprouts, Burrata lasagna and the Tuscan cheese bread, they are ready to declare Il Porcellino THEIR new favorite.

We were in town for the first time and this restaurant was right around the corner from our hotel. We got a recommendation from a friend. Everything about this place was great. We loved it! Our waiter was very good. Food was amazing. The waiter went out of his way to make it a wonderful experience for my birthday and made sure we got our in time to get to a show. House Chianti was very good!

Great food and service. Our waiter, I believe his name was Erik, was awesome and very friendly. Some of the best Italian food I’ve had in Chicago.

My girlfriend and I came out for Valentines Day, the hostess was helpful and kind. Our server as well as bartender CJ was fantastic. He was informative and accommodating. The cocktails we had were flawless. The entrees we ordered were to die for and the dessert was delicious. We definitely plan to visit again. Thanks for such a great night!

A group of 10 of us went out on a Saturday night. Our reservations were for 6pm, And we didn’t leave until 9:00!!! Maybe they were short staffed or maybe our waiter had a lot of tables. We ordered drinks and appetizers right away. Got them, and then nothing for at least 30 minutes. Finally ordered dinner and a second round of drinks. Dinner came out fairly quick. From dinner on, the time just dragged. It took forever to get our bill as well.

But I will say the restaurant is really nice! Love the ambiance. The food is good too. I would like to go back for this reason.

I just want to thank everyone that works there. I will be coming back forever. Not only is the food fantastic the people that work there are so friendly and really take care of you. Words can not describe the place, if I could live there I would. I can not wait to go back. Thank you again for such a wonderful time.

SO incredibly disappointed with the service I had at this restaurant. As a long-term, loyal Lettuce Entertain You customer, I could not believe the horrible service I received planning a large group dinner. Two days before a large group dinner I scheduled months in advance, the restaurant called for the 5th+ time to "confirm" and share that we suddenly had to have a set family-style menu, set price, were prohibited from ordering off the restaurant week or normal menu, and would be charged an event fee for having a party larger than 9. Wish they would have told me this when I made the original reservation!!! They were not accommodating and did not work to meet a compromise at all, not even for ONE group meal considering it was their fault with the lack of communication, even after speaking with several managers.

Celebrated our son's 22nd. The staff was prepared, knew it was his birthday from my Open Table reservation. Attentive. Good at recommending menu items. Food was very good.

Really enjoyed the music and atmosphere here. Good food, portions were small though (oddly our portions seemed smaller than other tables, even the wine serving it was weird). Despite this I would definitely go again really fun spot.

Was very pleased with our dining experience at Il Porcellini. The garlic cheese bread was outstanding and probably the best I've ever had. The portion sizes were perfect and their tomato sauce exceeded my expectations. Can't wait to go back to try more items on their menu! We did not go home hungry!

The music was somewhat loud (Speaker right above us). When asked the management turned it down a bit. Everything else was wonderful! We will definitely go back (but sit away from the music speakers). :0)

Everything we had was wonderful, but the thing we liked best was the enthusiastic/passionate manager who came over to our table when we were seated and told us about the menu and how everything had evolved over time. Our waiter was also extremely well-versed in preparation/ingredients of everything on the menu, and was also helpful in selecting wine and cocktails.
Our only knocks were that some of the portions were underwhelming, like the tuna carpaccio and the gnochi, but everything else was a decent value. The place was extremely busy, and very loud as a result.

It's a throwback to old school Italian joints complete with red check tablecloths and chianti in baskets. The food isn't too exciting , but service and decor are nice.
