Great food and service, the music was too loud to hear my guest. There was also only 3 bathrooms which was frustrating when waiting in line every time I had to use the washroom

Wife and I met there with friends and had a delightful dinner. Picked this place on the basis of reviews and it didn’t disappoint. We each had something different and enjoyed it. I had the lasagna and it was spectacular!

This place is may be what you might expect from a chain type restaurant>>>a lot of choices but none of the food was out of this world. It was certainly passable but not up to par with some other Italian places in Chicago. It can get very pricey quickly>>>our bill for 4 was $300 with the tip. The wait staff was great as was the wine guy>>>very accomadating and friendly>>>went along with the table banter very well. This place is very loud and if you are with a soft spoken person>>>good luck!!! they do serve a frothy lemoncello @$11 a hit that is very nice as a after dinner drink>>>would recommend this even at $11. If a group were going here I wouldn't fight the majority rules but for my tastes I wouldn't choose this place again. Also should mention, the background music which is also" loudish" is all late 50 early 60s which I happen to like, but I never got the connection of the music to the place or clientele.

We arrived on time with reservations and we were told they were running late and to wait at the bar. We ordered drinks mainly to kill time to get a $29 bar bill for two ordinary drinks. This felt like suspicious.

I love the decor of the room. Everything we had was very solid. Prices seem a little high, but no more than comparable Italian restaurants in River North. Will come back. 3 of us shared the Tuscan Cheese Bread, small Italian Salad, orchiette with brocollini and sausage, and chicken vesuvio. Had the chocolate cake and the grapefruit-prosecco sorbet. Enjoyed all of those. The only thing to criticize us the wine list which seemed too pricey. Had a glass of the Super Tuscan #2 which was only OK but not worth the $15. The cheaper wines by the glass were described as light or thin. Either this is an attempt to up sell wines and implies an unnecessarily poor selection of affordably priced wines.

My fiancée and I are here for her birthday and we were not disappointed. The ambiance is great and the decorations were unlike anything we have seen in other restaurants. Food was terrific - we started with fried calamari and Caesar salads and then had the orecchiette with broccolini and sausage and gnocchi’s with bolognese sauce. I had also called ahead and asked they do something for her birthday - they came out with ice cream and a candle which was very nice. Overall, great experience. Wait staff was very helpful as well!

We requested a more private table for a special occasion in anticipation, and after making us wait 30 minutes past our reservation time, they seated us right in the middle of the main floor and gave walk-ins more private tables on the sides. The host did not even apologize for the wait, and looked away as we were requesting an approximate estimate of time. Apart from that, the food and service was great.

Went on a date for NYE. First time here. The ambiance is very nice. A lot of lights everywhere but the overall lighting is dim. It’s very romantic and nice. Almost every table was full while we were there. I ordered the salmon with kale and it was amazing. Best salmon I’ve ever had. For desert, we had the salted caramel custard-like cake- it wasn’t anything special. Too much flavor, probably won’t be getting this again. The prices are very reasonable too. All of the staff is very friendly and attentive as well. I will definitely be coming back. Great business.

This restaurant replaced the old Paris Club, which was one of my favorite restaurants. This restaurant is far more casual; whereas, the Paris Club was more of a suite and tie type of place. The service was attentive and polite without being obtrusive. The food was wonderful. We were there for New Years Eve dinner and the place was very festive.

Our waiter, Jim, who we found out is usually a bar tender but you never would have known it, was extremely knowledgeable. He had great suggestions, was willing to accommodate almost any special request and was just plain a very good guy. The manager on duty was also a good guy. The food was authentic Italian. The wine suggestions were excellent. Fantastic dining experience. Some of the most flavorful Italian food I have ever experienced. Thanks.

The food and the customer service were fantastic. Fantastic meatballs. Exceptional marinara. Loved that they carry bottled Italian beer. Sad that they ran out of tiramisu. I would have rated the place 5 stars except for I did not care for the loud 50's music they played. It was hard to have a conversation because of it. I was hoping for soft Italian music . The place otherwise has a cool vibe.

Really lovely restaurant with cute decor and quality service. Some of the dishes were bland despite having beautiful presentation. We would probably recommend this to people in case the issue was just with the dishes we ordered, but would prefer going back to RPM Italian for an upscale Italian meal.

Went on a date night with my wife, everything was very fun and energetic. The restaurant's food matches its ambiance in that they are both lively, flavorful, and delicious. The restaurant is loud so if you are looking for a quiet place this isn't it. Probably not the best for a first date or when you really are trying to focus on conversation versus a night out with spouse, long time family/friends.

This restaurant was delightful from start to finish. Within the first few minutes, three people had come by to check on us and take orders. When asked for suggestions they actually suggested a few great drinks and dishes, rather than standard, “it’s all good.”
Music was 50s and 60s, at volume so we could hear our conversation but not other tables.
Food was delicious, with some spice to it, in moderate servings, not enormous platters. My black bass was perfect, and kids loved orecchiette. Wonderful start to finish.

We had a nice meal and great service here after after seeing a show in Chicago. Really can't go wrong here. Lively place with good food. I enjoyed the linguine and clams. It's pricey, but we knew that going in. I'd go again.

The menu at il Porcellino has a lot more than Pork (which I thought was its original vibe). The room is essentially a large square surrounding the bar. Decorated over the top with wall mounted and ceiling hung stuff which make it seem cozy. But there are no "intimate booths". You come here to be with the other guest-strangers. The high point is the food. We found every menu choice excellent and the three of us each were impressed with the taste and preparation of our food.

The garlic bread and steak were fabulous. The donuts were exceptional especially the marscapone dip. Our waitress was fabulous and attentive. 1 issue was no cups with lids for our 2 kids. I understand this is a certain type of restaurant but a paper cup with a lid goes a long way. Otherwise was great.
