We had a wonderful visit! The service was impeccable- fast and very knowledgeable of the menu. The food was top notch- could quickly become one of our go-to spots when we visit Chicago! Thank you again for making our anniversary dinner so special!
Our server was amazing! Dinner was great, I look forward to coming back!
Very good meetballs and the place are Beautifull, good choice
Perfect in every way. Great music, generous portions and congenial atmosphere. Everything delicious!
Absolutely lovely staff and amazing food and ambiance. Highly recommend for any occasion.
Went here for my mom’s birthday dinner and the staff was really nice. The food was great and they even gave us free ice cream!
Service was outstanding. Prime rib meatballs were outstanding. Other appetizers such as both kinds of calamari, house salad and Burrata were average. Raviolis were very good. Go with pastas for an entree vs a chicken dish which were small.
Food was phenomenal. Service was superb. Shout out to our incredible waiter, Benson. He deserves a raise!!
Food was fantastic, atmosphere was perfect, service was spot-on, and we can’t wait to eat there again.
Get the lasagna and tiramisu! You won't regret it.
Best meatballs ever!!
It was very romantic, intimate, and delicious food. Service was quick. Overall great spot and great food.
Everything was fantastic except for the service. We came in to celebrate a birthday and spend the night out. We arrived before our set reservation time, so we had a drink at the bar. We were seated after visiting the bar and gave our appetizer orders. Just after placing our appetizer orders our waitress came back and asked if we were ready to order our entrees. We ordered and then our appetizers and entrees came out at the same time. We asked to have the entrees taken back until we were ready for them and our waitress denied our request. We felt rushed and had to eat everything all at once. Then, our waitress came back very fast and asked about dessert. We asked for a minute before ordering in order to slow down our experience and enjoy our night out. Then, after ordering our dessert, the mini powdered donuts we ordered took longer to come out than our entire dining experience. In addition to the terrible timing of food deliveries, our waitress was very cold and unfriendly. Food was great, but the celebration/night out experience was ruined by the service. Very disappointed.
We dined at il Porcellino on a Sunday night. It was surprisingly busy for a Sunday. We wanted to get a feel for the food so we ordered 3 appetizers and 5 main entrees to share. Overall, the food was amazing! The signature lasagna was very filling but a bit sweet. The cheese bread is not to be missed. The tiramisu was delicious but it was a bit cold so had it been left out longer, it would have been perfect. Would definitely recommend it and will be going back for more!
Love everything about this restaurant. Cozy atmosphere, good food, nice people, good service, good cocktails and wine.
Great food and service!
Amazing food, amazing staff, beautiful restaurant!!
Amazing meal and amazing service - get the ravioli!
Not covid safe at all. Very disappointed and will not return.
Always a smashing hit for even the pickiest of eaters!
We have given this restaurant several tries. We are neighbors. While the food is excellent, the musical genre and playlists 50s & 60s are odd, annoying , and don’t fit the vibe of an Italian trendy restaurant. We decided we just can’t come back. The playlist is so awful that it’s distracting. 😆. We are 60 years old and we hate it. Don’t know how younger patrons can stand it. Disappointed because food is excellent and we live so close 😔
Kathleen, thank you for your honest feedback on our playlist. We appreciate your opinion.
cozy.food is excellent! Seems like a neighborhood place, but we are tourists and loved it!
Thanks so much Jen! We loved having you.
Waiter from Buffalo was very attentive and had good recommendations.
We were a little sad the sea food tower was not on the current menu.
That was Brian, we are so happy you enjoyed. Thank you for the kind words.
Went for a friends birthday. Great food, service and they gave us a free birthday dessert.
Went for early bday dinner and the staff really goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable . Everything was perfect!
Way too loud! Challenge to hear the others at the table. Service was average. Food average not worth for what you were paying for.
Il Porcellino was absolutely perfect for my 25th birthday dinner. I had a weekend trip planned to Chicago and when trying to find places for dinner, this one was highly recommended and I am so glad I chose it. The atmosphere is inviting and intimate and the food was absolutely wonderful. I hope to be back for my 26th birthday!
First timer here and let me tell you it was amazing and our waiter was very helpful!
Excellent experience! Incredible food and great staff!
Excellent food and service. The October pasta special was scrumptious. My husband’s chicken piccata was excellent as well. Our waitperson was efficient, friendly, and very welcoming. Despite being crowded, service was topnotch and attentive. We always have a good time in your dining room.
Love love love this restaurant - best Italian in river north and so good it is now impossible to get a reservation!
I do have one critique - in all the menu items I order (the shrimp scampi and the vodka pasta) I notice that the spice level of these dishes is sometimes extreme, and I’m someone who can handle a good amount of heat.
I’m not sure if someone is just being over-eager with the red pepper but on a vodka pasta or a scampi, that level of spice is not appropriate in my mind.
Thank you for the review. Your feedback about the spice level is crucial. Thank you for sharing.
I was disappointed that Porcelino didn’t have their breaded artichoke anymore from the time we visited a few years ago, but everything was delicious. (This is hard dish to make, and not everyone understands how to enjoy it! It’s hard to find)
Chopped salad was a real standout and everyone at the table loved it. Cocktails also top notch for my wife’s birthday. With a week’s advance reservation we were placed in a lovely corner booth.
Beer taps were out of order, coffee had to be brought over from another restaurant. I get that the service industry is still getting back on its feet and adjustments are still happening all over, which is why I only knock it down to a b+ or A-
Paul, we will be way more prepared with both beer and coffee for your next visit. Come see us again soon please. Thanks for the honest feedback.
Loved the atmosphere and fantastic service and food!!
Amazing food and staff. While not specifically for kids our 10 and 6 year old really enjoyed it!
Perfect spot for our business meeting. Staff sat us in the corner booth where a glass divider kept any kitchen noise from overpowering our conversation. We were visited regularly, given our drinks & food with perfect timing, and everything tasted great. I will definitely come back again.
Try the Very Special Lasagna - it didn’t disappoint. We had great service from friendly staff and the food was fabulous. A lovely interior that doesn’t feel designed, yet has a nice ambiance. Sorry e we didn’t have room for dessert, but I can’t imagine these folks do anything badly.
Food was excellent.
Server seemed either distracted or overwhelmed, though the restaurant was nearly empty on a Sunday afternoon-he was MIA for most of our meal.
We will return again in the future, though.
Very nice restaurant with good food. Our server, Malcolm, was attentive and friendly. We'd definitely come back to try some of the other menu items when we're back in the city.
