This was truly a taste of Italy. Fantastic food in a warm, inviting environment. Had some of the best linguine and clams that I have ever had in the U.S., and that's saying a lot. The homemade pasta is delicious, and the three meat sauce something a little different. Grilled calamari was really tasty, as were the meatball and clams appetizers. Only disappointment was the Caesar salad. It had the same lack of flavor as the salad at Di Pescara (another Lettuce Entertain You restaurant.) I wish all the LEY restaurants would go back to the more garlicy anchovy flavor that they had years ago. Service was truly excellent.
It was my boyfriends birthday. We made a reservation for 7p on a Saturday. We got there and had a 20 min wait because of how popular the place was. No worries, the host let us know we could get a drink at the bar while we wait. And we did. After our first drink our table was ready. The food was amazing! Our waitress was extremely friendly and let us know of all the great menu items. Very knowledgeable. She even brought us hot towels after our appetizer to freshen up our hands (we had the garlic bread, 10/10). I would definitely recommend. I also recommend getting a reservation, it seemed like a long wait for people just walking in.
My friends and I had a great dinner at il Porcellino this past weekend! Our waiter was amazing and we all really enjoyed the food and ambiance. I would highly recommend it!
Great service and good once we finally got seated
Just a very nice experience. All staff from host to bartender to server was professional and kind. Very good drink menu and the food was outstanding!
Great food, great service!
Lucy made it a terrific experience for me and all my guests. Can’t wait to go back!
Everything was excellent!
Great experience... Very cool vibe. Great authentic italian dishes. Exceptional service (even delivering of an awesome cherry dessert the birthday... which they just overheard about). A bit pricey but within reason. Will definitely go back
We were in Chicago looking for authentic Italian restaurant. iL Porcellino was a terrific option. The food was great and so was the service. Highly recommend.
Excellent Food and Service! Very nice place to go with friends and Family
Our wait for our table was a little longer than expected but the staff was quick to apologize and make it right! Food and service were outstanding. It was definately worth the wait!
I do not recommend coming here if it is busy- even with a reservation!
We made a reservation for the two of us for 8:30pm. We were not sat until 9:15pm. We were even promised a table and it was given up right in front of us.
Finally, the owner sat us and apologized, but then pushed drunks on us.
The service was great. The restaurant was clearly overbooked and management made sure to help the servers and to give out appetizers and while we waited for our food (another 45 mins after ordering immediately).
Unfortunately, the food was not worth the wait in our opinion. I’m sure the food would be great if it wasn’t a whole debacle to get it.
All in all, stay far away if it’s busy. Unorganized when over booked and the kitchen was overwhelmed.
after waiting more than 30 minutes for a table (the reservation was made a month ago), they redeemed themselves with outstanding food and service. Will definitely be back!
Loved this spot while visiting Chicago. Food was excellent, and great service. We ordered the gnocchi bolognese and the meatballs in a mushroom sauce over polenta. Both were perfect, and the salted caramel per our servers suggestion is the perfect end to a meal!
The best chicken parmesan we've ever had along with the homemade meatballs. We will be back it was delicious and just what we needed on this cool fall night! Cozy atmosphere...
We were almost an hour late for our reservation, I called to let them know, and they could not have been nicer. I was on a trip with 3 of my students, and we ate here before going to see Hamilton, so we were worried about being late, losing our table, or not having enough time. They could not have been more gracious. Our table was ready, the service was fast and our waitress was so nice, and the food was great. We all loved our dishes and enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant as well. Would definitely recommend.
The food was great highly recommend you add the homemade bread to the pasta
Entrees were generous and all very satisfying. Desserts were fabulous. We had a white pear sorbetto (delicious and hands down the most popular at our table), bombolinos which were so light and airy they didn't even need the hot fudge and whip cream that accompanied them and we liked them, too, tiramisu was tasty and the butterscotch pie was rich and satisfied the sweetest sweet tooth at the table.
The garlic bread and drinks were good but the spaghetti wasn't as good as I hoped it would be.
Everything was delicious until the server threw away our leftovers! Went to the bathroom and came back. People sitting at the table. I asked where are my leftovers, the server said “i threw them away, and I will have to pay for it if you want it!!
Open Table marked this spot as "exceptional" and I'd have to agree. It was crowded when we walked in on Saturday night about 15-minutes shy of our reservation time of 7 pm. We were seated at the bar almost immediately as we'd asked for a booth and none were available yet. The bartenders were great! Very knowledgeable and fun and explained every drink they were making from its history to its ingredients. It was as if we had tickets to a private show and we loved every minute of it. Al, assume the owner or at least the manager, came over to let us know it would be a few more minutes, as now it was after 7. Gotta love a well-oiled machine and a manager that cares about your wait! We were finally seated about 7:20 and helped by a great young server who's name sadly escapes me. I ordered the burrata lasagna while my husband ordered the orecchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe, both were outstanding and not overly priced. With a delicious bottle of super Tuscan wine and dessert/coffee, we were out the door with tip under $200, which isn't easy to do in downtown Chicago! This spot is not only exceptional because of their food, but their employees are obviously treated well and enjoy their jobs. Not one unpleasant or unhelpful person in the entire restaurant! I am always going to return here for dinner when I come to Chicago as it's a great spot that makes you feel like you're eating in Grandma's kitchen!
Food and service were very good, fun atmosphere
An energetic, neighborhood establishment. The front area is more bar-like with high top tables. The rest is seated dining. There are couples and families all eating together. The music was a little loud, but it enhanced the vibe of the restaurant.
The food and atmosphere was amazing. Great service
Dinner was great. We all enjoyed it. Good food and cool atmosphere. The only thing is that I had included in my reservation that it was my twins birthday yet it was not even acknowledged by the restaurant. If I had know that a birthday wish or candle was outside of their service options, we would have had dessert elsewhere. This is not the first time I have had this problem with an LEYE restaurant.
We went to the restaurant for our anniversary dinner. The waiter never brought us the complimentary bread when we ordered meatball dish even though he was reminded. Also, although I marked it on the app that we are celebrating our anniversary, they didn’t say anything nor bring us anything special.
there were 4 of us and we did the family dinner.
more than enough food and great options to choose.
I would definitely go back
This was some of the best authentic Italian food I have had. Terrific menu, and great service. I would go back there in a heartbeat.
Dinner was fantastic, the downgrade on service was on the hostess; our party arrived in 2 groups about 40 min apart. The first 2 had a drink and a cocktail in the bar waiting...and this somehow then meant we were dining in the bar area.
They recovered and got us seated on time yet, but the confusion was unexpected and stressful for a moment.
Meal was outstanding, Chicken Vesuvio and Parm were both great, loved the garlic bread. Wish we had room for dessert, saw some go by and they looked great.
We enjoyed dinner with friends. We were seated on time but it took a while before the waiter returned for our order. Great pasta!
Celebrating birthday in Chicago! Our server was phenomenal. Food and wine were delicious.
We had a reservation at 8 and unfortunately had to wait about 15 minutes after that to be seated but the staff was very nice and made up for it with impeccable service as well as several free appetizers. The food was very good and reasonably priced.
Food was great, drinks were expensive, typical for the city, but still a bit of a shock. Food prices were good though.
Had a reservation but was seated 15 minutes late as the place was very busy. On the higher end of the decibel level. Service was good. Food was tasty. Portions were surprisingly generous. Moderately priced.
Omg MUST GET the lasagna!!!! 😍😍
They made delicious traditional spagetti carbonara for me even though it is not on the menu. Service was attentive and the overall experince delightful.
A minor delay in being seated, showered with complimentary appetizers (multiple) that were absolutely fantastically delicious. The same goes for all of our meals. I will definitely return when visiting Chicago again.
Food and vibe was excellent! Our server was a little standoffish and rude and the food took a long time to come out considering it was a very late dinner so it wasn't that busy. This is a great place to enjoy a sit down meal
Nice food, nice staffs.
I could luckily make it maybe because someone haa canceled it. It was just kind a coincident meeting with this place, but I was totally satisfied with this place.
