OMG what a terrific meal! Not only were we surprised by the $5 Tito’s martinis tonight (very nice!) the tuna with risotto was the best I have ever had. Totally delicious meal that was expertly prepared and presented. Great find!
Way too many kids unsupervised & over indulged. Children have no place here. Stick to somewhere with a children’s menu. Do what responsible parents like we do, get a sitter for 2hrs.
Great service, gnocchi was very good and we were seated right away for a 7:45 reservation. Would definitely go back
A great place to go on Valentines Day. Had the rigatoni and split a chopped salad with my wife. Both were excellent.
My wife's meal was served 10 minutes after my plate was delivered! My meal was delivered to the wrong table which wasn't a big deal but had too wait for the server to come by and actually bring it to his attention!
It was Valentines Day so It was noisy and service a bit slow, so i would take my review into consideration because of Valentines Day. I received an email that my reservation did not qualify for points. Can you tell me why? thanks
We were very frustrated last night when we went to Il Poggio in Snowmass Colorado and they said that they are not affiliated with OpenTable. There is nothing on your website that says that this is il Poggio is in Chicago. I thought that this app showed restaurants based on where you are unless you designate otherwise. This was a very frustrating experience.
Food was wonderful. Ambiance laid back and casual. Will be back
Really good food made to your specifications. Our waitress Heather was very attentive and helpful. We will go there again.
Food was descent with service ok but the place is too dark. Nobody could see their menu and you could see many people taking out their phones to use the light. Consider putting small candles at each table. Also, tables are crammed together.
Every time we visit Il Poggiolo the food is delicious. They even had half price bottles of wine when we where there. I love the Rigatoni, but ask your server to order the Rigatoni ripieni (can't remember the exact spelling) and add the crumbled sausage. Delicous! The desserts were delicious. We shared tiramisu and chocolate gelato. The cannoli is also very good....they come two to an order, so you can always take one home for later. Our family loves this restaurant, and be sure to say hi to Cleo at the bar!
My family and I have frequented this restaurant for about 2 to 3 years now. We have never had a bad experience. In fact, it is one of the restaurants that we all look forward to going to. The food is absolutely perfectly prepared.
It was just a sketchy night. Lot's of attention at the table from server, but when she was gone she was gone. Over promised on ability to tweak menu items but then didn't really deliver a good product and the time it took for it to arrive was not worth it.
Amazing. As always.
We were out at a table that was right next to the bar and was very uncomfortable - squeezed in too tight and kept getting bumped. Think tables are too tight in there in general
Service was poor. The server was overloaded with too many tables. The restaurant seemed unprepared for the number of customers which seems surprising for a Friday evening
I have been to Il Poggiolo twice and both times the food I had was amazing. Even the bread was good. I highly recommend the Bruschetta, probably one of the best that I have had.
We picked Il Poggiolo based on past experiences. Decided to take my friends here for NYE. Service was poor. Took 10-15 minutes to get first beer. Then main course came out before apps and salad. We asked for extra cheese which the server forgot twice.
NYE was no excuse. The restaurant wasn’t any busier than normal.
Very disappointed. There are too many options these days to put up with this level of service.
New Years Eve we were there. It was packed and lively and they did an awesome job serving us our party of 4 making for a real fun night. Food/Service/Drinks were all outstanding.
Food was bland. Seated by the door, so cold. Drinks super expensive. Won’t go back.
First visit. Friday evening, Restaurant not busy. Seated immediately by polite hostess. Outstanding service. Food was exceptional. Great burrata, chicken milanese and cioppino. Looking forward to your next visit.
Very loud - Christmas Eve with children . Two guests decided to stand directly behind my chair for an extended LOUD conversation. Server was efficient but brusque/abrupt. Love this place - bad night
As usually The food, the service and the atmosphere were amazing. Il Poggiolo never disappoints!
The food and wine was very good, especially the bread. It was a little noisy but overall a great experience.
The meals were good and there were ten of us who dined for a bday dinner. The salads and calamari were great appetizers. I had the scallops and they were fresh and good. The pasta bolognese was flavorful. Nice wine options and the tables upstairs are nice. Our server was attentive and our group had a nice time.
This is our 4th time here. Service is great and so is the food. I am a big fan of the scallops.
The only problem was the very cold draft of air everytime someone entered the restaurant.
Outstanding server. Food is consistently great
Our waitor was amazing. Cannot remember her name but she's been there for 6 years and really made the experience special.
I’ve been to Il poggiolo countless times as a Hinsdale resident but for the first time had a very poor experience due to the waitress we had. No other way to put it other than she was lazy and I unengaged. Did not bring a kids menu, did not explain the specials-just slapped down the card, did not make any recommendations when we asked but instead said, just gotta decide which one you like I guess. What? You’re the waitress-offer up what’s popular at least, if you haven’t tried it yourself. This was a special dinner for us-freshman son home from college, daughter’s boyfriend joining us for the first time, and son’s girlfriend’s birthday. I brought her flowers and asked the waitress if she could put them in water and keep them somewhere for us during dinner. She said I can put them on the bar but I really don’t have anything to put them in. Again, what?? You’re a restaurant with many glasses, jars, water, and I’m sure even vases from your private events. So so disappointing.
This was our third visit and it just keeps getting better!
Amazing. As always.
I liked the decor and the food was good. I thought the service was rather slow considering that we were one of two groups dining.
Homemade pasta to die for... LOVED the rigatoni! The pizza was just OK. It may have been that I was not used to the rapini. Wonderful service.
Great time wait service was outstanding. We will definitely go back
We have been going to this restaurant for the past several years and have always enjoyed it. However, this time we were very disappointed. The prices have increased while the quality and quantity of the food has decreased. We barely saw our waiter after our food arrived. He was also a bit insulating to us when we arrived by asking if we had already been drinking. Strange question.
Always a guaranteed dining pleasure, from the front of the house to the kitchen. Nightly specials stand out but don’t forget about the regular menu, as it never disappoints.
Great food, attentive staff, and nice wine selection.
We were there for birthday. Waiter was good but not attentive. I ordered scallops and for $30.00 I only had 4 scallops so went home hungry. The bathroom was gross, dirty and smelly. I felt like I was in a sewer. Plus it was next to the kitchen making me feel sick of the cleanliness. Glad to have valet though.
