We love this restaurant! The food is excellent and never fails to please. Service and ambiance is top notch. Not the snooty staff we have come to expect at many of Santa Fe's finest dining establishment. Our waiter was very knowledgable & helpful about the wines.
Very pleasant experience - good service, good food, nice ambience – and an excellent value, just a block from the plaza.
The prices here are too high for the type of food offered
We had an excellent lunch. The food was prepared well & the service was very good. Worth returning here for good food.
great dining and great service! very comfortable space...
Great service; very good, If not exceptional, food; casual and comfortable atmosphere.
Been here many times: will continue to frequent this lovely restaurant on my future trips to Santa Fe.
We have dined with you before and find Il Piatto a very pleasing atmosphere with great food, and great service. We'll be back.
Food was so yummy and the service was just terrific.
Excellent meal and service. A little cramped!
Il Piatto was excellent, my favorite meal in Santa Fe. Their Squid Ink Spaghetti was delicious. I think everyone fully enjoyed their meal. Our server was also very friendly and made great suggestions when asked.
Happy hour prices are an excellent deal. All appetizers and small orders of pasta are half off. Suited our group of friends perfectly as we were going to a performance later that evening. Try the spaghetti bolognese, gorgonzola ravioli, or duck ragu pappardelle. Salads are good too. Pannacotta abig hit as shared dessert.
The waiter was very quick. When he checked on the table he assumed we were doing fine and ran away. Did not wait to check with us with an answer. I got up to get my wine after waiting too long. I raised my hand for more water. He delivered a salad with dressing on it when I was clear about no dressing.
We have eaten at Il Piatto many times and used to enjoy it very much. We returned this year after not going for a couple of years. The prices seemed much higher this time around. The mushroom strudel appetizer was delicious and the high point of the meal. For an entree I decided on the seafood linguini. There were two sizes, priced at $26 or $38. After discussion with the waiter I decided on the large plate since I'm a hearty eater. What arrived was less than ample, half of a full plate in terms of what I'm used to at other restaurants. In retrospect I should have checked whether I got the $26 size by mistake, but that seems impossible since the tab for two was $159 before tip (no bottle of wine, just one glass each). Last, the berry-mascarpone tart wasn't particularly fresh, and it would have been better to serve it with a knife since the philo dough crust was too tough to cut with a fork. The food otherwise was good, but the dessert was not, hence the average rating on the meal as a whole.
Excellent food quality. Innovative menu. Correctly-sized servings. Prompt courteous service. Very well done...excellent choice for dinner.
Bathroom needs attention.
Very disappointed. Food was fair at best and VERY overpriced
Go for the Happy Hour Special of half off wine by glass and appetizers. Entrees and desserts very good but way overpriced. We have been dining at Il Piatto for several years during our annual visit to Santa Fe and have noticed prices steadily increasing while entrée size shrinking. We miss the Happy Hour with the Price Fix menu that is no longer offered.
Il Piatto won't disappoint. It is one of the few restaurants open on Sunday. It has a wonderful menu and utilizes a lot of local foods. The wine list is really great and the prices are very fair for the wines. The overall tab is a little high for just a dinner out. they offer an option of full size entree or appetizer size. the appetizer size is very plentiful but priced like an entree.
The chef was a little heavy handed with salt the night we dined but it isn't always like that. However, the focaccia is very salty.
Lovely evening with friends. One friend said it was best meal he ever had. Sergio was great.
Birthday dessert and candle included!
I Loved The Food! The wine selection! And service was amazing too! Definitely recommend and will be back!! Good job guys!
Delightful dining experience. Has to be one of the best in Santa Fe.
We were early and the place was pretty empty so it was no problem that we added two people to our reservation. The service started out good but as things got busier, the service decreased. By dessert it was a long wait. Also noise is really bad when they are busy. Go early for best experience.
Loved the food & the atmosphere.
I go to Il Piatto on a regular basis and love it. I always go between 4:30 and 6:00 when appetizers are half off and there are half orders of the entrees. They have an outstanding selection of wines at a reduced price during this time too. It's a great a value overall plus the service is excellent, always knowledgeable and attentive. I have my favorites. I usually get one of the soups: the Gazpacho (seasonal) or the Mushroom Bisque are great. The Caesar salad is one of the best in town. I love the New Mexico Beef Carpaccio and Mary's Organic Roast Chicken. And, then there's dessert. All of the desserts are fantastic. My favorite, hands down, is the zabaglione but the chocolate mouse is as good as it gets as is the tiramisu. I also especially like that everything is made in house, they source from local farmers and have organic options. Overall, it's a great experience for a great price. It's a favorite of mine and other locals.
Favorite restaurant in Santa Fe! I had the special Pesto Mussels, so delicious!
We had a wonderful dinner at Il Piatto. The atmosphere was so romantic and peaceful on the night that we were there. The food was very fresh and beautifully presented. Our server was from Minnesota, as are we, and we had a great time talking with her. She provided expert service and recommendations. This was one of our favorite place we ate in our nine nights in Santa Fe.
We love to come to Il Piatto for great Italian cuisine and we consider it as a go to place when we are celebrating a special occasion. The food is always great with an authentic and imaginative presentation. Server took great care of us and had us all laughing. Great time. We will be back.
Very expensive for pasta. Then the half size dinner left us hungry at the end. The glassware and table ware were not clean. The space was very dark and I didn’t want to venture to the ladies room for fear of what it might look like.
Delightful dining experience all around. The prices are in line with the quality of farm fresh ingredients.
Great food, very attentive service. I particularly like that they offer small plates
Farm to table Italian. Great waiter and food.
Always enjoy our time at Il Piatto. We return again and again and never disappointed.
The branzino was great. Our friends had the ravioli upon our recommendation and were not disappointed. The focaccia was fresh from the oven and perfect. A good lunch get together with friends.
Great food and quite accommodating for us vegans. Good wines per glass. Server Tiffany was beyond helpful!
The fish special was excellent, the eggplant parmesan was disappointing (too cheesy and lacked much texture). The ravioli has always been very good.
A little pricey, but good. Due to cost, would not go back.
Wine and meal while excellent quality was overpriced.
We selected Il Piatto Italian Farmhouse Kitchen based on online reviews, location and menu. Wow! The happy hour menu was right sized portions of pasta dishes and half price appetizers. In addition there was a value selection of good wines. Server was friendly, informative and attentive. I enjoyed the duck ragu with paparadelle. My husband had a delicious frutti de Mar; we started with carpaccio and finished with apple strudel. Locally accessed ingredients, pleasant atmosphere !
