For our wedding anniversary we chose Il Piatto in downtown Santa Fe. We began with a bottle of prosecco and the grilled eggplant appetizer. It was delicious, but a little heavy on the raw garlic. My husband ordered spaghetti Bolognese and I had the Gorgonzola walnut ravioli which was served with sun-dried tomato pesto. The bolognese sauce was greasy and the ravioli was cold. I wouldn’t call the pesto pesto. I would call paste. I don’t think it had anything in it besides sun-dried tomatoes and maybe some oil. It was very thick and I wasn’t really sure what to do with it because I couldn’t put it on the ravioli and it wouldn’t really mix in the sauce because the sauce was cold. Because it was our anniversary day did serve us three chocolate covered strawberries for dessert on the house and they were magnificent. We also shared a delicious tiramisu. Our server was attentive and funny but she didn’t offer a tasting of the prosecco before pouring it, she seemed rushed and like at work was the last place she’d rather be. Very preoccupied. I think this place has potential if the ravioli was warm it would’ve been good. But after eating in six different Santa Fe restaurants this week, I wouldn’t put it at the top of the list.

This is an exceptional restaurant! We have eaten here many times before and always excellent. My wife and I had an exceptional late lunch taking advantage of the price fixed menu and we were thrilled!!! It was excellent as usual. Service was great and this is a real jewel in the Santa Fe collection of fine restaurants! We will be back.

Valengtine's Day dinner in Santa Fe! Where better than Il Piatto? Searched all the recommended restaurants in and around Santa Fe and (eventually) choose this place. We were not disappointed! The food was excellent, the wine selection magnificent and the service personable, helpful and unobtrusive. We were a little surprised at how quiet it was (?) but need not have been at all concerned - a truly wonderful evening.

We went for Valentine's Day for dinner. The atmosphere was great. I had the seafood pasta, while the sauce was good, there was too much calamari and not enough of crab, and the shrimp did not taste very fresh. We felt a little rushed out of the place as we were given the check half way through our desert.

Amazing food and the restaurant was outstanding. Our waiter was great and he knew everything about the menu and especially the wine. We met Matt “the owner” on the slopes and he gave us his card. He said to present the card to the waiter and he would serve us a special dining experience. It was amazing. My pork loin was great and my lady had the Eggplant. WOW. Grilled Calamari was in point and the shiitake mushrooms were delicious. I highly recommend this unforgettable experience.

We had not been here in 2 years. The food didn't disappoint. Only thing you can improve on is the hostess. Bless her heart, she acted as if someone had just died.

The restaurant easily added one to our party. We all opted for the smaller portions which were enough for the veal entree but only 4 raviolis seemed skimpy on the pasta. Good service as always.

Food was good to very good, but service was a major problem. Server seemed only interested in her friends who were dining at the restaurant and we felt ignored.

The food was okay but service was not. First waiter was good. Got us a 2nd glass of wine with a better pour than first. Replacement waiter was introduced and disappeared. No water refill, no replacement knife, no nothing. Returned muccchhh later with check and apology. Said had large group in other room. Comped wine. “So sorry”. So were we.

As usual, our dinner was special and delicious. There was, however, one exception: e.g., the zabaglione desert which I have had and loved in the past. It neither looked nor tasted like zabaglione...I sent it back and much enjoyed the roasted hot apple strudel!

We were able to reserve a table within late afternoon happy hours, so our wine and many of the dishes we chose were half price. Nice wine choices and tasty food. I had the pappardelle with beef ragu - there was more beef than pasta in the bowl, and both very delicious. I started with lovely beef carpaccio, seasoned the way I remember it from Italy. Others had the beet salad, also appreciated. Only downside - we were too full for dessert.

Visited Il Piatto a few times in the past 5 or so years. It was always good, but this time it was very good! The mushroom soup was rich and delicious - perfect for a cold winter night. Option for small portions is a big plus, providing the opportunity to taste more of the chef's tasty offerings!

We had a lovely NYE at Il Piatto in downtown Santa Fe. The food was terrific, with several vegetarian options. The atmosphere is perfect for a romantic dinner and VERY Santa Fe. Service was impeccable -- our waiter was very pleasant and attentive without being too intrusive. The food is a little pricey and although rich, the portions are quite small. Will definitely go back when my wallet recovers.

The evening was a delightful experience. The ambiance was warm and comfortable. Michael, our waiter immediately introduced himself to us and remained attentive through the evening. He proved himself knowledgeable in the wine and food selection. The scallop Rockefeller was delicious with kudos on the sauce. The Idaho trout was steamed with a beautiful texture of consistency, again interesting spicy sauce. All good was organic and the evening charming.

Our dinner at il Piatto was sublime, as always. I loved the special Mushroom Bisque, with local mushrooms. It was creamy and full of flavor. The carpaccio was excellent. And, I had a new entree, the Branzino and loved it. The service was excellent. I'm an regular at il Piatto and am never disappointed. Plus, the value is excellent. We dined during Happy Hour and got our appetizers at half price and a half order of our main courses.

Xmas week dinner was really great with friends!
Started off with grilled romaine goat cheese salad and wild mushroom bisque. Delicious. Then a veal piccata with marsala accompanied by a glass of Malbec. Last was a gourmet bread pudding!!! So worth it

Perfect Christmas Eve dinner. The service was great without being intrusive. We weren't rushed. The food was really good and they gave options for smaller portions. We loved the champagne and ambiance. We were given a two top by the window. It was cozy and somewhat quiet but happening. We have been here twice over a number of years and have loved it both times. Highly recommend.
