A little pricey, but good. Due to cost, would not go back.
Wine and meal while excellent quality was overpriced.
We selected Il Piatto Italian Farmhouse Kitchen based on online reviews, location and menu. Wow! The happy hour menu was right sized portions of pasta dishes and half price appetizers. In addition there was a value selection of good wines. Server was friendly, informative and attentive. I enjoyed the duck ragu with paparadelle. My husband had a delicious frutti de Mar; we started with carpaccio and finished with apple strudel. Locally accessed ingredients, pleasant atmosphere !
Wonderful food, cozy setting!
Service was fantastic. There was a very loud party nearby unfortunately, but that sometimes comes with the territory. The food overall was delicious and well executed. Although the ravioli were far more firm than I would have expected for al dente, they addressed the matter promptly and graciously. I'd definitely recommend the restaurant and would happily visit them again.
GREAT happy hour.
Perhaps I didn’t make good choices, but I thought the food was pretty ordinary.
With only one soup offering, the chicken and mushroom soup should be a knockout.
It was just OK.
Good food and service and a nice selection of good wines at reasonable prices.
Nice Italian feel and the food was excellent. Portions were just right.
Fantastic food and service!
The absolute and most fantastic bolognese I have ever tasted!
Your wine prices are a little ridiculous..need to get some lower price point wines ...food was great but your wine prices will stop us from returning anytime soon
Everything was wonderful for our meal, except, I will never sit in the room with the bar again because of the slamming of the swinging doors into the kitchen every minute. Very distracting. There were only 2 other tables occupied in there on the night we had dinner, so probably with more tables full it wouldn't have been so bothersome. Have loved the newest room to the right when you walk in the door.
Never a disappoint! The service is over the top and very professional. The food choices covers all types of appetites. They also have a great “Happy Hour”. Looking forward to returning soon. Bravo!
We went there during restaurant week which might have been part of the problem. They squeezed 7 of us (with a reservation) at a table that was clearly too small. Our waiter was more of a casual sales person (trying to upsell) and would constantly pour refills into our water glasses from the end of the table, leaning over people and aiming at the water glasses from a height that made us all nervous, instead of politely picking up the water glass, filling it and returning it to the table. (It may seem like a small thing but for the price of this restaurant we expected better) The food was good but not great like we had remembered from past visits. My veal was very tough and more like a sirloin and well done. The one thing mentioned that was very good at the table was the seafood linguine. But for the price, not very memorable.
I made a reservation almost 2 weeks in advance. When we showed up, there was not a table available, so we had to wait. When we finally got a table, it was a large table that seated 8. we were a party of 4. The service was very slow. The food was great, but it took forever!
Duck ragu Papperadelle - so good!! Wesley was wonderful. Ambience - conducive to conversation and relaxation!
Fantastic service and food was wonderful. Dessert was to die for.
Food and service were very good -- menu selection for restaurant week was excellent -- will be coming back!
Been here many times, both for lunch and dinner. This was Restaurant Week and the place was packed. We had to wait 15 minutes for a table, which is most unusual. Good service with very friendly waiter. Scallops appetizer was very delicious. Grilled calamari appetizer not so good, quite rubbery. Branzino perfectly cooked and just the right portion size. My friend had the pumpkin ravioli and practically licked her plate. Desserts excellent, too. Try the cannoli or tiramisu.
It was overall a nice dinner as part f Restaurant week. Are planning to go back for happy hour when it isn't so busy. Bar area a little loud but not unbearable. Quiet room was pointed out but unless you are with a larger group I prefer the bar area. Food was good, not outstanding.
We don’t usually go out during Santa Fe Restaurant Week but I saw that they were offering their whole menu, rather than just a few unusual choices. We thought we’d try it since we’d never been here before. It was delicious! The service was good too - friendly and helpful but not fussy. We will definitely be back.
They expanded to second dining area which is very big and relatively quiet. Very nice addition
Our meal was well prepare and served in a very elegant display. The food tasty and just the right amount. The wait staff was very attentive explained the items on the menu. Thank you.
The ambiance and food were very good and provided friends an opportunity to have a very enjoyable dinner together.
We took advantage of restaurant week to try Il Piatto. For $35 we had a very good meal. My steak was a bit grisly, but flavorful and my husband loved the pork tenderloin. Our appetizers and desserts were wonderful. I would recommend this restaurant. One thing was the kitchen swing door. It was very distracting as was the ceiling fan.
This is my favorite Italian place. I love the focaccia and olive oil. I need to buy a loaf. This is a quaint restaurant with big city flavor. The bread pudding was so moist, creamy and delicious. Excellent way to start off Restaurant Week in Santa Fe
Nice indoor café style. Great service and food. Nice ambience creative menu.
Vacation after recent retirement. Excellent server, Sergio.
Great food and ambiance
For our wedding anniversary we chose Il Piatto in downtown Santa Fe. We began with a bottle of prosecco and the grilled eggplant appetizer. It was delicious, but a little heavy on the raw garlic. My husband ordered spaghetti Bolognese and I had the Gorgonzola walnut ravioli which was served with sun-dried tomato pesto. The bolognese sauce was greasy and the ravioli was cold. I wouldn’t call the pesto pesto. I would call paste. I don’t think it had anything in it besides sun-dried tomatoes and maybe some oil. It was very thick and I wasn’t really sure what to do with it because I couldn’t put it on the ravioli and it wouldn’t really mix in the sauce because the sauce was cold. Because it was our anniversary day did serve us three chocolate covered strawberries for dessert on the house and they were magnificent. We also shared a delicious tiramisu. Our server was attentive and funny but she didn’t offer a tasting of the prosecco before pouring it, she seemed rushed and like at work was the last place she’d rather be. Very preoccupied. I think this place has potential if the ravioli was warm it would’ve been good. But after eating in six different Santa Fe restaurants this week, I wouldn’t put it at the top of the list.
This is an exceptional restaurant! We have eaten here many times before and always excellent. My wife and I had an exceptional late lunch taking advantage of the price fixed menu and we were thrilled!!! It was excellent as usual. Service was great and this is a real jewel in the Santa Fe collection of fine restaurants! We will be back.
Valengtine's Day dinner in Santa Fe! Where better than Il Piatto? Searched all the recommended restaurants in and around Santa Fe and (eventually) choose this place. We were not disappointed! The food was excellent, the wine selection magnificent and the service personable, helpful and unobtrusive. We were a little surprised at how quiet it was (?) but need not have been at all concerned - a truly wonderful evening.
We went for Valentine's Day for dinner. The atmosphere was great. I had the seafood pasta, while the sauce was good, there was too much calamari and not enough of crab, and the shrimp did not taste very fresh. We felt a little rushed out of the place as we were given the check half way through our desert.
Amazing food and the restaurant was outstanding. Our waiter was great and he knew everything about the menu and especially the wine. We met Matt “the owner” on the slopes and he gave us his card. He said to present the card to the waiter and he would serve us a special dining experience. It was amazing. My pork loin was great and my lady had the Eggplant. WOW. Grilled Calamari was in point and the shiitake mushrooms were delicious. I highly recommend this unforgettable experience.
As usual, fine delicious food. Wesley was attentive and professional....as were the runner & bussers. Beautiful night.
We had not been here in 2 years. The food didn't disappoint. Only thing you can improve on is the hostess. Bless her heart, she acted as if someone had just died.
The restaurant easily added one to our party. We all opted for the smaller portions which were enough for the veal entree but only 4 raviolis seemed skimpy on the pasta. Good service as always.
Food was good to very good, but service was a major problem. Server seemed only interested in her friends who were dining at the restaurant and we felt ignored.
The food was okay but service was not. First waiter was good. Got us a 2nd glass of wine with a better pour than first. Replacement waiter was introduced and disappeared. No water refill, no replacement knife, no nothing. Returned muccchhh later with check and apology. Said had large group in other room. Comped wine. “So sorry”. So were we.
As usual, our dinner was special and delicious. There was, however, one exception: e.g., the zabaglione desert which I have had and loved in the past. It neither looked nor tasted like zabaglione...I sent it back and much enjoyed the roasted hot apple strudel!
