Service was abysmal. We were initially seated under a speaker that wasn’t working properly. It just sent out a loud humming noise that was very loud. When we asked to be reseated it was as if we had disappeared. No waiter showed up at our new table for 15 minutes. It took another 10 minutes to get some bread. Dinner arrived almost an hour after we did. The restaurant was not busy—just sheer indifference on the part of the staff. Right after we asked for our check the waitress plunked down two glasses of wine that we hadn’t ordered with no explanation. One can only presume that it was supposed to compensate for the poor service, but even that wasn’t done well.

The service was very slow. The temperature was uncomfortably warm. The food was fine but other Italian restaurants in Santa Fe have better food.

The service was a little erratic as we had ordered appetizers which did not come to our table before the main courses were served. The food was very good.

Il Piatto is a fabulous restaurant. The food is excellent. The service and management is outstanding. They really create a lovely environment and are very nice and professional. Just like dining in Italy. They are continually creating new and interesting dishes. Their Happy Hour is a great value! Do not miss this place while visiting Santa Fe or come in often if you live in town. Wonderful!!

The food and service was excellent, HOWEVER, they MUST revise their menu. if you are Gluten-Free or have celiac disease their misprint can be highly dangerous! we had one member of our party who inquired about one entree even though it was noted on the menu with "GF" and after having eaten a portion knew something was wrong and had to immediately leave. Upon inquiring, we were told by the manager that it was indeed a mistake and NOT gluten-free. They did not charge for her meal but it still caused some discomfort since only a small portion was consumed. We just want to make sure this does not happen to anyone else because everything else was excellent and we will come back!

The dining room was lovely, cool, quiet. The service was fine. The wine was also good, particularly the glass of Chianti I had. The food? Overpriced and underwhelming. My wife had a $30 bowl of gnocchi. She ate perhaps a third, the rest we had for lunch next day. They were tender and tasty, but it was $30 pasta. I ordered the New Mexico strip steak pizziola, medium rare. It was much closer to medium, very little pink. Ok, that will happen, but at $36 I expect a tender, flavorful piece of meat. It was neither, and even a bit gristly. Rather disappointing. I don’t have steak often, but when I order it in an upscale place like this it better be good. If we lived here, I probably wouldn’t return. Too many other choices in Santa Fe for dinner.

We have dined at Il Piatto numerous times and love the restaurant. This time we took good friends from out of town or the happy hour prior to going to the music in the plaza. Again good food but service was slow (perhaps a big group from the other room). Also the bill came and had three items which were at hPpy hour 1/2 off marked at full price. After we caught the issue he “corrected” the bill but one of the three was still wrong. It was a real shame as the service and bill ruined the dinner effect for our friends. They wondered why we liked the restaurant.

I found all the food extremely salty. I realise that steak needs salt. But the fries and spinach were also oversalted. You can’t take the salt away!
Staff (Bridie?Britney?) were lovely.

Whenever friends are in town, New Mexican food is a must. This time these friends had their fill and wanted something, something that would include wine. Having eaten here recently for a meeting, and having had dinner here once or twice before, I had been impressed with everything about Il Piatto. So this is where we went. It is going to stay on my list of go-to restaurants in Santa Fe, and our friends were delighted and vowed to return. The food is very good, and with a varied and interesting menu that is different here in the City Different. The wine list is good, with several good bottles under $60.

We had an early dinner and ordered the Pappardelle with Duck Ragu which was delicious. We ordered the smaller serving which was smaller than we expected. The extremely small bowl made it somewhat difficult to eat. We enjoyed the dinner, but next time we will order the larger serving. Our server did a great job.

The food was absolutely superb, but the noise level made the dining experience unfavorable. Everyone seem to think they had to “talk over” everyone around them. With the small, intimate dining area, I left the restaurant exhausted.

Had a great lunch using the 3 course menu option which worked out great for my wife and I, my daughter had a main from the kids menu. We all had chicken for main course which was supper succulent. Starters and deserts were fantastic and all washed down with a reasonably priced wine by the glass. It was the best meal we had in Santa Fe on our week long trip. Thanks

My wife ordered Lamb, medium rare +. Came out pretty much well done. I had linguine with clams. Pasta was not great, clams not much better. Server was Excellent and it was half price wine Wednesday which helped, but unlikely to be back and we live in Santa Fe so were looking forward to trying this place.

The waiter seemed to have too many tables to attend to. I had indicated on the OpenTable reservation system that it was an anniversary. That evidently wasn’t noticed by the restaurant. It was no big deal - but it could have been.

This dinner was mostly to celebrate my mom’s birthday. We were in Santa Fe for a few days of vacation and wanted some place for Italian because that is usually our family tradition for celebrating birthdays. We were not disappointed! The food from appetizer to dessert was absolutely delicious. The entrees has great flavor and were prepared so well. Our waiter was great. He had great suggestions for wine, was attentive, and made a deal out of my mom’s birthday! Overall we would definitely go back the next time we visit the city.

My wife and I had the linguine and clams which was the most bland pasta dish I've ever had! It was really bad and I hate to complain but I would not recommend it. No flavor what so ever!!! The sever was spread out too thin and was in the weeds the whole time. He needed a busser or something! It was a bad night there and hopeful that's all it was because I recommended Il Piatto to Santa Fe visitors all the time....

Delicious and fresh menu. Chef was willing to make special non-menu dishes for vegan guests. Gazpacho was delicious. Bread was tasty. All items were well plated and presented in a lovely manner. Wish the dessert menu included gluten free non-dairy items, maybe adding a fruit item or sorbet.

Enjoyed another visit to IL Piatto recently for dinner. The dining room and bar area are comfortable with expected noise level based on crowd size. We were able to enjoy the background music without distractions from others. Our Server was punctual, helpful and VERY welcoming! We enjoyed appetizers including one on the nightly specials menu and opted for Eggplant Parmesan entrees, which were artfully prepared and presented. The only minus here was both entrees could have been hotter and/or the plates warmed to maintain temperature. The restaurant has a pleasantly rustic Italian farmhouse decor and the service is excellent! We weren't rushed thru our meal, and did receive consistent attention from the Staff. I believe Patrons here are valued and made to feel that way, as there are many other dining options available in Santa Fe. Would definitely recommend this establishment for those looking for a comfortable and delightful dining experience!

Pasta Bolognese with a gluten free substitute (in this case, a spaghetti squash) was extremely tasty. Mary's Chicken was also imaginatively prepared and delicious - with leftovers to take home. All waitstaff was most pleasant, though service was a bit slow. Overall, a very good experience, though wines by the glass are too expensive, in our opinion.

Il Piatto is still one of the best restaurants around in northern New Mexico. The food is superb, the service excellent, and the ambiance is low-key elegance. This is a great family restaurant (for older kids) and we felt part of the Santa Fe Plaza neighborhood.

It can be 'expensive' but it was worth it. The dishes were top-notch and we came away stuffed. The 4 of us had the crab special, spaghetti bolognese, the roasted chicken, and the saltimbocca entrees. The garlic bread that was served this evening was extremely tasty. We also shared 2 different mushroom appetizers and a huge caesar salad (with real anchovy filets). The wine list had many nice choices and the 'by the glass' options were great, which was what we chose.

Best of all, our waiter and the rest of the staff were perfect in their timing. We did not have to wait long for our dishes and we had a very pleasant evening. If you are looking for an upscale restaurant with great food, this is the place in Santa Fe. We will be back...
