Food was great. Service excellent. Would come again.
I'm actually very satisfied with everything. However, I feel that the portion sizes were a bet small. Deserts were expensive and very small. $10.00 for one canoli is a bit high.
Il Piatto did not have our reservation (made through OpenTable) even though I confirmed it (with OT) the day before, and they weren't able to provide the seating we requested. The server got our wine order confused and seemed too busy to provide good service. Love the happy hour prices and the food was good as usual.
We had to wait 25 minutes even though we had a reservation. Once we were seated, the service was very good, but unfortunately the food was very bland. We left a good tip because the server was good, but we won’t be going back due to the lackluster food.
Lovely valentine dinner—love this place great for special occasions and every evening🌺🌺🌺
I always enjoy going to Il Piatto, the food is local and fresh and the service is excellent.
Delicious food and the service kept the party going!
Trying hard to give this restaurant a try after not frequenting for 3 years. They have bartenders that are so loud and boisterous that you can’t carry on a conversation with the people at your table.
Food is great. It’s just not a restaurant for conversation
Happy hour value is great. Food reliably good, though it would be nice to see some new pasta dishes on the menu - I don’t think it’s changed in the 4-5 years I’ve been happy-houring here. Anthony was an excellent waiter, showing up at all the right times.
Really enjoyed the Bolognese and the Gorgonzola ravioli. Our friends liked the carpaccio too. Excellent bread! Service was prompt and attentive. Easy to talk business.
Lovely evening with a business friend. Food was fabulous. Unfortunately the bartender and wait staff enjoyed the bar crowd a bit too much. The noise level was a bit over the top. Upset my dinner partner but the food more than made up for the loud laughter.
Good place, food is tasty. Not cheap. Service is spotty in the sense that it can take a while to get your order taken, depending on the server. Overall, a nice place
Really enjoyed it and so appreciate the attention to food quality/local food. Didn't have any of the problems other some reviewers mention.
We went there on a Saturday night during our honeymoon. Good food, good wine. Worth a visit.
The gnocchi was delicious. The eggplant parmesan was very expensive and not great. The atmosphere is lovely and service very good.
Always a special night at one our favorite places!
Mediocre food at best. Seafood Cioppino was over cooked and dry. Prosciutto wrapped Idaho Trout didn’t have any discernible prosciutto. Mussels appetizer tasty, but only served five between three people.
Biggest turnoff was paying fine dining prices, and having to tolerate football fans. We were only given the option of sitting in the bar due to off season. In our opinion, it would be in the owners best interest to shut the TV and worry of the quality of the food. Or, slash prices and turn the place into a sports bar. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
Much to my surprise Il Piatto delivered a delicious meal. It was a great improvement over the meal I had a couple of years ago. The prix fixe menu is a very good value. I had grilled calamari with fennel salad and branzino with sautéed arugula. Both we excellent. Not a fishy morsel to be found in either dish. Desserts were on the simple side, . With a formidable chocolate mousse and panda cotta as two of the choices.
One of the most disappointing meals I have had in Santa Fe!
Food was good, service was less than adequate. Server appeared to be poorly trained or else inattentive as appetizer dishes were not cleared before main courses were served. also he did not come aroung to pour more wine, or to ask if we wanted another drink or bottle. A big disappointment as usually the service is at least good.
We were vacationing in Santa Fe. We always go to Il Piatto when we are here. We love everything about this place.
The food was over cooked and dry. We were seated next to a table with very, very noisy people and could not carry on a conversation with each other, even though there were other tables available.
We had a wonderful dinner and drinks at Il Piatto with friends last night. One of the best restaurants in Santa Fe for both great food and charming setting. Thanks for a great birthday meal.
We always try to stop by this restaurant when in Taos. Enjoy the lunch and prix fixe menu!
Great food, great ambiance, great service. What else is there to say
Normally Il Piatto is excellent. However, for New Year’s Eve, it fell short. Bread service was not timely, ravioli was cold ( although plate was hot), chicken was dry and service was lacking. Stay away on a holiday would be my recommendation.
I know it was New Years, but we were rushed and seated late. It's not a great feeling spending over $200 for a meal (with wine) and feeling like we're just a number for the night.
The food was not particularly good.
Was not impressed by food or service
Overall our experience really was not bad, it just wasn't great for the price. Our service was great and the restraunt was clean and had a great atmosphere. Neither of us had a bad dish but we did not have anything really great either. We started with the grilled calamari, and although it looked great, it was very bland and the aioli it was served with did very little to add flavor or highlight any flavors of the calamari. I ordered the Giant Sea Scallops that were on special, and my wife ordered the Lobster and crabmeat manicotti. While neither or dishes were bad, neither was exceptional. Both dishes were very bland and lacked seasoning. The scallops were cooked perfectly, but the sauce lacked depth and brought the dish down overall. If you're still reading this you might think, man, these guys were picky. Well, I would have given this restaurant 5 stars if dinner had been $50-$60 but for $170 after tip, I would have rather spent my money elsewhere.
Sporadic service. One veal dish was good; the other too chewy
so 1/2 price was deducted. Other dishes seemed ok. very
popular early in evening. may or may not return
We really appreciate the smaller portion options at this restaurant.
quiet, convivial, great happy hour deals!!
Il Piatto has always been a favorite, but this time it was less than impressive. The service was good, but my soup had no flavor, the asparagus with the scallops was tough, the barramundi (fish) has no flavor and was cold. The wine was good and the lattes the best ever. The beef carpaccio was the best item ordered...it was presented to perfection. Not sure Il Piatto would make my short list on my next visit to Santa Fe.
Food was good but pretty pricy. Wine list was not as extensive as I am used to and no moderately priced reds were on the list.
Exceptional food. Pumpkin ravioli is still the best there is, and we had the lobster and crab manicotti which was awesome. Wines we selected on the wine list were out and a dessert they advertised at the door was sold out. Waiter didn’t wait the table for additional drinks. One of the best kitchens in Santa Fe with one of the worst managers.
A hidden gem in Santa Fe! Great happy hour prices and options!
We had a nice Christmas day dinner at Il Piatto.
Very food duck ragu pappardelle, while the pumpkin ravioli were just ok. Would go back for Italian in Santa Fe
Excellent dinner on Christmas Day - we’ve been dining here for 20 years and Chef Matt Yohalem continues to provide delicious food at reasonable prices. Highly recommended.
foods okay - didn't like my eggplant parm. -it was $30 - wouldn't have liked it for $10... ...gorg ravioli was yummy - kids liked their scampi and bologneise
it did take 20min to get a bottle of wine ordered...seemed like they were not ready for the onslaught of Christmas day dinners (even tho there were reservations (ours were at 4:30). Our waiter was very professional/formal, but waitstaff in general didn't seem happy to me,- but like I said, I got the sense that they were not quite ready to open..or maybe cause they had to work Christmas Day.....anyway I really enjoyed the peeps I was w/ so that's really all that matters...and it was nice to not have to cook and be waited on!!! oh, and for dessert, we devoured the bread pudding in seconds...
