About Il Pastaio
Gourmet Magazine calls il Pastaio "a taste of heaven," and says "the cooks in il Pastaio's kitchen have angel's hands". Los Angeles Magazine critics choice ranked it "one of the top ten new restaurants". It's no wonder this friendly neighborhood trattoria has been a favorite meeting place, satisfying locals and visiting customers with its mouthwatering pasta since opening in 1994.

Il Pastaio Ratings and Reviews
Everything was delicious. Service was fantastic. The only negative comment was the peppered tuna was too peppery for me. However, it was peppered tuna. My friend got the spinach ravioli which was awesome. Desserts were great. We saw lots of Maserati’s and other nice cars pull up front. Fun spot to people watch.
Il Pastaio never lets us down. The food is always fantastic and the drinks are always made to perfection. Great service. We have never had a bad experience after at least 7 or 8 visits. Given the Beverly Hills location, it also reasonably priced. You should definitely have a reservation and, even so, expect to wait a few minutes for your table, but that's just because a lot of people want to eat here -- and justifiably so.
Yummy! Il Pastaio is awesome. It is an incredibly good restaurant. The food is just too good to be true. So many great options. The awesome is a great family and neighbor atmosphere. A lot of regulars at the restaurant. The staff running the restaurant is very kind and gracious. I loved my dinner.
My husband and I raved about this restaurant for weeks. We were travelling in the USA for a few weeks and booked Il Pastaio for dinner on Xmas eve. It was the first meal of our trip and other Italian places we tried during our stay couldn't match the amazing pastas we had here. Authentic, hearty and delicious meals and excellent service. We arrived early and brought an extra friend and the staff were super accommodating. Will definitely come back here again when we're in LA. If you enjoy amazing Italian food and pastas cooked to perfection this is a must try!
We are from Vancouver and visit Beverly Hills 2-3 times/year. No visit would be complete without a lunch or dinner at Il Pastaio. The handmade noodles, fresh ingredients, and attention to detail prepared in every meal are all phenomenal. Top that with the excellent service and knowledgeable staff that make our dining experience that more enjoyable. Highly recommend Il Pastaio to anyone visiting LA!
Sat outside near a garage. Garage attendants were smoking and smoke blew our way. Ordered the $110 ravioli with white truffle. It was really disappointing and didn't taste very truffle like. Waiter ignored us for a long time while he set up tables for a party. Our salad with shrimp and mango was quite good. Our waiter did not get a good tip because of ignoring us for so long. He had the nerve to ask why it wasn't higher. We were appalled.
Every time I go to this trattoria I wonder why so many people gravitate to it.Food is good,(but not great), service is hurried, (they need your seat for the next guy), tables are only 4 inches apart, (there is nothing you talk about that strangers on your left and right cannot hear), and prices are astronomical.
This place is a BH mainstay always crowded could not believe at 10:00PM that we still had to wait. Amazing. But... the food is always good and the service is good. Can't beat it for a late night meal or dinner, if you can get in. Tables turn fast and the staff is professional and quick. All of the pastas are great. The salads are fresh and delicious. That is why it is always crowded. Huge martinis and great wines.!!!!
I had a reservation for 8pm and wasn't seated until 8:45! After I was seated I was disappointed to find that they had changed the menu and did not have what I was coming to the restaurant for. This is my second time at this restaurant and I will not be coming back.
It was a lovely, special experience for my friend’s birthday. When I got there I identified myself by my reservation and Benjamin, the manager, referred to me by my name. He chose a nice quiet table, just as I had requested. They did a grest job taking care of my friend’s birthday. It was an overall great experience.
The food is wonderfully prepared, the wine choices are excellent, the service is attentive and knowledgeable, and the ambience is very comfortable. We don't mind driving from our home in downtown Los Angeles just to have lunch here. Except for Santa Monica Boulevard--stay away from Santa Monica Boulevard for a long, long time!
