Il Palio was named after the race held each summer in Siena, Italy. Created with a passion, the restaurant has been exquisitely designed and beautifully finished with materials from all over the world. No stone was left unturned and time was not a factor in finding exactly what was required to make the "vision" a reality. The atmosphere created is one of quiet comfort in surroundings reminiscent of an Italian villa. The friendly and courteous staff, the outstanding food, and the efficient service all contribute to the ambiance felt by those who visit the restaurant. Il Palio's fine Tuscan cuisine is a pleasing combination of the highest-quality ingredients and the caring preparation by chefs who take pride in the dishes they present. Like the race in Siena, Il Palio is creating lasting impressions.

I’l Palio consistently offers fine dining in a beautiful relaxed setting. Five star service, cuisine and ambiance! Perfect for lunch, dinner or drinks
Wonderful food and nice ambiance, although it got a bit noisy later. The service was decent but inconsistent.
We had a delicious celery root soup sprinkled with sausage, next we had the pasta special with lobster, asparagus and tomato. We finished the evening with a striped bass over green and cannelloni beans. Absolutely delicious! Cliff, Nuzio, Joe and Josie are always friendly and accommodating.
A great place to celebrate a birthday. We all had the fixed price lunch and it was delicious. The only complaint was their refusal to substitute spinach for the kale in one entree. (Or any other green vegetable) Service was impeccable.
Good food, great service but just slightly expensive.
Great food, ambiance and service!
Great staff and great food in a beautiful setting. It’s a win win!
A wonderful New Years Eve dinner. The staff was extremely attentive and the food heavenly.
Outstanding! The warm ambiance, delicious food and excellent service made for a very special New Year’s Eve. We love everything about Il Palio’s. Kim was a wonderful server. The waitstaff was extremely attentive and friendly. Thank you Cliff for the ice cream that our grandson loved and for your kindness. Before we left the restaurant, our grandson said, “This was the best ice cream ever!”
Thank you Il Palio’s for an enjoyable evening.
My husband and I finally had a date night and couldn’t wait to dine here. We know the owner and were so excited to finally experience some homemade Italian cuisine. I cannot express how wonderful the server was, how delicious and gorgeous all the food was - and the dessert! Leave room for that or find room. It was exceptional. We cannot wait to go back
Food solid once again and our server was hospitable and provided great experience. Love this place and perhaps no better restaurant ambiance in Fairfield County. That said, temperature check at the door is nonsense.
WONDERFUL MEAL AT IL PALIO. THE FOOD AND COCKTAILS WERE GREAT!
First time visit was a great experience. Great food and unobtrusive professional staff. A great Christmas season experience. Will be back.
Once again Chef Margherita Aloi presents a star studded authentic menu form swordfish crudo to lightly battered artichokes with a lemon aioli and of course her homemade fettuccine with porcini zucchini and yellow squash with shrimp in a light shrimp bisque knocked me off my feet. Paired with the Il Palio Pinot Grigio so good took two bottles home. The restaurant is decorated beautifully for the holidays. I wandered to the lower level to see their party/private space and it was impeccably decorated in white and silver with some pine decorations and OMG Boccelli was playing. I almost just booked an event just because. This is the best Italian and you feel like your a guest in their villa.
The food was delicious but the service was very poor. We had multiple servers who didn’t seem to know that there was another person involved. The food was delicious but the overall experience didn’t match the price. It was also extremely loud in there so we felt like we had to yell to chat with people at our table.
Excellent meal as always
Great food and service
Il Palio is one of our go to restaurants. The service is excellent, food excellent/lots of menu options and the atmosphere is wonderful. We are never disappointed when we have dinner here.
Great midweek dinner. This place has been solid since new management and new culinary team took over about 10 years ago. Also probably one of the most romantic and beautifully designed restaurants in Connecticut — especially around Christmas.
Tasty flatbread special to start…followed by several dishes that pleased including papperdalle in duck Ragu and risotto with scallops and black truffle. Really delicious and deftly prepared.
Solid menu and always have several nice additions each night to add variety.
Look forward to returning.
Restaurant was decorated beautifully for the holiday season. The waitstaff was knowledge and very attentive. The food was fabulous
We dined again
Sword fish was superb
Service excellent as usual
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYBODY AT IL PALIO
Outstanding as always!
This restaurant is consistently a wonderful experience.
Food is delicious, staff is attentive to each guest without exception as they dine in an elegant setting.
Two friends and I enjoyed our holiday lunch at Il Palio this week. From the warm greeting until the final thank you, it was nothing short of spectacular. We very much enjoyed our blood orange mimosas, followed by an assortment of meal choices, Caesar salad, soup of the day, salad with jumbo shrimp, lasagna, and pumpkin gnocchi. Not a morsel was left. One of us had room for dessert, goat cheese gelato, with a ripple of roasted fig running through it...divine! The service was perfect, always available but never hovering. Il Palio remains my favorite restaurant. Grazie!
Old friends get together
Great food , environment and service. I actually proposed to my girlfriend there last night
It was our first time here as we are new to the area. We were missing our old favorite place for pasta so decided to give this a try. Everything we had was excellent and we will definitely be back!
Excellent service and food.
This is our favorite place to dine.
Food and service is always constant and level is very very high.
There is nothing like Il Palio in this area.
Thank you and see you very soon
To my knowledge the only Italian Restaurant I found in the surroundings in which Italian specialties are done truly Italian!
It was just perfect and wonderful place to have dinner
Dinner was so good last week we made the exact same choices this week!
Great cocktails, & service from Mario-thanks and see you all soon!
Great experience. Wait staff wonderful. Food excellent. We were left alone to gab and enjoy our wine before ordering. Interesting crowd there - there seemed to be sophisticated folks enjoying food and good company.
Wow! From the service to the atmosphere to the food - amazing. The squash soup with a layer of lobster on top was deliciousssss!!!! The drinks, the gnocchi / short rib pasta dish, the lasagna and the steak - just simply superb. It was my mom's 86th birthday and they sat us in front of the fireplace. The building itself says "celebrate here!" which is exactly what we did!
Excellent food, nice experience.
What an enjoyable dinner!
Hubby and I had the swordfish carpaccio, burrata with prosciutto, spinach salad with salmon, and the filet mignon.
Everything was super fresh and prepared exactly as requested.
Mario our server was outstanding and right on top of things.
Il Palio is probably the best Italian restaurant in CT!
Once again delicious! I’ve never had a bad meal and always wonderful service. The pumpkin gnocchi was delicious
As careful and loving as food can be made. Highly recommended
