Il Mulino New York - Uptown
There’s no place like Il Mulino New York. The luxury Italian restaurant’s flagship Greenwich Village outpost initiated New York’s fine Italian dining trend and is still prized in the city’s elite dining scene. Zagat has rated Il Mulino New York as Manhattan’s No. 1 Italian restaurant for decades and has said the restaurant provides "one-of-a-kind" cuisine filled with delicious flavors, creating an "outstanding Italian classic" restaurant where "every dish is a masterpiece."
Executive Chef Michele Mazza, who hails from Naples, Italy, has proudly carried this tradition since 2003. Fresh ingredients, artistic preparation and impeccable service distinguish Il Mulino New York as one of the world’s premiere restaurants. In addition to fine dining, Il Mulino New York provides excellent off-site catering and products.

What a delightful experience! My friend and I had a wonderful lunch in our own outside hut. Our pasta dishes were excellent and the service was stellar. We enjoyed a beautiful California Cab suggested by an attentive sommelier. Of course one can’t discount the goodies that arrive before the meal: fresh shaved parmigiana, fried zucchini, tomato bruschetta. I had only dined at Il Mulino downtown so I was happy that the uptown restaurant lived up to the Il Mulino reputation! Bravo.
Class act all the way--from presentation to service to food quality
Il Mulino it’s a classic, they have the best outdoor in neighborhood, really good. Food, service excellent, wine list very good. We had this time fresh asparagus, and langoustines, amazing.
Not open air outdoor dining
Fantastic dinner.
Food and service earned high marks but for a party of six (4 adults and 2 young children) the a bit over priced to say the least. Case in point, our bill was approximately $950 inclusive of gratutities. I am going to recommend this restaurant but be mindful not to have the staff create any shared appetizers (they cost just as much as the entrees).
Attentive service and safe dining during this COVID19 crisis. Excellent food and delightful experience.
great food and great services every time. staff is so friendly and attentive.
The food was superb and the service excellent
Food was awful.
Our favorite Italian in NYC. Always authentic and feels very local. Highly recommend.
Amazing service and food.
One of my favorites. some of the best pasta around with a great ambience.
My future son-in-law’s birthday
Great food, attentive service. Loved it!
Italian restaurant? No Italians in the staff I was hoping the cook is Italian but judging the food quality and the raw ingredients I do not think so. Branzino was not cooked in the right way ,polpette cold and done maybe a day before ,wine list price average too expensive... never again.
The best service in the city!
Food was incredible but service was particularly slow. Waited 30 minutes for a menu to be brought to us. Food took longer than that. Highly recommend for food but faster service please. It's ridiculous to wait for almost 45 minutes to get our first course when your bill is going to amount to $167 including tip.
Bathroom also needs cleaning. No one was inside the resto when I was looking for the bathroom. The lady (who was carrying dishes for washing) did not understand what I was looking for. If you're going to charge top price for food, I expect the bathroom to be spotless.
It was great enjoyed it
Too few waiters for the number of customers. Took 1hr 40 min to receive main dish, and we were there early before crowd. Too expensive for poor service.
Seated promptly and wait staff was very good. It took more than an hour for the entries to come from the kitchen. To our disappointment it arrived cold and we decided to get the check. Been to the restaurant many times with good experiences. Maybe running a restaurant during a pandemic was too taxing.
The food was delicious. I was just disappointed that we wanted a couple of bottles of wines and they didn’t have it but I understand because of COVID-19. Other than that it was really good.
I have always loved this location and the people that work here are amazing. So happy to see them and have their wonderful food!
The wait staff made our evening special and paid attention to every detail. The patio tables were quiet and quaint. We loved it!
Great food. Staff did well for outside dining. Will definitely return.
The place seems a draw for wannabe bad boys and attractive young women wanting to meet them, but I would be embarrassed to bring my Italian relatives here for a meal.
They should really skip the greasy toast, non-Italian parmesan, greasy fried zucchini and tasteless bruschetta brought to the table when you first sit down.
We had OK Prosciutto mediocre grilled octopus, and a commercial desert tartufo.
Service was fine.
Classic and timely. Great outdoor dining. 5 star plus
We have been going to Il Mulino Uptown for years. We were so happy to go during this COVID time. They had a nice set up of tables outside. It was great to see the staff that we knew working. I give them a ton of credit. Running around with a mask and never missing a beat. Il Mulino was fantastic as usual. We plan on going back again in a couple of weeks to support them during this time.
Very pleasant and helpful from when we called to say we couldn’t find the restaurant nor could we find a parking lot.
Great dining. Great experience
Over pricec
Services as always very good, food less than average
Eating on the street and $60 dollars pasta that looked half a portion....
Waiters in t shirts
This post Covid reality sucks!!!!
Drinks and appetizers were great: main courses were very disappointing: worst carbonara ever and veal chop parmigiana completely burned!
Fabulous food
Great service
Everything was great. They were very accommodating.
Wayne is amazing wonderful experience ! Everything was excellent
Love the food at Il Mulino
So glad they have a midtown location
Outdoor seating on the street - next to Phillipe
They just need to add flower pots like Philippe Chow did
Many large trucks pass by but still a lovely experience
Food - EXCELLENT
IL Mulino is back with a wonderful outdoor social-distanced space that is really great. Of course food and service is just as top notch as it always is. So happy to be back. Thank you to the staff for a wonderful meal and world class service and care.
A L W A Y S A W E S O M E ! ! !
