Il Mulino New York - Uptown

Was looking forward to our dinner... we sat down ordered a drink and the waiter asked what we wanted to order... we told him we needed a minute... he informed us the kitchen would close in ten minutes... so.... if that is the case don’t accept 9:30 reservations... the food was great but we were rushed.. to the point it was uncomfortable...

My wife and I arrived to a mostly empty restaurant at 1230 on a weekday and had excellent service, interesting dishes to choose from and a variety of treats served before our order was taken, compliments of the chef. The ballet of small plates served and silver and porcelain placed and removed from the table was well choreographed. My bride had the lemon chicken and I had a salad with arugula and avocado and pasta with clam sauce..

Very loud and tight but understand it is what it is and did enjoy the meal

The food was excellent but we were rushed ! They brought the food way to quickly and acted as though they wanted to turn the table ! The couple sitting on both sides of us said the same thing ‼️the wait staff was very nice but when we spoke to the manager he was a jerk and very obnoxious ! If you want to dine and have a great meal go somewhere else

Lovely food as always. It was all a bit rushed as we were the last of the afternoon dinners starting at 3pm. It felt like it was a race to get us out by 4pm so that they could prepare for the evening dinner rush. (Starter, main and desert in 1hour.....)

Great food...very small restaurant and wasn't seated until 30 minutes after reservation.

I don't use the word exceptional often, however this was a meal that defines the word. From the service to the food itself it was all perfect.

Overcrowded. Noise level was very loud. Service was extremely rushed to where we had to stop the waiter from removing our food until we were finished. The food was average and very expensive. We will not be back.

It is Amazing... food, service best in the city

Amazing experience, it was very crowded but we were taken care of right away and it was a great night. Il Mulino is the best restaurant in NYC! Can’t wait to be back!

I would give all 5 stars, but we never were served bread or complimentary bruschetta. Our neighbor table received both. Other than this faux paus, everything was wonderful. The food was fabulous!

The legacy Il Mulino is missing. The service was passionless; food good but not great. Disappointing

The first impression was great. Staff that were super attentive and service minded. However, the service stopped after the first 15 minutes. During the actual meal no one came over unless it was to take our plate. It’s a pretty wide gap from what first met us.

We made a reservation based on the thanksgiving menu. After we were seated and placed the order we were made aware of that they served tiramisu for dessert. We asked about the pumpkin cheesecake, where the waiter just said no - there was tiramisu. The turkey was dry, had a lot of small bones, clumps of fat and cartilage. Seemed like leftovers. The mashed potatoes were exactly what it were described as - mashed potatoes. Tasteless. The sauce and the nuts were good though.

The tiramisu was good, but not why we came there. We were hoping for a pumpkin dessert on thanksgiving.

Immediately after the dessert the bill were placed on the table, without even asking for it.

My boyfriend and I came here for Thanksgiving dinner and the food was terrible. Our favorite part was the Parmesan cheese at the beginning of the meal. The tables are extremely crammed together which is normally fine if you’re not paying $75 per person to eat. The service was good though.

We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving meal! Loved all the complimentary appetizers.

Another spectacular night at Il Mulino. Food and service were top notch. Not surprisingly it’s a busy place!

We were 3 women who after just 59 min were asked to move to the bar where they would buy us a drink. So unpleasant
The bar was packed with no where to sit or stand . We ignored request and we stayed until we were finished catching up on our lives .
Meanwhile there were other tables clear and free

I have been here several times and I have to say that this time was disappointing. We waited 25 minutes to be seated with a reservation. My pasta was good but the bread they bring around was stone cold and not very fresh at all. The desserts this time were not very good at all. (There's something wrong with gelato that doesn't melt .) Just not the quality I expected from past visits.

Hostess was not interested in helping us check in. Even though we had a reservation, we got a pretty lousy table. I felt like a second class citizen. Food was good but not amazing. We went for a celebration but it didn’t feel like anything special.

Awesome experience. You’re taken care of the old school Italian way from the time you walk in the door until you walk back out. Truly an outstanding Italian restaurant.

Noise level incredibly high. People are screaming at each other twice refused to move us to to vacant tables. Stated they were reserved if one wants to eat alone even if you are with others this is a possible choice if not try to reserve a table where you are sitting next to the person you might want to talk to. I do not know how important you have to be to reserve such a table. Noise level effects the service and of course the ambiance. Veal was good pasta a big disappointment

We felt rushed, waiters intruding constantly and not in above way, but asking “ready to order” or “”all finished” when some of us were anoise was terrible, will not retutn!

The food and service was excellent. The crowd is energetic, but your are moved along like an assembly line. Dinner for two, excellent bottle of wine and friendly service for $650.00 is not the problem, slow down....its not a race.

Way overpriced for what they serve. The restaurant is very noisy, too crowded. The food is just mediocre.

While I usually love this place this time my guest and I were wedged next to a large loud “businessman dinner” and two ladies who who were basically screaming when they weren’t on their phones. We literally had to yell to have conversation, felt like the food was thrown at us. So disappointing

Great authentic Italian good and service

Better than the original one Great atmosphere . Great pasta. white truffle added plus.

Love the carbonara and everything at this restaurant
