Il Mulino New York - Uptown
There’s no place like Il Mulino New York. The luxury Italian restaurant’s flagship Greenwich Village outpost initiated New York’s fine Italian dining trend and is still prized in the city’s elite dining scene. Zagat has rated Il Mulino New York as Manhattan’s No. 1 Italian restaurant for decades and has said the restaurant provides "one-of-a-kind" cuisine filled with delicious flavors, creating an "outstanding Italian classic" restaurant where "every dish is a masterpiece."
Executive Chef Michele Mazza, who hails from Naples, Italy, has proudly carried this tradition since 2003. Fresh ingredients, artistic preparation and impeccable service distinguish Il Mulino New York as one of the world’s premiere restaurants. In addition to fine dining, Il Mulino New York provides excellent off-site catering and products.
Divine food and superb service!!! The servers could could not have been kinder or more attentive!
It’s Il Mulino, enough said.
Best Italian food in Manhattan
The food was very nice and service quite good. Nice set up and ambiance. Great for business lunches.
Il Mulino is a civilized place for lunch in midtown. It is quiet and elegant without being stuffy. The prices, however, are quite high and the food is just okay. It's where you go for a business lunch when you want the focus on your deal, not your plate.
The food is very good and the service is also solid. The noise level is way too high and the really want to turn the tables. They bring everything out way too fast....including the check. They put the check on the table when we were in the middle of dessert. Not cool for the money we spent.
The food is fantastic. But for a tab of $350 including tip for two people, I do not expect to be rushed. Ever. It was my friend's birthday, I had not seen her in a while and it felt like we were in a race. We were not there even two hours and it felt like every person came up to us to push us through each course. When the floor manager came to ask for our coat check tickets I knew this was a place I would never return.......maybe I'll have to go back downtown or East Hampton but I'll leave this local to the UES folk. Disappointing.
The staff is amazing. The food is outstanding. Atmosphere is a combination of Warmth and Elegance.
I’ve eaten here before but I am amazed at how they sustain excellent service. Bravo once again.
A wonderful Italian restaurant on the upper east side. I wish I could have tried all of the breads presented and the lump of parmigiana was delicious. We had lobster and shrimp, both excellent.
Outstanding food and service. Every. Single. Time. Can't wait to return.
Staff was almost too attentive if that’s even possible.... Food was delicious, vibe was definitely more lively than their Soho spot and a great bar scene. The maitre d Rudy was so sweet and gave us a perfect table. Will definitely be back!
Came for my fiancé’s birthday. Stated so on Opentable and called 30 minutes ahead to ask them to make sure to put a candle in the dessert. They didn’t. Really frustrating and upsetting. They made up for it by comping the dessert but I’d rather they have gotten it right to begin with.
Food was delicious. Kind of loud for a nice Italian meal.
Lovely place, with Great service and delicious food
Il Mulino was Amazing! The food was excellent. The staff was entertaining. I highly recommend to anyone looking for great food and service.
Great restaurant, but service was to fast. Place wasn’t packed, but felt I was being rushed. Great food & service, but need to slow things down.
Food is very good. Wish they don't rush you so much. Each time we have been there it feels like they are rushing to get us out of there. Some tables you get constantly jostled by people walking behind you, which takes away from the experience.
Simply a terrible dining experience from the moment we arrived (early, not late) until we left. Asked for a better table - told "no". Asked for our order every few minutes - had to tell the waiter to leave us alone. Pasta dishes were mush - way overcooked. Lobster ravioli was like pasta with cream cheese inside. The captain simply walked away when my wife responded to his question about how she enjoyed her meal and she showed him the "special" dish. Over $400 spent and a total waste of money. Uptown Il Mulino will ruin the brand of what is a fine downtown restaurant - never again. Several tables along the walls were still empty when we left and when we pointed that out, the captain just said, "Good evening".
Always excellent food and service. We come back time and time again as it is so consistent. An all around great experience.
friends in town
I booked over a week in advance on OpenTable and when we arrived, they put us at a table right next to the door at 7pm. We kept getting bumped every 30 seconds and the service was terrible!! They do not assign individual waiters to each table so 3 different people stop and ask you if you want a drink, 4 people if you are ready to order, and 4 again to ask which wine you are choosing. We must have had close to 20 visits to our table during this meal and couldn’t have a conversation without an interruption. We could not wait to leave. The food was okay—nothing great—and neither of us were wowed. There’s much better food elsewhere in this neighborhood and definitely service is far better elsewhere for a weeknight dinner. Would not recommend or go back. Horrible experience!!
They did not have a table for us despite the fact that we had a reservation, so we set outside. It was 45 degrees and very cold.
Awesome food and service... would recommend this place to all my friends!
Food and service was good. prices were overrated for what they served
Very good service The place a little dark, the list was not seen well neither the plates.
A dim lighting is nice, but you should have some facilities to see the menu or the food.
Everything enters through the eyes!
Very disappointed in our experience this time. I have eaten at this restaurant during each of my past NYC visits the last three years, and enjoyed it much more before. I thought we were treated rudely.
We were celebrating my daughter's 25th Birthday, and was not even "comped" a dessert for her.
We were seated at a small table and I asked that we could have a larger one. The request was denied, and several of those tables were not occupied all evening.
Past servers were much more accommodating and personable.
I do not know if we will visit again....
Do you want loud noise, crowded spaces, mediocre food, adequate service, pretentious wine list. You have come to the right place.
It is nothing like the IL MOLINO at Aqualina in Sunny Isles in Florida. Where service is excellent and true Italian food preparations can be found. This is NY trendy and ineffective. Don't waste your time and money. There are so many more great Italian restaurants within a 10 block area.
Amazing food! Wonderful staff!! Loved it!!!
El servicio extraordinario, Capitán, meseros y ayudantes muy amables . La comida exquisita.
Excelente restaurant, servicio dedicado, expereriencia garantizada... todo lo que tomamos y comimos estuvo espectacular! Mis felicitaciones!!
We ordered a lovely dinner but felt rushed by our server throughout our entire meal. I will not return to a restaurant who charges high prices for food selection and then the clients are felt rushed between each course particularly after desert. Outrageous!
Soon after we arrived they told us we could only have our table until 8:15pm. The steak my husband ordered was over cooked. When we asked for another steak they brought another steak that was raw. We have been to this restaurant many times and have never been disappointed.
Food was subpar and not like the original.
The pasta and chicken were bland.
The carpaccio was watery.
$50 for a lunch main course is a bit steep. Food is good but not for $200 for 2 people with no alcohol, during lunch.
Excellent service and great food - hard to beat Il Mulino
Expensive but worth every penny
Food was very mediocre. Service was poor. Ambience was excellent. Would not recommend this place.
Wait staff was exceptional. Food was beyond delicious. Had the meatball special as a starter and wow! So delicious. Love the cozy ambiance. Will definitely be returning when we are in NYC again.
Always a great time, impeccable service.
