There is plenty of charm in the restaurant with its dark natural wood furniture and rough stone tiles walls.

Trattoria Il Mulino - Atlantic City - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
To say I am impressed with this restaurant would be an understatement. I have eaten
there several times and it doesn't seem possible but they get better each time. I think
the linguine and lobster in a white wine sauce was probably the best meal I've eaten EVER!!!
I had a wonderful dinner with business clients at Il Mulino on Sept 13th. I raved about the experience and my wife suggested we take her mother there for her birthday. Unfortunately, I booked a reservation at Trattoria Il Mulino for Sept. 18th. The Trattoroia is no where near as nice as the Traditional Il Mulino.
I was embarassed as the atmosphere was so noisy, the food was so-so at best and we had to continually ask to have our drinks refilled.
They really should change the name of the Trattoria as it does not even remotely reflect the quality of the traditional Il Mulino. Will I dine at Il Mulino again? Absolutely.
Will I dine at Trattoria Il Mulino again? Not a chance.
We had a wonderful dining experience. I noted in my reservation that we were celebrating my retirement and my husband's 65th birthday. Our manager came over to our table to congratulate us. At the end of the meal, a lovely array of desserts was presented to us. Everyone was so attentive.
The food was fabulous. I had the most delicious Shrimp Francaise I have ever eaten. The shrimp were enormous, but very tender.
We both enjoyed our dining experience and look forward to returning on our next trip to A.C.
Inviting ambiance & Fun decor, food was flavorful & beautifully presnted. Service was outstanding & desserts incredible! We were a party of 3 & ordered the Rigatoni, Manacotti (special) & Margharita Pizza. For dessert we had the cheesecake & flourless chocolate cake.
The Trattoria is a great alternative to the restaurant (right next door). Great food at a more reasonable price. The service was attentive and the price fixe menu (choice of two appetizers, 3 entrees, 1 dessert) includes a delicious tiramisu dessert and a great Caesar salad, but one of the main entrees (veal piccata) was served on the plate without any garnishes. One of our members ordered shrimp from the ala carte menu and he was surprised because they were huge and he raved about how good they tasted. We would definitely go back there again.
We arrived 30 minutes late for our reseervation but we were seated immediately. Head hostess NOT very pleasant, however, the hostess who actually sat us was VERY pleasant. Servers VERY attentive and knew the menu inside out. Heirloom tomato salad was large and enough for 2 to share, Gnocchi bolognese......EXCELLENT, Shrimp Francese......the LARGEST shrimp ever seen and EXCELLENT as well. Too bad for us, no room for dessert, maybe next time. Would recommend to all!!!
The desserts were fab. I have to admit I found the dining at IMNY tops for me than the dining at the Trattoria. Waiter seemed rushed, curt and unattentive in the beginning but was a bit more attentive towards the end. We had to ask for more coffee from another employee as the waiter did not return but at the end he did give us a cordial of their homemade Lemongello (which was great). We dine out alot and pretty much have been to practically every restaurant in the City. I like Il Mulino and I always give the benefit of the doubt - it could have been an off night for our waiter and I would go again to see if there is a diffence. We had a great meal at the IMNY previously. I am not a complainer - just feel mgmt should be aware.
Amazing from beginning to end! We had a group of 8 girls and the servers were amazing, the food was amazing! Best calimari I have EVER had and the arugula and procuitto pizza....sooooooo good....First time there and we all can't wait to go back! Awesome...Awesome...Awesome!!!!
Have been to this restaurant several times and have never been disappointed. The food is tastefully prepared, the sauces are great and the dessert always worth the return. Service is excellent! They make an effort in preparing each dish and this appears to be consistent.
Four pieces of lettuce was the $9 salad. It wasn't so much the price as how incredibly plain and average it was. Also, I think when someone orders a special that's not on the menu and that is significantly more expensive than comparable items...the waiter should tell (unasked) the price. Salmon on the menu was $28, but the special sounded better. It was $44. Service was just fair. Waiter kept wandering away as we were trying to ask questions. Drinks came out very slowly. Restaurant was only half full. Seemed very understaffed.
