Trattoria IL Mulino is an Italian restaurant in Atlantic City. This is a casual dining establishment with a hint of elegance and a sophisticated vibe. Ambient lighting gives the dining room a cozy feel that's great for a quiet conversation and a glass of fine wine. There is plenty of charm in the restaurant with its dark natural wood furniture and rough stone tiles walls.
Cuisine served at Trattoria IL Mulino follows classic Italian recipes with fresh, flavorful ingredients. Bread appetizers are served before the meal, and guests can choose from a yummy selection of antipasti (appetizers) before the main entrees arrive. Try the succulent stuffed veal chops, chicken parmigiana or the roasted salmon. Trattoria IL Mulino also serves from a great choice of domestic and international beers, wines and cocktails.
Another great experience with my sisters..the server LINDA who I previously called Peggy (to which she graciously answered)was once again amazing. So friendly and my experience there never seems rushed which is what adds to the great food. Hoping the Taj remains/reopens and Il Mulino remains a staple for them as it will for me.
food was very good. A little pricey. Service was excellent
Resturant is closing in two weeks. I f not sooner.
Extremely noisy. Very poor service. Dropped food and left. No follow up. Portions were very small for the prices charged. Would not recommend or return. This restaurant seemed to not care because he Taj is closing in October. Manager never came over to check On us with all the complaints we made. A very bad dinner service for what was supposed to be a birthday celebration for a very good friend. Most embarrassing.
AMAZING DINNER...STAFF ACCOMMODATED OUR EARLY ARRIVAL, SERVICE NOT AT ALL RUSHED SO WE WERE ABLE TO ENJOY OUR WINE, TALK AND EAT WITHOUT PRESSURE. PEGGY IS THE BEST; OUR SECOND TIME WITH HER AND WILL REQUEST HER WHEN WE RETURN LABOR DAY WEEKEND. GNOCCHI BOLOGNESE WAS FANTASTIC, THE FEE ZUCCHINI CHIPS APP TO DIE FOR. LABOR DAY CAN'T GET HERE SOON ENOUGH. THANK YOU!!!
The veal picata did not have peas in it. The portion was small but very very tasty. I have been there before and ordered chicken picata which they don't serve anymore. The rigatoni was excellent. Everything I ever ordered there was excellent, except now the portions are smaller.
The food is excellent but the noise is overbearing. We ate early to get a little quite but the lucky ones had hearing aids the could turn off. Next time we go to Manhatten.
Food was excellent, service was extremely professional, and all the waiters kept coming over
to check on us. Overall, a great experience.
I liked the upscale/relaxed feel of this place. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The "prix fixe" menu with antipasti, entree and dessert for one price was a good option. The Salmon Livornese was different and very tasty. Service was well-timed and friendly.
Initially disappointed not being able to get into the main restaurant since it's one of our favorite places. We were seated near the open kitchen in the back, (almost like being at a chef's table!) service was awesome, food-delicious & a fabulous nite w/ our favorite bottle of Classico Chianti. We started w/ an anti-pasta & gnocchi bolognese. Then we enjoyed stuffed shrimp (huge, only ate 2, had the rest for dinner the next nite) & hubby had the fettuccini Alfredo. Before you roll your eyes, it was made w/ black truffles, to die for! I could have gave the pasta chef some competition w/ his gnocchi, mine are more tender....😊
A great nite! We'll definitely be back!!!
Price Fix menu was great for us.
We had the Caesar salads. The salad was larger than I expected for a price fix one. The dressing was tasty and in proper moderation.
We each had cocktails with our salads (Bellini and Tratorosa(sp) ) I was enthralled with the Tratorosa!
The bread basket had 3 soft squares were delicious and had a complex flavor I can't put into words. The other bread didn't look as interesting so we didn't try it.
The veal picatta was fork tender. The sauce had the best flavor ever...it was a good strong flavor!
The Salmon Livornese was the moistest I ever had! The Livornese sauce was delicately flavored.
We each had a glass of wine from the large "wine by the glass " menu...a nice Zinfandel and a nice Malbec
We got the desserts to go and can't wait to dive in!
A great evening!
Food was wonderful. The gnocchi with bolognese was spectacular. Prices for the casual side of dining could have been a little less expensive. Service was a little slow considering only half the dining room was full and there were two servers covering each table. The wine options were nice and worth the cost only if you are purchasing by the bottle. Wait staff was pushy about purchasing alcohol, and left us feeling a little uncomfortable about not purchasing more than we did. Dessert was tasty but not memorable. We'd give the tiramisu a 5 out of 10 and the mango sorbet a 7 out of 10. Definitely worth a one time experience because the pasta was delicious.
Good place to stop by to get a small bite to eat, fairly priced. My original plate wasn't appetizing at all, I actually noticed my chicken was a little over cooked. Working in the restaurant industry "both my partner and I" we tend to pick up on things right away. But we told our server that I wasn't happy with my plate and less than 3 minutes later I had a new one. Only thing I have to say I really disliked was that it was extremely hot in there. To the point where my 3 month old started to get frustrated because he was hot and sweating, we tried to enjoy everything on our plates but the heat was getting to us and we were trying to get out of there as fast as we could. But overall I think we will be returning. "If the AC gets fixed" lol
Excellent food and service every time! We always enjoy dinner here before a show.
Food was great, ambiance and waitstaff!! Def be back next time I'm in AC.
Was at Il mulino New York 2 wks prior. It is obvious that the two restaurant being side by side and connected by a hallway, use the same kitchen. They must have two separate chefs because although we ordered basically the same meal, it wasn't as good. The service was not great either, It seemed the the staff was pretty stretched out.
Some of the entrees were huge and loved it but then some were alot smaller. Overall a great place for dinner in Taj Mahal.
We picked this place for a pre-theater dinner. Surprisingly, our reservation was checked twice, by a girl with PC at the entrance and by another girl at the next crowded post equipped with another computer. Food was much below our expectations: Calamari piccante ordered by my wife was too heavily breaded and overly dry. My order of oysters was "forgotten". When they finally arrived with two sauces, I had to catch our waiter to ask for a spoon that was missing (the oysters were ok). He could not find a tea spoon and offered a table one. In fact, in the course of the diner we were served by several accidentally available waiters passing nearby who could hear us. Linguine with clam sauce was dressed with a kind of a broth, like Chinese noodles, but supplemented with burned garlic. And, of course, nobody offered me some parmesan for my pasta. The whole place is very noisy because it serves as a passing corridor for serving the main restaurant behind the wall. They all run and run around in terrible rush. This was the least pleasant dinner we had this year. Avoid this place.
The food, service and atmosphere were very good. We had appetizers and drinks during Happy Hour. It was inexpensive and the food was excellent.
Food is always outstanding! Service was very friendly & prompt. We look forward to returning very soon. I love the veal. The wine was good & I really enjoy the fresh whipped cream on the desserts. My wife loves the pasta dishes. My son had the pasta with spicy crab & loved it. Staff was very happy to sing happy birthday to my son's girlfriend.
Good quality food in a relaxed attmosphere. Service always great. Salmon was tasty. Complimentary appetizer.
