ok I hate to even give them a bad review. The restaurant was empty and it felt awkward! Our waiter was superb and I wish I could remember his name! The food just did not seem "on point" like the other IL MULINO locations.. .. that we have dined. My husband got the Zuppa De pesce-- the cheese gal came around with the parm grater. My husband said" oh just a little bit' She raised her eyebrow and said " really Italians do not like cheese on Seafood--" that also was awkward!
This is a special restaurant with excellent service and wonderful food. However I think it’s better to go with a few people, not just two people. The reason I say that is because many of the dishes are large and would be great to share. Also the service is impeccable but there are so many people waiting on you that when it’s only two people it seems like a lot! Anyway the food is rather expensive so go with the group it’s more fun that way. I was there with just my husband, and we had a lovely dinner, but it was kind of quiet and boring for just the two of us. We have been there many times and it’s always wonderful. Hope you have fun.
From the moment we entered restaurant, we were treated like royalty!! Service was outstanding!! We were given fresh Parmesan Cheese that they sliced in front of us, sliced zucchini chips, bruschetta with oodles of tomatoes, choice of breads. All that before we ordered. Generous martinis!! I had the clams oregonato. My husband had lentil soup and pork chops!! Everything was 5 Star!! Then a desert sampler. Tiramisu was our favorite!!
CAN'T WAIT TO GET BACK HERE!! If you love Italian food but want more of an eclectic meal (not just spaghetti & meatball) this is the place to be. People's reviews (SoBe location) are somewhat negative, and scattered, comparing this spot to their other restaurant(s) in NYC but I feel this location is just as awesome and my wife says this place is her favorite spot for business lunch too...
We were seated promptly but it took a while to get menus and drinks. The food was very well prepared and the portions were large The veal chop and branzino were excellent. All in all, the dinner was very good and almost worth the price ($529 plus tip for 4). Its a good place to impress your guests. Better food preparation than the Orlando branch.
Best Italian in south beach.
No other comes close.
Not like one would expect from I’ll Mulino.
Food wasn’t as good as NY sister restayrants
Great restaurant. Upscale clientele.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary on Valentines Day. Dinner for 2 ultimately totaled approximately $560. 3 glasses of champagne from a bottle at retail costs less than 200, 2 glasses of wine, a limited menu with 1 desert choice that was 4 chocolate dipped strawberries.
Over rated, and price gouging. No wonder the place was 30% empty .... Disappointed
Enjoyed a lovely lunch with my family. The food was delicious and the service impeccable. Highly recommend!
Outstanding food, service and ambience! Love it in NYC and love it in South Beach!
Il Mulino in South Beach lives up to it's reputation as an authentic Italian high end spot. I've been to two of their other locations and so far all have (basically) same menu but their own ambiance. The Miami Beach location is clean and crisp in all white decor. I had gnocchi special in gorgonzola cream sauce. Very rich but delicious. My only disappointment was their signature Italian cheesecake didn't have the distinct amaretto flavor of the other locations.
the wait staff is the best , cant wait to get back there .
Wonderful. Staff extremely friendly. Pleasant atmosphere. Excellent food. We will be recommending it and hope to be back soon.
This is a great restaurant. Try the Doversole. You won’t be disappointed.
Wonderful welcome by the maitre’d Food & service are perfect. Very nice atmosphere as well.
2 people ordered fish with brocolli and potatoes as sides. They forgot the sides which were prepared with rush and got to our table by the time they were finishing with the fish.
Excellent in the very way!!!
Have been to Il Mulino a few times. Found the prices out of line this time. Food was not outstanding or excellent, for that matter & therefore considered it a waste of money. I don't mind paying if the food is outstanding. It was not.
An outstanding experience. Definitely coming back!!
Good italian food, eficiente service, in a small but charming anbience. Better than I expected.
Great homage to the owner and associates! Amazing people and the best food and drink.
Always a fantastic meal here! Everything is always perfect.
Fantastic dinner in this South Beach outpost of this iconic New York restaurant. Food and service as good as the New York original, decor is definitely South Beach rather than New York
Excellent service. Great food. Good wine list. Highly recommend. Perfect for special occasions.
Delicious! And the service is exceptional!
Awesome all good
Impeccable service! Great food
This gem is an absolute must! We savored the 3-course lunch special and it was not only a great value but also such an enjoyable experience! As other reviewers have said, service is excellent, the decor is stylish and modern yet casual and inviting, and the food is unsurpassed. Before we were even given menus, we were greeted by a server offering chunks of Reggiano Parmesan from a huge rind; soon after, a bowl of mandoline-sliced and lightly fried zucchini appeared, along with individual servings of fresh tomato bruschetta and 3 choices of Italian breads with olive oil and wonderfully syrupy balsamic.
Our 3-course lunch allowed for many (~6-8) choices from each category of starter, main, and 2 dessert options. The 3 of us enjoyed a fresh tomato salad, porcini ravioli in a walnut cream sauce, and capellini pomodoro. Pasta was prepared nearby on a portable table; the pasta was perfectly al dente and portions were dinner-sized generous--I had to take home half of my capellini. Main course: steak was perfectly cooked rare, salmon was on a bed of spinach, and the branzino was the winner-- huge filet grilled and topped with a lemon caper butter sauce. Dessert: cheesecake or tiramisu-- both light and elegant.
As if this weren't generous enough, we were presented with home-made limoncello-- the perfect cap to a perfect lunch. Only negative would be the very pricey wine list-- our moderate Rose was $80. Regardless, I highly recommend you savor this very special place.
Great food and even better service. The veal was outstanding.
This new location is awesome. The decor, service and food were spectacular. It is expensive, but definitely worth it. We took a relative for a special occasion and we were all very pleased. It was the best service that we had at a restaurant in years.
Try this IL Mulino -South Beach, you will love it.
Awesome as always
I'm a big fan of Il Mulino. I've been to a lot of them, but it was my first time at South Beach. It's a small place, in a very nice area of SoBe. The attention is superb, and the food is extraordinary. It's consistent with the rest. Great experience overall.
Great food. Had the Osso Buca with gnocchi, it was delicious. I was very impressed and can't wait to go back.
as always everything was perfect! the food, the service ability to be able to have a conversation without shouting!
This is one dreamy gem. The best restaurant ever. The pasta is cooked to perfection, the restaurant is super clean and looks spectacular and super cozy. The service is always outstanding. The food is consistent and always perfect. This is our number one favorite place for dinner. WE love it every time. Thank you Il Mulino for always being the best.
Went for Miami spice n had an amazing experience all the way thru !! Would and will totally recommend this place to all !! Thanks for a wonderful evening !!
This place was absolutely fabulous. From the staff to the food, I highly recommend it.
