Simply The Best Italian In NYC!

We were almost 30 minutes late - we called to let them know and they were so gracious, never mentioned it after we arrived. The food was perfect - we ordered a lot of different things for 6 of us to to share and every single thing was delicious. Our waiter was fantastic - just the right amount of friendly. New favorite restaurant for special occasions.

Sadly it's not the place it once was. We will continue to go because it's an old favorite but we will need to lower our expectations. For a long time it was exceptional.

Amazing! I went here for my birthday with my parents and could not have had a better experience. Would recommend to anyone who wants full service, great wine, and great food.

Love the complimentary bruschetta, zucchini and Parmesan starter. We ordered a pasta to share as a starter. The Bronzino could easily feed two. I recommend adding the tomato from the bruschetta on top with olive oil. If they bring you grappa, lemonchello is also avail. Love this restaurant. One my top 5 in 30 years in NYC.

The food at Il Mulino is very good, but the service was erratic, included too many people who didn't know what the others were doing, and ended up forgetting what we'd requested. Too much "shtick" in the waiters presentations of the food - funny, but a bit silly. And the price was too high: for four people who drank little, and had no appetizers, including tip, the bill was $325. If the ambiance had been better, and the service what you expect from an expensive restaurant, it might have been more worth it, but I'm afraid we won't be returning.

We came here to celebrate my birthday. Everything was perfect! The food was amazing and the service was excellent. We’ll definitely be back soon.

A truly authentic Italian experience. I would give the service level higher if able. Our table side prepared pastas were amazing and everything was fresh and delicious. A perfect and cozy Manhattan memory.

Love it! It’s the best. We try to eat here every time we come to New York. I’m sure the other IL Mulinos are good but I’m sticking with the original. The service cannot be any better!

I have traveled all over the US and several European countries for the past 35 years. Il Mullin is by far the best dining experience. The food is outstanding, the service is impeccable and you are treated as a guest not a customer. It is truly a 5 star restaurant. I will come back as often as possible.

The dinner here was fine. Nothing great nor terrible. Out of 6 dishes our party ordered 2 were good and 4 were not very tasty.

The best two dishes were the Lamb and the Flourless desert.

The pastas were not great and the meatballs were mediocre at best. The service was excellent

Restaurant week winter 2020 - lunch. Meatballs appetizer, sea bass entree. Nice breadbasket and a chunk of aged Parmegiano Reggiano with thinly fried zucchini slices as a complimentary accompaniment. Great experience!

Il mulino is the kind of restaurant that anthony bourdain used to butcher in his books. Super stuffy and filled with arrogance....yet the food is mediocre at best. I dont always frequent super expensive establishments like this, but occasionally, i want to celebrate a special night. I've dined in some amazing places which cost insane money.....Il Mulino just doesnt rise to the occasion. For the diner who wants exceptional service and excellent, truly authentic italian cuisine in NYC.....visit Angelo's on Mulberry. I should have gone there in the first place, and wont make this mistake a second time
