Il Mulino New York - Puerto Rico - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
The food was wonderful. the menu great. the service became a bit slow due to the way they create the pasta dishes in the dining area. so our wait was long. however, the food was delicious and the manager apologized for the wait appropriately.
I woud dine there again if in the area.
The service was exceptional! We were placed in the private area which was great because it was our wedding anniversary . We were waited on by four people and they never missed a beat-well coordinated by the staff!
Food was well prepared and I must say-perfect! WE WILL BE COMING BACK!!
The food at this restaurant was delicious. First of all when you first sit down they bring you different types of bread, then bruschetta and this zucchini dish that was so good... all before you even order your food. The service was fantastic as well as the food. Would definitely recommend this restaurant!
I have been to Il Mulino in NYC (downtown) many times and once to the Las Vegas one. We had the Bertani 2007 Amarone, squid ink pasta, otopus starter, lamb chop and the Dover Sole. Wow. Oh yes we had a Barolo as well, but the Bertani was better. I am a foodie and I loved the place!
We were impressed with the ambiance and the staff when we first arrived. We were seated immediately and everyone feom Bisser to waitstaff introduced themselves. Bread and cheese hit the table and were delicious. Then the service started to fall apart. Took forever to get a round of drinks. I only saw one bartender working to fill drink orders for the entire restaurant. Food came and it was disappointing. The bolognese pasta dish was undercooked and very light on meat. Another pasta dish was overcooked and just mushy. Two of us had pasta with mixed seafood. The pasta was prepared well, but the shrimp were small and the scallops were micro sized and got lost in the dish. Second round of drinks were also slow coming. Didn't order dessert. We just wanted to get out of there.
Friends night out. We made reservations in advanced. We selected the four course with wine pairing special for the month of March. Food was good; octopus as appetizer, pasta, filt mignon and a chocolate dessert with their respectives wine. Overall service was good and waiters were attentive and cordial.
Only comment is that there was an overall smell like wet carpet, but not particularly to the restaurant. Other than this we have fun.
We were vacationing in Puerto Rico and had been told to eat at Il Mulino. It is located within a hotel casino, so the setting is a bit odd, but once inside, you are transported to the NY Il Mulino, and Italy. Service was lovely, there were many (maybe too many?) freebies and portions were generous. It is quite pricey, but overall we had a nice experience.
We're foodies originally from NY,, and have been to Il Mulino. I asked for a quiet Table and we were sat in the middle of the room. Thankfully the adjacent tables had very well behaved children, but traffic around the table not what I wanted. Service was excellent until we had our entrees in front of us. I asked for my Swordfish medium rare. It was a really nice piece of fish, except too cooked and no one came by to ask how we enjoyed. I believe the tab for two was $200 with no bottle of wine.
We came to this restaurant based on a recommendation from a friend, it was all that they indicated. The food was excellent and so was the service. the staff was very attentive and always there when needed. One of the best restaurant experiences we have had.
