The restaurant is very nice and the ambiance is great. Our server, Herb, was fantastic. The Miami Spice menu was nothing special. My friend had the mussels for her app which she didn’t finish because they were not good. She loved her veal entree. I’m a vegetarian so I only had one option, the penne, and it was a dish I could have made at home. Very generic and bland. My Italian Cheesecake and double espresso finished my meal on a high note. We each had a Moscow mule for our cocktail.

I loved this place. The best was the service, outstanding. I made a reservation for our anniversary, so they prepared a lovely table for us, with red petals just in front of a window with a view. They congratulated to us, and at the end of the lunch, they brought to us the desert with a “happy anniversary “ and two glasses of champagne or prosecco with strawberry as a decoration. Our Miami Spice selection was the octopus perfectly cooked, mussels in a white wine delicious! The Chicken Marsala and veal limone were very good and the panna cotta delicious. The server was very friendly professional and attentive, the manager and the whole staff the same, kind and professional. The restaurant has a warm and romantic atmosphere.

The wait time was disrespectful to a customer that booked a reservation through the open table. So, we had to stand for more than 35 minutes to take our place.

The food wasn’t good in a butter pasta, that’s correct; a simple butter pasta for kids. That was very very expensive and horrible. That was a shame !

The other plates were good and a service was awesome

I don’t recommend this place an a high end option

We were looking forward to trying this location as the one in NY was very good plus it was miami spice and wanted try it!! UNFORTUNATELY WE HAD A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!
We felt that once we wanted the miami spice menu the waiters were anxious and in a hurry to get us out!! The food was skimpy and all of our 4 dishes were tasteless. The filet mignon which was $ 10 extra was horrible, over done and no sauce. Since when does a piece of mignon come in two pieces?? My veal Milanese was ordinary and greasy. Desert was also disappointing. The worst tirimasu with fake cream.
The dinner was $300 a couple with drinks tax and they added tips.
A RIP OFF!!

I had a great experience at Il Mulino. The service was outstanding and the Miami Spice menu was a great value. The food was great. Parking with validation was $13 which is surprisingly inexpensive for this type of place.

Disappointed in the overall dining experience this past weekend. I have dined at IL Mulino many times in New York & Miami. I thought the quality of the food was very inconsistent. I hope this issue is corrected as I love IL Mulino NY.

From the minute you walk in till seated service was top notch. The service is incredible and so is the food. There are so many good Italian restaurants in south Florida but this is the best and worth the drive. It is worth traveling from Palm Beach county to this restaurant.

One of the best restaurants in Miami! However, the lamb chops were over cooked and they did recooked them but everyone had finished eating! The cocktail order was taken one drink at a time and served one drink at a time!!!!!
Food otherwise is delicious.

I can not recommend this Il Mulino location because the service was so far below what a restaurant in this price range should be. After selecting a bottle of champagne from the wine list to begin our meal, we were told they were sold out - of everything; there were no champagne selections available (on a Sunday night of a holiday weekend). Then I picked a French red, only to be told it too was not available but they did bring out two alternative selections. At other restaurants I’ve been offered a more expensive bottle for the same price as my selection, not at Il Mulino. They have a captain / waiter / assistants structure but no sommelier? We all felt that the service itself was brusque and unfriendly. The food was satisfactory, but for the price the service should be more welcoming and helpful. I have had lovely meals at other Il Mulino locations, but I will not return to this Miami location.

This is a wonderful restaurant, that I discovered back in 2009. I keep going there for special occasions, such as last Wednesday for my son's graduation. I live one hour away and don't bother at all the distance when it is for such a gem!
Everything is top notch. Prices are on the high side but worth every penny.

Il Mulino is a great spot in Sunny Isles Beach. Pretty, but also kind of dated. That said, it's nice to be at a great restaurant in Miami that isn't decorated in the standard Miami cool decor. Food is very good, but also very pricey. $75 dover sole. $50 salmon. Seems a bit steep. But included appetizers and great bread selections, after dinner drink, and service help to ease the sting. The restaurant is somewhat dark. Doesn't really take advantage of the direct ocean view. However the old world Italian charm is appreciated and the food and flavors are worth a trip. Lamb chop, salmon, risotto, soups, or pretty much anything on the menu will leave you full and satisfied.

Although the service at Il Mulino is impeccable and the atmosphere is about as romantic as you can get in Miami, my order of Red Snapper in tomato sauce, one of the specials, was horrible.

First, the waiter failed to mention
it would be served with lobster tail, partially in the shell, festooned on top of the fish. The lobster, which appeared to be broiled, was infused with sand or grit possibly from the shell. Or worse it was not washed.

Each bite tasted like I had sand between my teeth. I even had to reach into my mouth and remove pieces of the shell, or whatever the gritty pieces were.

This ruined what would have been a great dish, since the fish, sauce and muscles without the grit was otherwise delicious.

Second, my blind date, who was as bland and boring as the Perrier I was drinking, because she did not drink, ordered Branzino.

Again, while she and I love Branzino, the waiter failed to mention the fish was enormous and more than enough for two people to share.

My date picked at it and left most of it uneaten. I felt bad for the fish that sacrificed its life for a picky eater.

Had we known in advance how large the fish was, we would have split it and I would have eaten it all, and thus would have avoided the sand infused lobster tail.

Il Mulino waiters need to be far more accurate in there descriptions of specials than they were with us.

Hence, the Diet Coke, Perrier, cheese and faccacia appetizers cost me $200 while the fish went to waste.

An unhappy experience all around.
