Il Mulino New York - Miami Ratings and Reviews
The guest is welcomed with a warm and friendly ambiance. The decor is classic and very pretty. The pre- menu treats (a freshly carved piece of parmagiano cheese, thin crispy slices of micro zucchini, and bruscetta) are fabulous and set the mood for cuisine to come. The prescuitto and melon was extremely fresh and sweet - probably the best I've ever had. The Cesare salad was fabulous, as was the rigatoni bolognase. For desert we requested a special dish: mixed berries topped with zabiglione, which was also the best I've ever had!
The food was disappointing especially because of its reputation and price. Pasta mulino was described with peas, mushrooms, pancetta and black truffle in a vodka sauce. I saw maybe two small pieces of mushroom, no truffle and the pasta was overpowered by a thick vodka sauce which congealed making the whole dish heavy and unsatisfactory. For a main I ordered the shrimp oreganata whose description contained lemon and garlic. There was no lemon taste at all and the shrimp were dry and overdone.
Incredible restaurant with extensive menu and fabulous service. Our only issue with Service was the strong accent that the Italian waiter had; although it's very authentic it does make it more difficult to understand all the ingredients and specials, especially in the noisy environment. He was very patient with us and also with the children at the table . Food was exquisite and although expensive, some of the best veal I've eaten. Definitely worth the visit and we will be back.
We chose Il Mulion to celebrate our one-year anniversary and loved every moment. Service and attention to detail were great, with the waiter team captain Gustavo coordinating quick delivery of appetizers, drinks and our entrees. Food seasoning and temperature were perfect. Arrival/departure experience with the valet/door staff also was an equally warm and pleasant experience.
We tried the Miami Spice menu and everything was great. Specially the octopus for appetizer was so tender and delicious. Our servers were great, service is of very high quality. Really attentive. I was celebrating my dad's birthday a few weeks later, and they gave us some extra desert to take home with us. For free.
I do think is a bit too dark inside the restaurant for my preference...
Having recently returned from Italy, I can honestly say that Il Mulino is a cut above the rest. The service is impeccable . Lightly fried spicy zucchini chips, and bruschetta as a house compliment. Grilled octopus salad(perfectly cooked) and capellini arrabbiata as our appetizers. Our main courses of sautéed lemon veal and chicken piccata with a side of truffle mashed potato (decadent ) were all delicious ❤️
Wonderful elegant dining experience.
I was disappointed that IL Mulino NY charged $16 for a glass of regular house red wine. Unless it was a great wine. ...I find it a little pricey for a glass of wine. I was not given a wine list so it was hard knowing what the cost was. Sorry to say that ruined an otherwise good meal.
Absolutely the best spice menus in Miami or Miami Beach. Lello took great care of us, Especially since my wife has celiacs and cannot eat gluten. He bent over backwards to take care of her allergy despite that we ordered off the spice menu! Get there before the end of the month and you won't be sorry
The GM was very outgoing, friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed the ambiance. The music was on point. The service was great. The food however, was not at all what I expected from Il Mulino brand. The oysters were not shucked well and rather bland, surprising since Miami is by the water? I ordered langoustines however what came were shelled tiny shrimp, had me scratching my head. My sister enjoyed her main which was a meat. Will have to do a re-do, perhaps Il Mulino New York will change my opinion of the food.
