Il Mulino New York - Long Island Ratings and Reviews
Great experience, impeccable service, excellent food!
Only comment I️ could make would be if they could expand their wines by the glass menu ever so slightly to include a few white wines at least. My wife doesn’t drink and I️ was driving so buying a bottle was a bit excessive.
Excellent food and service. We have been to a few of the Il Mulinos and I have to say my most recent one at the Roslyn location was the most memorable. Everything was delicious, I mean everything. The wait staff were on point. We even had nice chats with both of our “neighbors.” Such a great dinner experience.
I’ve been there several times. The food is good but the service is very poor. The waiters are inattentive, just stand around bored and could care less about you. Basically rude. Only for the fact that my wife likes the food, I would NEVER go there again. An ungrateful bunch of service staff
We have been going to Il Mulino for over a decade for apeciak occasions specifically my husband’s bday since its the day before Christmas Eve. This year we took our three daughters bc they are old enough to act properly and they did fine. The service was good as always but a bit slow. The biggest disappointment was the food. We ordered three specials and one carbonara pasta which is usually amazing and wasn’t incredibly greasy and fatty. I was very surprised as we have always loved going there. Im not sure we will spend that kind of money again with the food not being what it used to be.
My wife and I had a great time at Il Mulino. We have been planning to dine there for so long, but never had the time. Then we finally had a chance to go and had Sunday supper. The trip was sooo worth it. The food is amazing! The ambiance is great. The service is excellent and attentive. I think my wife and I have found our new go to Italian restaurant.
Not what it used to be. This restaurant maintains none of its former quality, while still charging astronomical (for Long Island) prices. My risotto was severely overcooked, while my wife’s fish was full of bones. To make matters worse, they presented her whole fish at the table, prior to allegedly filleting it. Unfortunately, they returned with her filet within 30 seconds. No one could filet and present a piece of fish that quickly. I honestly found the charade to be insulting. We’ve eaten here a number of times in the past. We won’t be returning. There is much better quality, for the money, at other Long Island restaurants.
Been here many times over the years. I used to visit the original Manhattan restaurant. The original was more expensive but the it was worth every penny. Our food was fair, our service was fair. There was nothing to really speak about, we could have gone to any Italian restaurant in the area and had food of equal or better quality for half the cost. $17.00 & $19.00 for a drink, and Ok service , you can keep this place.
The meal was great until dessert. That is when the server gave my wife a dessert with nuts after we explained her allergy three times VERY clearly. We spoke to the manager who offered to take care of us NEXT time. They should have done more for a $300+ dinner where my wife would have been in the hospital. There won’t be a “next time”
This time around the service was poor, and the seating odd (next to waiter computer - and staff kept reaching over us to grab wine glasses and decanters). Head waiter did come over to offer a half-apology, and café on them, but then of course we were charge for such! But food was still good...just be careful where you sit, and don't expect any mistakes to be taken care of.
Lovely restaurant and authentic Italian elegant cuisine.
The lighting was a bit dim. I could not see my food or the menu fully.
They took the romantic aura a bit too far.
Fabulous service and the best pasta that I ever had -- better
than the one in the City even.
Il Mulino has always been a fave going back 20 years or more to their Village location. Last night had Shrimp Fra Diavolo. Good, of course, but not up to their usual every bite a delight. Caesar salad just mediocre. Going in reverse order, free apps were outstanding. As was service.
Big Disappointment - went with the family, kids in their 20
s, the oil was oozing out of the free cruidites, the chicken breast w salad was bland, caesar salad was yucky, and the food was nothing special , no one loved their meal and it was expensive. Also, relatively quick meal, everything came fast, for that kind of money, they could have slowed down and let us dine, but we were all happy to leave
