Il Mulino New York - Long Island
Live music on Thursday nights from 6 pm - 9 pm.
Mare night seafood menu at $49 per person.
Sundays regular ala carte is available, plus we have a Sunday supper prix fix menu at $39 for four course dinner.
beware of the waiter who offers you a deal on a $195 bottle of Tuscan wine for $150 only to tell you after it's poured that he 'made a mistake' and to make up the difference the bottled water at our table would be on the house. 2 bottles of water for $45 REALLY! Didn't want to argue about this as I will NOT be returning to Il Mulino.
Loved the experience. Not priced for the casual dinner out but well worth the price for a special occasion. I can’t wait to return.
Awesome dining experience! Food was outstanding as well as the service!
Restaurant was packed during Covid times.
People came in without masks - Had 8:00 PM reservations and got seated at 8:30 . The place was packed! Luckily got table in a corner - so felt ok- but tables were to close together in general!
Took a long time to get appetizers and entree- food was good - but rushed us to be out by 10 . Understood they had to close at 10 - but we spent a lot of money on dinner and had waiter hovering over us to pay check and said they had to close in 7 minutes. They sat people down at 9:00 and they were first eating their entree when we were asked to pay check - they seemed to know someone there and were not being rushed!
Unfortunately - we would not return because they definitely were not compliant with social distancing and masks .
Went with my wife for dinner, restaurant came highly recommended, food was very good. I completely understand the that restaurant industry has been hit hard by the pandemic but as a fine dining establishment there must be a bar set for the dress code. There were multiple men dressed in hoodie sweatsuit suits with sneakers.
There is a time a place for dressing like that. I think the host needs to not allow people dressed for the gym in for dinner and the reputation of the restaurant will most likely excel.
Probably won’t go back.
The food was fantastic
Gracious host
Will return
Amazing service, had the best anniversary dinner ever!
Took 20 minutes to get seated. It was fairly packed as well
Beautiful experience
Had a great time. Great service and delicious food
Sat by door which wait staff used to access outdoor dining area... very cold. Baked clams were mediocre at best .. needed salt. Had the scampi oreganata. Shrimp were very good however escarole unlike the clams was very salty .. dinner for 2, 2 glasses of wine at $260 ..underwhelmed.
I was seated by the wait station and not once but twice the staff dropped a plate and made the loudest noise that I even jumped, not to mention the 6 foot distance was not adhered to with the waiters standing behind me Very noisy as well. Food was nothing special considering the price and they couldn’t even get a margarita made right. I expected more from this restaurant.
Always a gem of a destination with perfect food, wine and service.
Veal piccata & spinach with garlic were both fantastic. Wish they had a better selection of wines. Overall great experience!!
We had the Sunday supper special. A fantastic value at $43. Of course, we had drinks and wine and it came to more that $86. But so good and what a pleasant experience.
The food and quality is excellent! I would highly recommend.
terrific as usual
great for special occasion or everyday dining
although pricey
Great food atmosphere and staff.
Excellent place. Great chicken park. Great antipasto
Always a fabulous meal!! Service & staff accommodating always!
Save this restaurant for a special occasion, or anytime you want a fabulous meal that is served with grace an elegance by a professional staff.
Great great night .Dover sole amazing and great bottles of Borolo. What a great night. Service fantastic.
not fair to rate ambiance noise level during covid. food good. service greqt
Excellent meal
People at only other table in tent talking face time, loud & rude!
The zucchini flowers were outstanding--crisp and surprisingly light (for what they are). I had the half rack of lamb and it was very tasty and tender. We also shared the mushroom ravioli which were delicious. The Osobucco was also very tasty but a bit expensive.
Good food, impeccable service. A little more crowded than I thought it would be but they tried to keep the social distancing
different with Covid
We ordered tuna tartar to share as 1st course
pasta to share as 2nd course
They brought it all out together
So odd
Then there was no time in between they brought the entrees out right away
The busboy had to run over and clear our plates to serve the entrees
We sat with empty wine and water glasses
We had a bottle of sparkling water but it sat far away and no one came back to refresh
They rushed up but there were plenty of tables
Food was good but also just not the same pre Covid
I know it’s so hard to manage this
I feel so bad what this is doing to restaurants
Anniversary
This restaurant does not adhere to the social distancing guidelines and does not enforce the masks on policy.
The food was amazing!!! As was the service. Very romantic restaurant. Very warm ambiance.
Food and drinks very good as usual. All safety protocols were in place. They do try to rush you. Not kidding when I say the original serving team member handed me the wine list before I was actually seated. Slow down a bit especially when you are spending $300 for dinner.
The food was good but not for that price. Service was very good.
Outstanding place to eat, service is beyond exceptional!
great service ,great food and the best dover sole in ny state
Good food. Good service, but the protocol was horrible. The bar was crowded and no masks ! Felt very unsafe. Not coming back.
Food is usually good, which was the case today except for one entree, which was always a go to but today was subpar. Service is usually great. It’s understandable that things are a little different now, but there are some things you don’t expect when you’re paying the prices you’re paying to go to a restaurant like IL Mulino. First, there’s no reason a waiter should be berating a busboy in the middle of the dining room for all the diners to notice. Second, for a high end restaurant, water glasses on the table should not be empty. Third, a waiter should at least ask how the food is when it comes out. Also, We shouldn’t have to flag down the waiter for a glass of wine. Like I said, it’s understandable considering service is probably stretched thin. However to spend 350 bucks in dinner and drinks for two people, not all of the food be up to the same level it’s always been, and the service to be lacking also, it makes you think you’re probably better off eating at a much less expensive Italian restaurant (which we have plenty in Long Island) for the time being until service and food can get back to the normal standards expected from one Jr. Th most expensive restaurants on Long Island. I’m hoping tho restaurant can get back to being the gem it’s once been.
The staff is aristocratic in their attitude and responses to basic questions. I brought friends from out of town that don’t dine out much. Instead of acting welcoming and helping them have a good experience at a fine dining restaurant they almost seemed bothered by questions and acted better than them which was unacceptable. If your a goody I guess and only enjoy fine dining it may work for you I’m sure i was just disappointed in their general attitude.
Amazing, as always the food is excellent !
Great restaurant but a bit overpriced. Service great. The have on the check "captains tip" and I think that is a bit over the top. Just pool tips like all other restaurants do.
