We had not been here for years, but made a reservation easily due to Covid-19. I am guessing we were some of the last diners here now that restaurants have been ordered to close their doors. We greeted our friends with heartfelt elbow taps and were seated by attentive staff. They brought cheese, sausage, eggplant, olives and bread to the table as we ordered our wine. Everything was fresh and delicious. I ordered baked clams for the table that were outstanding, perfectly cooked and seasoned. My main course was shrimp francese over mushroom risotto, that was equally delicious. My husband said his meal "was the best chicken scarpella he ever had." Our friends enjoyed a grilled veal chop and pasta that they said was wonderful. As this was probably our last restaurant meal for a while, I am glad it was here.
Everything was wonderful from the food to the staff to the service. Perfect!!!
The owner Brian was there and couldn’t be nicer or more accommodating. Made sure we had everything we wanted.
Bit of a long wait to be seated--but worth the wait
Amazing food but being seated and waited on always takes just too long for the experience you’re paying for.
Tables too close together. Food took so long that we requested it be packed up to go. Server was nice. It seemed the kitchen staff was overwhelmed.
The food was great; service was too. Wasn't crazy about the table we were given. The prices are very high and the wine list is off the charts expensive
It was fine, just overrated
Food was pretty good. Went on valentines day and paid $400 for them to run out of the Filet mignon. Only 4-5 dishes to pick from so had to choose something else. Besides that it was okay
First we were never informed that there was a fixed menu for Valentines Day. The menu had 3 times veal, Filet Mignon and Chilean Seabass. Who puts 3 times veal on a prix fixe menu. My wife ordered Filet Mignon and was told they had ran out, at 9.30 pm... Starters was Lobster Ravioli or Mushroom Ravioli, My wife is allergic to sea food, she order Mushroom Ravioli, they served her Lobster and Mushroom Ravioli. The waiter " Captain" was just rude and useless. Luckily the bread boy and help were very nice. I felt very dissapointed overall and will never return.
Don't go to this place for Valentines dinner. Overpriced and rubbish food choices. Normally a great place with a fantastic menu but for a special occasion like V day they reverted to a horrible, expensive, fixed price menu. Lesson learned, never again.
The service was horrible. After the waiter brought us our drinks we never saw him again. My food came out wrong after specifying that I had a food allergy and the waiter was no where to be found for me to correct my order. Never once did he come back and ask us how everything was.
My husband and I had dinner on valentines night. It was a price fixed four course menu. We had 845 reservations and were seated right away by the very sweet & pleasant hostess. Things quickly went downhill from there!! By 1030 we still had not received our second course and our waiter was nowhere to be found. We had to tell a busboy to just bring our dinner and forget the second course. (When I wanted to order a glass of wine I again had to flag a bus boy.) My dinner- Chilean Seabass came raw. Again I had to call a bus boy over to tell him to bring it back into the kitchen and actually cook it. After 10 minutes it came back out and it was still inedible ( so fishy in a disgusting sugary sauce) & I ate no more than the first bite. My husband also had the sea bass and thought it was inedible
.To Add insult to injury no one at the restaurant ever apologized or in any way tried to make things right with us.
It was basically a $500 dinner of salad & bread (which again we only got the bread at the end of our dinner because we called a bus boy over)
Great experience, always......next time, I wouldn't do amateur's night (see, St. Valentine's day) but sometimes you have to do what you have to do. The price fix menu was a little pricey and I was born and raised and still live in NYC area.....so, believe me it was pricey!
Dont waste your money. Last 2 times there the staff was not professional at all. Seemed like they were not trained to work in a restaurant with a price point this high. Food was pretty good. Atmosphere nice
The food and atmosphere were perfect. The service is amazing. Hope to be back soon!
Service was abysmal:
1 hour between dishes
Wrong dishes brought out.
Waiter disappeared. 2 others asked if we wanted desert even though main dish never came.
Different waiter brought bill
Others next to us same experience.
Food was good. We were not informed after making a reservation that it is a limited menu for Valentine’s Day. Absolutely ridiculous cost. Food was good but absolutely not worth it
Il Mulino was great. We went for a pre valentines dinner. The music was great! Very smooth crooner Sinatra guy singing. The waiter was nice but the bus boy was so sweet and polite. The food was delicious with a wide variety to choose from. The food was overpriced but the ambiance kinda made up for it. The ambiance was very dimly lit and romantic. Not a place I would take young kids to since it’s very quite and relaxed atmosphere just in case anyone was thinking. Overall a very nice experience.
It was our wedding anniversary. This is the second time we come to this restaurant and it’s nothing short of amazing. The food is excellent, the staff is really attentive and the ambience is just awesome. Couldn’t have asked for a more romantic dinner. My wife was super happy and enjoyed every minute of it. We were the last ones to leave the place literally. :)
Thanks for making this special moment even more special. Can’t wait to come back!!!
The entire staff was amazing, the captain was very attentive again, will definitely return!
Delicious food and incredible service. Love all their locations! Especially the Wainscott location!
Still got it. Terrific food, old school service, knowledgeable and on top of you in all the right ways. Delicious menu from top to bottom starting with the opening where pre-appetizers appear magically to the creative bread basket right through to dessert. Only caveat is it is pricey so bring your high limit credit card.
Great as always. You get what you pay for.
In just a few words. You are treated as royalty and the food is amazing.
Be prepared to wait 45+ minutes past your reservation, but the food is delicious.
Portions have decreased while prices remain the same or have increased in some cases. Not as great as it used to be.
My boyfriend and I ate here for NYE. We have been to the NYC location and loved it so we figured we try out the Long Island location this time around. Il Mulino did not disappoint! The food was fantastic and the service was amazing!! We will be back for dinner very soon!
everything was excellent!! The atmosphere , the food and service were excellent
A poor excuse for Manhattan.
Disappointed in the service
Too dark could not read menu without flashlight
I think this is one of the best place for Italian food in Long Island. Never disappointed!
On Christmas Eve I ordered the $125 Veal Chop. Yup $125 so I expected something like a tomahawk ribeye. Instead I received a 1/16 inch thick piece of Veal that was as dry as cardboard. Shame on them even letting something like this out of the kitchen and shame on the waiter for bringing it to the table. Never again for this place. They ruined the reputation for their other locations. Shame on me for not sending it back when it first arrived.
This was our first visit. It was a good experience. We ordered beef, veal , chicken and pasta entres andthey were all excellent. The deserts were exceptional especially the Napolean. If they could do this well on a very busy Christmas Day I will look forward to our next experience on a non-holiday
Lovely meal on a busy Christmas day
The service was horrible and the food was overpriced/cold.
Reservation for 7:15. Waited 45 minutes with no likelihood of being seated anytime soon. We left. Many others were in the same situation. We will not return.
