Nice new food options! Nice initial service but fell off a little as it went on. Some items were very pricey.
Culinary Perfection, flawless service, always a special evening!
Food was good, but over priced. Service was not good for place at this price point. Table of five, two entrees come out. We then wait what seemed like 10 minutes for the rest of the entrees. Unacceptable. Then we’re having a conversation and the waiter just interrupts us to start barking about dessert. Rude. Lastly, we order 5 coffees and two desserts to share for the table. Dessert comes out and no coffee until I ask the waiter for it. Poor service at premium prices. The food wasn’t that good that it would make up for such bad service.
Amazing food. Incredible dining experience
We were looking forward to dining at il mulino and was so disappointed . We didn’t have our menus yet when we were asked about water and ordered plain water with lemon. We were so shocked. When bill came and we saw there was an 8.00 charge for Il mulino water. Doesn’t every restaurant serve regular water? What a rip off. Food was ok my branzino was fabulous my sons veal Marsala looked like gravy train and didn’t taste much better my husbands chicken piccata was ok. Service was pretty good but prices are so inflated you would think everything would be superb. We definitely will not be coming back
Food was very good. Everything I remembered from the original 3rd st location. The staff is absurdly focused on running up your bill over. Everything else. Had a $40 drinks and a$ 200 bottle of wine to go with dinner for 2. Food was about 40% of my bill or $180 of the $400 tab. I tipped $50 rather than $80 which would have been 20% of the wine and booze. The waiter came outside and asked me if I realized i only tipped $50 on a $400 bill. I told him to go F. Himself.
We had a lovely dinner at Il Mulino in spite of how crowded and noisy the room was. The waitstaff is professional and attentive. They swooped upon us with parmigiana and bruschetta, salami and fired zucchini small plates as soon as we arrived. My chicken dish was lovely, moist and flavorful.
Two things were a little off-putting: we were never given a wine list, and ordered by the glass simply by the category of wine, i.e. pinot grigio. So we didn't know what kind it was or what it would cost. There's no wine list? And our waiter faded away once our meal was served, so that we felt a little bit lost in that crowded room as our meal came to a close. And we were mistakenly charged for the next table's food, a mistake that was rectified in between being handed the bill and having our credit card charged. And of course the prices are exorbitant here, so that these small failings become more significant in light of the high cost of the meal. Entrees are served without vegetables or potatoes fyi.
A true Italian cuisine experience every time we’ve dined here. Bravo!
In my opinion the very best dining experience in Long Island!
Went for my birthday and thoroughly enjoyed our moment there. The lobster ravioli was amazing, and my husband enjoyed his chicken parmigiana dinner. Our captain and wait staff were all great!
Food is always terrific!! Can get noisy on a busy night but overall we love the authenticity of their food. Never disappoints
From the moment we were seated at our awkward table in the aisle we began to suspect that we did not belong at Il Mulino. Maybe if we had been known it would have been different. The service was negligent. They did not know how to make a boulevardier cocktail. My swordfish livornese consisted of room temp fish covered in steaming hot Livornese sauce. My husbands veal marsala looked like it had canned brown gravy on it. The “Italian” cheesecake was suffused with almond flavor. Clearly not authentic. Clearly we will not be going back.
The food was very good and the service was very attentive. I was concerned due to some negative reviews, but honestly it was a very nice experience in an upscale restaurant with delicious food and nice ambiance. The portions on the price fixed menu were small but adequate. I would definitely return.
We were celebrating our anniversary. Great dinner with great service
As always the food was outstanding
A classic Italian restaurant. It does not disappoint. The appetizers and dinner were excellent. I had the Langostinos for dinner and I enjoyed it. I got to share the veal parmigiana and it was delicious as well. I tried the Tiramisu which is my favorite dessert. Service was great and waiters payed close attention to our table and took care of us. Dinner was pricey but when it’s for a special occasion then it fine.
Started eating at Manhatten location. Food was great. Went to restaurant in Puerto Rico at Ritz Carlton. RESTURANT was superb!!!
Ate at ROSLYN location. Disappointed. Tried again. The same. Ate at Atlantic City location. Fair. Won’t try again! Stale menu. Over priced. And they take advantage of you and don’t not care!! Don’t go!
I enjoyed my experience. The freebies were great, the food was good but the drinks were very expensive. $20 for a glass of sangria is ridiculous.
Really! How have the mighty fallen!
The menu is old school with no new touches.
Prices are stupid expensive for food little better than pizzeria food.
The decor is dark and half the light bulbs were out NOT off.
The starters provided are very nice and add something to the overall experience. That is the staff doing? They have captains and waiters and busboys BUT only take care of the regulars. Not worth the trip
Service and food were excellent, wait staff friendly and knowledgable, attentive but not suffocating.
As always, the service is exceptional. The captain, waiters and bus boys spoil you and make you feel at home.
The food, however, was just okay. The specials (on a monday night) were unreasonably expensive.
The ambiance is great. Loved the table we were given because there was enough light for my mom to see. Enjoyed the antipasto and breads. Confusion about the order but they made good on it.Hope to go again soon
Attentive wait staff. They start the meal right with the various included appetizers. The fried zucchini is great. Champagne truffle porcini ravioli was on point.
This time around, it was good, not excellent. The Octopus was so tough that we had to cut it with a steak knife, the clams were dry, the entrée's were spectacular. Unfortunately, they also forgot to add candles to my husbands birthday cake. I was a bit surprised as I even called and spoke to them about making sure they added a candle and was told that it was in the comments and he said not to worry.
the music was amazing, the food superb
loved every moment
Wonderful experience every time!!
There was such a tense vibe among the staff. The youngest bus boy seemed nearly frightened. Our ravioli tasted like nothing. My branzino was excellent. My husband did not care for the scarpiello.
We have been dining at Il Mulino for many years at this location and a few of their others.
We were there this past Saturday night for my husband’s birthday (my treat). Money was not an object and we ate pretty well. I noticed that they charged me $10 for garlic bread. I didn’t want to make a fuss and ruin anything on my husband’s special day but I thought that was chintzy.
Food was excellent but the menu was way overpriced for certain items. The restaurant was energetic yet noisy but that is based on the patrons not being considerate of everyone else.
Very good food, and attentive but not overbearing service. However, the dining room is so dark, you can't even read the menu. Everyone at their tables is using their phone flashlights because the lighting is so dim. We mentioned how dark it is to the wait staff, but they didn't say anything or act on it at all, as if they're told not to do anything about it. I loved the food, but I probably won't be going back because of how dark it is.
They were having a very off night in all respects! Normally a fan
Absolutely terrible. I never write reviews but this meal was so disappointing and the service was totally absent. We ordered shrimp cocktail and oysters - both were frozen and defrosted. We sat for 20 mins before being handed menus. Just really a huge disappointment!
Great for special occasions. It's expensive, but service and food are five star. Drinks are expensive, but priced as expected for this caliber restaurant. Pasta was out of this world.
Delicious meal with great service however very pricey
Always amazing food and a special experience. Take note of the specials and immerse yourself in the food and service.
Top notch all around, from food to service.
Doesn’t get much better than this.
Great food, great service. always a pleasure going here...
The food was great. Love this restaurant. Excellent food and great service. Pricey but very enjoyable.
Lovely atmosphere with live music. Food was good. Small plates and breads were wonderful. Service is truly first class
Fantastic food and very attentive service.
