Il Mulino New York - Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
Truly a memorable dining experience - outstanding service, food and atmosphere. We'll be back, with more friends, time and again. The service was perfect - fast, friendly and not noticed. Our group had Osso Buco, Spaghetti Carbonnara, and four orders of Frutti di Mare . each person felt they had the best choice and everyone wants to go back - enough said.
Excellent food and over the top service. The decor could stand a small refreshing upgrade as well as upgrade in the technology payment system. They do not have portable credit card processing machines..you have to go to a stionary area within the restaurant to pay for your meal if using a credit card. Rating 4.5 / 5 strars.
We've been coming here every time we visit Vegas. Part of the fun is the complimentary food served before you even order. The experience on Friday was very different. We never got the bread basket with the yummy garlic toast like usual. We didn't get the salami plate. Instead we got one serving of the bruschetta and a cold plate of zucchini which was just so so. We sat right next to the hot plates where the servers cook pasta dishes so the location wasn't ideal just because of all the servers gathering around that area. This is the first time we've been disappointed in the overall experience. We are unsure if things have changed in their process or if we just didn't get the typical service we have come to expect of Il Mulino in Vegas.
If there wasn't an Open Table "mix up" it would have been an even more enjoyable lunch. The food, service and ambiance was wonderful. I have dined there before and wanted to share the experience with a friend. However our much anticipated lunch was a bit uncomfortable due to the reservation system. I wanted to book a 1:30 pm lunch. The time was not available. But 2 pm was available. So I booked this time for myself and a friend, who had never been there before. I received the usual confirmation email from Open Table. We were both anticipating a wonderful late lunch. When we arrived just before 2 pm, the gentleman who greeted us at the entrance said that they close at 2 pm. I told him I booked the reservation on Open Table and even showed him the confirmation email. He said 2 pm has always been their close time. We were disappointed, and I was not happy since I had "talked up" the restaurant to my friend. We were going to leave but he said they would seat us. We didn't feel good about this since it meant the staff would have to stay longer. He said it was OK. We felt like they were doing us a favor. Once seated, the service and food was excellent. A couple walked in a few minutes after us and they seated them and I don't believe any mention was made that they close at 2 pm. I had suggested to the gentleman that perhaps they should be in touch with Open Table and edit the reservation times so this doesn't happen to others. He shrugged it off. It wasn't a big deal to him, it seemed. But it made me feel as if I was at fault, which it wasn't. I've learned my lesson. When I return to Vegas, I will probably want to eat there again, but I will call the restaurant directly.
This is definitely a pricey restaurant, but the food and service are worth a visit! Every dish was unreal delicious, and the service and attention to detail were fantastic! The hostess we were greeted by (didn't get her name), was lovely and pleasant. Patrick also greeted us, and was very accommodating and friendly. Fernando, our service, was so kind and thorough. He made sure we got exactly what we wanted, whether it custom, or on the menu. The restaurant offers a full assortment of delicious appetizer breads, as well as complimentary parmesan, bruschetta, and zucchini salad... they were all amazing! We enjoyed the calamari appetizer, and the crab and lobster ravioli, a huge steak, and pasta with white sauce and real black truffles. Even enjoyed the cheesecake for desert. SOOOO GOOOD!
Fantastic service and food. We had three diners sharing the gnocchi for a pasta starter. We then had rack of lamb, veal chop and another veal dish. All were outstanding. Wine selection is excellent with many choices from Italy.
If your looking for top level Italian Food this is the place to go.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Food, once past the excellent barrage of 'free' items, was really mediocre and vastly overpriced.
Plus, while the team service approach itself was basically good, the whole experience was negated by the 'wait captain' who basically acted in a boorish, rude, untimely, ill-disciplined manner --- trult disgraceful, almost walked out on him, and now wish I had.
My good friend and I came here per a recommendation for our birthday's (special girls Vegas trip) to celebrate our friendship. I was so pleasantly surprised at how the experience exceeded the high regard and recommendation from a co-worker who had visited the restaurant on his last Vegas excursion. Specifically the service, (the view was to die for) but the service is what made the whole experience. Raul was our "Captain", he presented all their specials and answered all questions we had about the menu. We couldn't decide between two pasta dishes we had wanted to share so he split both of them up in half portions for us to try. Like some restaurants, he did not look at us as if we were cheap for wanting to share a meal. He was so professional and friendly the whole time (they feed you as soon as you walk in) so we were happy from the moment we were there to the moment we left after enjoying a wonderful birthday dessert and Limon cello brought out by Lazar, yet another amazing server out of the several servers who waited on us that evening. The food was amazing, the service was amazing, the view was amazing! We decided that we are making this a yearly tradition!
Thank you so much for a perfect dinner and experience. I couldn't have asked for anything more, and I cannot wait to go back.
Service was very good. The early free tastes are a nice touch and were interesting and tasty. However the food, with one exception, was awful. The seafood special was the worst. Forty dollars for overcooked pasta, too garlicky wine sauce, and rubbery , unchewable squid and shrimp was ridiculous. Two ordered it, neither ate it. Desserts were offered as compensation. They were ok but insuffient. Food is overpriced even if it were well executed. We will not return.
Without a doubt, the worst food I have ever had in a restaurant.of this status. The head waiter presented us with aromatic white truffles, we were sold. We each ordered the half portion at $80.00 each. When the pasta came there was approximately 4 ounces of pasta, soaked in a bath of melted butter, the waiter shaved ONE slice of the truffle onto the pasta. The dish had absolutely no flavor how could it. I also ordered an order of Vongole oreganata which was also a disappointment, again little or no flavor. Rather than the usual preparation the clams were covered with plain cracker crumbs. My wife also ordered the Stracciatella ala Fiorentino that was so salty it was inedible, which was graciously taken back to the kitchen. If it were not for the fact that staff was so professional we would have walked out and refused to pay. We don’t like confrontations when we go to a restaurant, so we paid and politely left, and never to return. We have enjoyed many dinners at IL Mulino in New York but Las Vegas was insulting to anyone gourmet or not.
Il Mulino is a high end restaurant with top quality service and excellent food. You won't be disappointed here with any part of the menu. It is not an inexpensive meal however, so be prepared to pay for the experience. The service captain is fantastic and helpful. The service is prompt and the food is excellent. Try the Oslo Bucco, Veal Chop, or the fresh fish offering. The Veal and Chicken Parm are as big as your head and delicious. My only criticism is with the wine list. Pretty meager for such a nice place. In addition, there were four Prosecco offerings, and two were "out". How the heck can a top flight Italian place be out? Of course they pointed me to the highest price bottle. Not exactly customer friendly here. Overall great, but not as good as the New York home restaurant.
Absolutely wonderful. !! Took our son for his 27 th birthday and not only was the food and the service outstanding but they sang happy bitlrthday to him in Italian!!! Great touch and of course the FOOD!!! This restaurant is as consistent as it is excellent. Really cannot go wrong here. Pricey but worth every penny.
