Il Mulino New York - Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
We were surprised that the first service of Pellegrino Water was on our bill at 16.00 per bottle. We were not told at service? Everyone was very disappointed. Every starter was that was ordered was to perfection. However, be careful we were served more than what was ordered. My husband ordered a special and we were not given market price. That entree was a whole fish prep in rock salt. The bill $62.00. Overpriced and would have not ordered. One veal entree was overcooked and gritty. A poultry entree was dark meat and dry. The desserts rocked.
The service was first class. The Amuse Bouche was wonderful.
Very snobby attitude, wait staff were stiff with no sense of humor. Not a typical Italian restaurant feel. the appetizers they give out before the meal are great but the meal itself was just so so. $90 for a $10 bottle of wine isn't worth it either. I would find somewhere else to spend my money.
I thought the introduction, salads and appetizers were excellent. My entree was only average and really rather disappointing(Ozo Bruco). It was dry and rather tasteless. The wine was definitely over priced. Compared to the restaurant in NYC stay in NYC. Staff was great, but the kitchen lacked in the entree presentation even after looking at tables around us.
Went with a customer during a convention in Vegas. Service was professional albeit a little "stiff". The complementary appetizers were a nice touch. We both had veal. One Osso Bucco which was a bit dry and a $60 veal chop special not very tender. Most restaurants in Vegas mark up their wine 4-5X. The least expensive choice here was a $90 red-blend from Sardinia!
Do your homework before you arrive at this place
We had a late dinner after the Celine Dion show. Place was relatively empty, but service was not very attentive. Had tro wait a long time for someone to take our order. Everyone seemed to be more concerned about preparing the tables for the nest day. Bu8t we always enjoy our meal here.
This was our third attempt to enjoy this restaurant. During our prior two experiences we were here with very large groups (14-16 people each time). After those visits we wrote-off the bad service to the group size. BOY WERE WE WRONG. This time the antipasti were almost thrown down on the table, our waiter seemed offended that we do not drink, and when we split our meal he was almost angry with us. And to top it off, we were there for my wife's birthday. She could not have left fast enough. Never, ever would I go back or recommend this restaurant. I would rather eat at the buffet.
Overall a good Italian restaurant with enough space to not have your table neighbors hearing your every word. Big plus in my book! The staff is mostly Italian which gives it a real Italian vibe. Once you are sat they give you a few "on the house" h'orderves. When I went it was a piece of parmesan cheese(which was wonderful) a piece of fresh bruschetta (good but a touch soggy) zucchini pieces and a muscle. After all those I wasn't hungry! But I ordered al app from the specials which was eggplant rollatini. Good not great and a chicken dish w brown sauce which was also not wonderful. The chicken dish was literally chicken w a brown sauce and nothing else. One flavor, kinda of boring. We ordered a bottle of red wine which was good as well
This was our being 3 same gals that have alwYs adored the food and service! This time oops! The hostess was lovely and amazing the back waiters were on game point. The captain came up and introduced himself with that attitude n look "oh great 3 gals no tip n plate sharing" we all have seen that look! Oh but he had no idea we are business owners of a very prestigious catering company and I am a master chef. So he was a a pill the waiter was indulgent however we never saw our captain again. Oh, the food ask prices on the specials and you will get "the face" but we all work hard for our money, the veal milianese was 46 ands my new shoe leather would have tasted fine withsome good olive oil and pink sea salt. I ordered a beer with dinner bad !
Dining at Il Mulino is always a memorable experience. The inviting intimate atmosphere, amazing food, the personal service and attention to detail makes this place a first stop for me every time I am in town. Il Mulino draws the diner in immediately with sausage, Parmesan cheese, bruschetta, and delicious bread served before you even get a menu. The menu is filled with Italian classics and the additional list of specials makes a decision on what to eat even more difficult. Don't forget dessert, in addition to the regular desserts they sometimes have seasonal desserts like peanut butter ice cream encased in chocolate - pair it with a fresh cup of coffee for a perfect ending. Plan on spending some time for a great dinner at Il Mulino.
From the moment we sat down we were treated as if we were the only couple in the restaurant. They have a waiter for each course, beginning with a cheese course. The food was fantastic and the wine was paired expertly. The ambiance is wonderful - intimate and romantic. Definitely a fancy restaurant (waiters wear tuxedos and the tables are white-linen draped) but that does not "feel" like Las Vegas. While we did not sit outside, there is patio seating with terrific views. Overall, expensive, but very well worth it. We will return.
Expensive was a given before arriving, but the food and experience was the unknown...and it was not a let down. Exceptional in every way! We will definitely make it there every trip to Vegas from now on. But, be forewarned...it is expensive and if that affects your enjoyment, or if you have to budget, don't go.
The waiter rattled of the many specials so fast it was virtually impossible to comprehend them. Then when asked to repeat a few of them he gave us an attitude. A captains fee was a bit much. My chicken was dry. My friend's lamb shank was dry. The overall service was mediocre. Aft dinner was over and we left (and I was not the person footing the bill), I made it a point to go back and address the issues with the maitre 'd' so as not to embarrass the other 3 persons in my party, one of which paid the bill and the other was celebrating her birthday. He shrugged. I have been to thee restaurant on Long Island. lI was good. Las Vegas a huge disappointment, especially for the prices paid.
This was our favorite dinner (of five) during our Veags trip. Service is outstanding. You barely get seated when cheese and breads show up, and these little starters are delicious. Everything else was just as good. Be forewarned, however, it is expensive! Our dinner for two with most of the trimmings (we had wine but not a bottle) was $288 plus tip. Il Mulino is more expensive than the other restaurants we visited but not by a lot. Another warning, ask for regular tap water or you'll pay for bottled and they don't tell you (shame on them!).
