Il Mulino New York - Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
The most incredible Italian dining experience I've ever had. Within moments of being seated, a gentleman carrying a thirty pound block of Parmesan cheese is at your table cutting you fresh chunks. Bruschetta is then brought out, and you are given a choice of several breads. Incredible Italian wine list. The captain of our table was very helpful in directing us through the menu and specials. Portion sizes are huge, so we decided not to get an appetizer after the bruschetta. My seafood pasta was one of the specials. Flourless chocolate cake for dessert topped it off very well.
Service was very good and food also. A little disjointed on the plate cleanup ie too many servers in out and I had to remind them of my coffee. Just short of what it should have been but still a nice evening.
We've been to the original in NY, the one in Dallas and Chicago (now closed) North Miami Beach location also so we know what to expect.
Another absolutely superb meal! The waitstaff made the evening so special and the quality of the food was again, top rate. I recommend outside seating as the sun goes down over the strip. For the amount of food served even before ordering, and the delicious homemade fortified wines served after, the prices are very affordable. 5 stars!!
I was very DISAPPOINTED in my dining. As soon as we arrived, I felt as if the wait staff was a bunch of robots with their dialogue, etc. Out waiter/captain spoke so fast and automated when listing specials. When we asked to repeat, he scolded us from interrupting his speech! Really? The restaurant was not very busy and the staff was not very attentive.
Unless they make major changes, I will not be back...especially with ALL of the great options in VEGAS!
A great restaurant that is at the top of the game for Italian food. True to it's New York heritage everything that was served was excellent. We arrived late after a show and were the last seated but they served us well without rushing and everything was great. Other than an out of the way location upstairs in the shopping mall it is certainly well worth finding and enjoying an outstanding dining experience.
After many recommendations, I decided to take my group to Il Mulino for my fiancé's birthday dinner while in Las Vegas. It was his actual birthday the night we were there. However, no one seemed to care. There was no acknowledgement
of it, even though I added it to the notes of my reservation. I could've chosen many other places we love in Vegas for his birthday, but decided to surprise him with somewhere new and highly recommended by many of our friends.
The staff seemed a bit snooty, and the service felt rushed. On the bright side, they DO offer some lovely items on the house as you sit down to nibble on. They were all good. We have dined in many fine establishments in many different countries, and consider ourselves to be wine aficionados. In fact, just 2 weeks ago we were on a trip to Paso Robles to visit the many wineries we are members at. I was shocked to see that the Il Mulino wine list does not offer a variety of wines in different price ranges. We felt the choices were very highly priced. I was so turned off that we didn't order a bottle. I believe only 2 out of 6 of us, ordered a glass of wine.
Based on this experience, even the though the food was delicious and service quite lovely, I don't think I would return again.
The entire experience was amazing. From the moment you come in though the entire service you feel welcomed and valued. I'm a big fan of things being 'compliments of the chef'; it gives a feel of hospitality. Between the cheese and the grappa, (oh, that cheese!) Boy did we feel welcome. We ordered the Melon and Prosciutto, which I was slightly disappointed in only because they also had berries, and the blackberry and raspberry did not compliment like the melon did. I had the Alfredo which the pasta was perfect, but it could have used a hit of salt (or lots more parmesan). My husband had the saltimbocca and his had much more flavor than mine. It was cooked perfectly and a beautiful, homey dish. I will probably return to see if I find a dish I enjoy a bit better, because there were a lot of options on their menu
1) I don't mind paying high prices for good food
2) No comparison to the one in NYC
3) I had the penne with mixed fish in a garlic wine sauce. And boy was it fishy!! The bay scallops were nearly inedible and we're horrible. The muscles were not good. The sauce was more of a broth soup poorly seasoned and flat with no garlic....no taste. I was embarrassed to say anything because it was my husbands birthday, but this meal disappointed!!! The only thing good were the shrimps and clam
4) My husband ordered the special Ravioli's ($50 really??) with porcini mushrooms and truffle - no shaved truffle on top and cream sauce mildly flavored with truffle oil - he was not impressed
5) Best part of meal...the complimentary apps they give you were delicious and fresh.
Sorry Il Mulino, but Gordon Ramsey would have reprimanded you for serving those two types of pasta! Especially the fish fish taste you sauce before you send it out. Flavorless and strong fishy fish
One of the best meals I have had in Las Vegas period! I had the sea bass and it was absolutely delicious. Mouth watering, memorable! The service was excellent, the staff was wonderful. My wife had one of the specials with pasta and crab and she also was impressed! It is a place where you can enjoy the person or persons you are with. You can converse at a comfortable level about the great food and the food is Mmmm, Mmmm, good!
Fantastic service, atmosphere, and food. We were recommended to this restaurant by a friend and let me tell you, it was perfect. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. They completely went the extra mile to ensure we celebrated my wife's birthday in style. If you want great Italian food and want to be spoiled during your dining experience, this is the place.
There are many amazing places to eat in Las Vegas. I've tried most of them. But if I could only go out to dinner one time while here, il mulino would be my choice. I wish it were in a better, more scenic location, but that is the only thing I would change.
The service is the best. The ambiance is beautiful. The authenticity and flavor of the food is spectacular. I simply cannot say enough about how much I love this restaurant.
Not only is it my favorite in Las Vegas (and New York), it is my favorite dining experience anywhere.
This was our second dinner at Il Mulino. The first was outstanding in every way ... so much so we wanted to dine again on this trip. Once again the antipasta, appetizers, wine, and service were excellent. The flourless chocolate dessert was among the best desserts I have enjoyed. My partner's meal, too, was excellent. And although I didn't enjoy my entree as I had our previous outing, management went out of their way to make it right. Can't imagine a trip to Las Vegas where we won't return.
Great meal and fantastic experience at Il Mulino. The service is top notch - this how really good restaurants should operate. We were pleasantly taken care of from the moment we walked in till we left. The pre meal appetizers (on the house) alone are almost a meal. We had 2 pasta dishes that were very large and we split a salad. It was plenty and very delicious.
It was my wife's bday and we were actually going to leave without desert as we had had a very long Vegas day. The staff surprised us with 2 glasses of desert wine and what I have to say was the absolute best flourless chocolate cake we've ever had!
The only knock would be that they are are light on California wines , however they obviously had a large, world class wine list if one had wider tastes than I.
It exceeded our expectations. I would try this over some of the expensive hotel joints. We will be back.
Year after year, never disappointed. Consistent and solid. Wonderful service by a very well trained staff who never miss a beat. I used to think the prices were high. But not anymore in relationship to hotel dining prices. In fact I think its a value based on what you get.
If it's your 1st time, expect a lot of up selling. But that's ok. Just politely decline. Wine is pricey. My suggestion is to decide on a price point, tell your captain what it is, and allow him to choose. That's always worked out well for me.
I love everything about this place!! Especially the staff.. we are locals and eat here quite frequently, we are treated like family every time! Alicia, Bali, Raul and Anthony, just to name a few, are the absolute best!! Not to mention the food.. incredible!! Whenever we have family or friends come in to town, IL Mulino is a must!!
