The Cuisine of an Enoteca is the simplest of Italian cuisines, made with the freshest, highest-quality ingredients that create amazing, complex rustic flavor combinations. Our server was a bit aloof, didn’t know much about wine and forgot a couple items we ordered. Plus he and the other server argued several times in front of us and the other patrons, awkward. Plus I think it’s awesome chef Feker does the classes but perhaps shut the door so the loud talking and laughing doesn’t disrupt the rest of us.
Aside from that the food was great, the wine was tasty and the app was divine!
We've been here many times. The food was not as tasty as we have previously experienced. Several of us ordered the special and agreed that it lacked depth of flavor - everything was quite bland in general. Waited quite a long time for service which has not been our experience in the past. The waiter was very nice.
Arrived early for our reservation and they were able to seat us early. Service was bit slow but it was New Years Eve so was to be expected, waiter was apologetic. Food was excellent as always. We recommend it highly and will be back soon. Never disappointing!
We enjoyed a lovely meal on Christmas Eve after church. We had an early reservation which was good as the restaurant was full by the time we left and the wait staff was hustling to get everyone taken care of. I want to commend them for working to serve us on the holiday and pitching in together to get food served, drinks delivered, bills taken care of etc.
Other than the lack of attention that our waiter had to our table [it took >10 min for him to come back and get our order AFTER our appetizer had been delivered, and offered parmesan cheese for a pasta dinner and never came back with it] , and the insane mark up on wine [they charge $31 for an $11 bottle]...the worst part was that we had an EXTREME nut allergy, told the waiter, who either didn't tell the chef or they both were under attentive, because our appetizer was delivered to our table with pesto (which contains pine nuts). If I hadn't eaten the first bite and recognized what it was, my boyfriend would have ended up in anaphylactic shock and we would have been at the hospital before the waiter had come back to check on us or take our order for dinner. The appetizer wasn't even comped. I was more than disappointed.
My wife and I went to Il Mito to celebrate finishing our Christmas shopping. It is our favorite place to dine in the Milwaukee area, and we've been there many times over the past few years. My wife had a delicious seafood special dish, while I had their tenderloin special. As usual, we were delighted with the food, the service, and the ambiance. It's really nice to go to a place where the staff recognizes you as a returning customer (thanks, Caesar!).
Il Mito has had their ups and downs over the past few years, but seem to be back on track. A bit of a frustration with our reservation. Initially we were told our table wasn't ready but there were places at the bar so, no problem. But after half an hour with still nobody coming to get us, we checked with the hostess. Apparently they had forgotten us and had been seating walk-ins instead. But they quickly got a seated and after that all went well. The food is great. Table service is terrific. We will re-start being regulars again, and happy to do so.
Cozy italian restaurant in Wauwatosa. The menu had the traditional italian selection, but it had creative alternatives which we enjoyed. The food was fresh and delicious and the service was friendly. We enjoyed the creme brulee and tiramisu for dessert. Even the coffee was outstanding. We will be back to eat, but I would like to try some of the cooking classes as well.
The first time I ate at Il Mito's was when they were located just south of downtown. Then recently I was looking for a nice, different restaurant to take a friend for her birthday. I came across Il Mitos on line. So I made reservations and I was not disappointed. Our waiter, Louis, was very attentive to us and to all of the tables he was waiting on. Very friendly and very intuitive about what we would like to eat and drink. Since then, I have been back for a fun lunch with another friend and a business lunch with a client. Each time Louis was our waiter and now we are old friends! The food is absolutely out of this world. Chef Michael has not disappointed in anything I have tried. One day I had the special, pumpkin ravioli, it was truly wonderful!! The atmosphere is so quaint. This is my new go to restaurant. I have only one suggestion, please change the water "jugs" (they remind me of something that would be used at the Machine Shed). I am telling everyone I know about Il Mitos!!!!
We’ve passed by this place countless times for the past couple of years and never gave it a thought. Some friends recommended it and we will never pass it by again! The food is fantastic. The service is warm and friendly. It’s everything you want in a restaurant and dining experience. The only drawback is available parking but that’s far outweighed by the food and value. Don’t pass IL Mito by. It’s unbelievable.
Food and service was great as usual! Chef Feker has assembled a great crew at this restaurant! Louis was great and made my mother in law( who was there for the first time) very comfortable. The quality of the food is out of this world and to make it even better, I don't think there is a better value in town!!
