Enjoyed being able to carry on a conversation without having to yell. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely recommend to friends.
Food and service were superb. The salmon was perfectly medium rare.
Great as always!
Delicious calamari! Recommend the caprese salad. We tried the salmon, beef ribs, tortellini. Everything was tasty. Found the eggplant appetizer especially good. Duck was tender!
It was a bit too cold in restaurant.
This was our second visit to It Mito and they did not disappoint! Our waiter Luis was exceptional, and the entire staff is extremely attentive without being intrusive. As much as I wanted to try something new, I stayed with my favorite and ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese . I am already craving it again!
We have been here in the past and enjoyed the experience and the food. I am not sure if there has been a change of management but the food was not very good the service was very poor. The restaurant was not busy as it was a Tuesday and yet it took a long time to place our order and get our food. No attention to detail with removing plates, refilling drink or understanding menu items. It did not appear there was anyone in charge of managing the restaurant to address any of the issues.
Wonderful service and delicious food. My date was pretty spectacular too.
Ate on the patio. Really nice wine selection
Always a good time here. Delicious food, ambiance Is perfect and great service.
Great food, friendly and attentive service. Nice atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone who likes Italian food!
I always enjoy dining at old mito. Excellent food and service and a cozy atmosphere!
Ate here 4 times previously. This time we ate in their outdoor patio in back of the main dining room which is quite pleasant. Food has always been very good, but not this time. Watery mojito for $10 not impressive. Great service and kind waiter. Glass of house wine was ok, but not great. I would prefer bruschetta with the bread separate from the topping so the bread stays crisp. 3 small pieces of bread with tomato topping $8 is high. I ordered a breaded fried pork chop with polenta and spinach. Cooked well, but no seasoning on the meat. Tried to put some salt and pepper on the meat, but the shakers were plugged. One of those little details that the really good restaurants do automatically. The orange sauce on the meat was interesting. No more than a few tablespoons of polenta which I thought was stingy and it was not hot. My wife ordered a duck dish with a blueberry sauce. Sauce was good, but the duck meat (supposedly slow roasted, free range bird) tasted freezer burnt, was not prepared well and was tough and dry. Worst entree I've tasted in years at any restaurant. I brought this to attention of the waiter. He was kind enough to take it off the bill. Had we paid for that bad entree our bill plus tip would have been about $105 with no dessert or coffee which I think is high and not a good value. My overall sense is this place is not what it used to be. Perhaps they have a new chef who is not that skilled. Probably won't be back.
After dining at IME we walked out wondering why it took so long to try it. The food was very well made and we were served by the house manager who was a joy and was passionate about every dish on the menu. We enjoyed the beefsteak Florentine, the short ribs braised with Mediterranean flavors, and veal done in a piccata style. Each was delicious and we traded several bites. I want to return and try some of their pastas.
This was the first time I was there. Everyone was very polite and attentive. Food was delicious.
Would definitely go back again. The specials were fantastic and the spaghetti bolognese was out of this world. The tomatoes on the bruschetta were so fresh they tasted like they were just picked out of the garden. The only issue was that this was the hottest day of the year and the 5 minutes we sat at the bar waiting for our table was like sitting in a sauna. Glad our table was in the other room...would have been miserable to sit by the bar.
As always great food and service. Great place to get together with friends.
Louis greeted us like family and took good care of us. We’ve dined here many, many times and the food and staff have been outstanding each and every time.
First off, why do you go to a restaurant? The food of course. This place is wonderful. I had the lamb shank and it was fall-off the bone tender. I could eat that every day and never be bored. The pasta especially the bolognese was spot on great. I only gave the food four stars so that I could highlight the service as five! Doe you want a wine recommendation? Something not quite on the menu? Some smaller portion as an appetizer? Attentive yet not overbearing service, this place has it. Although I was only in Milwaukee for the weekend, when i come back, I'll be back at this restaurant.
Great home made food!
Everything we had was amazing! Best chicken Parmesan ever!
Service is always wonderful at Il Mito, and the food very good. This time, the octopus appetizer was a little tough, though the flavors were wonderful. The seafood pasta lacked flavor, but the scallops and shrimp were properly prepared. The duck my husband ordered a bit overcooked, again the flavors wonderful.
we always have an outstanding meal, and great service at this restaurant.
A solid pick every time. The gluten free pasta is exceptional!
We haven’t been here in abt a year and I was underwhelmed compared to previous visits. 2 tables near us were seated with adults with young children after we sat down and had mentioned it was our anniversary... not exactly the ambiance we were looking forward to. I had the duck, which was very good, but I wouldn’t order it again... Husband had the seafood pasta, he said the same.
Loved the menu especially gluten free
Great place for a relaxed, quality meal.
This is not your standard Italian restaurant. The menu has many interesting choices with seasonal and varied ingredients. The wait staff is very attentive and responsive. It's one of our favorites.
The Bread, The Salad, The Lasagna, The Service From Caesar——All Outstanding!! I’ll Be Back!!
Great selection, great food. Thought the pasta was a little overcooked but better than most Milwaukee Italian restaurants, was more true Italian than Milwaukee Italian. Tables are close but it was the right fit for the restaurant. If you haven't been here yet, you need too.
Il Mito is one of our very favorite restaurants. The food & wait staff never disappoint!
Very quiet for a Friday evening, especially inside. The inside dining area smells musty. We moved to the outdoor patio which solved that. The food and service were good, but the decor overall just seems tired. Hopefully a renovation will be in the works soon.
The atmosphere and food were very good, as usual. The only detriment was that the restaurant was very warm. Apparently, the A/C was not working.
One of our favorite spots. Love the food and stepped up, neighborhood feel. Service was excellent. We will be back!
The food is absolutely amazing! I’ve been there many times and the quality of food and staff is always exceptional.
Food good as always. Service a bit too slow and inattentive but friendly and personable. I will be back.
I am presuming someone called in sick because the waitstaff tried to provide decent service but was clearly overwhelmed.
Wonderful as always. We have been dining at IL Mito Enoteca for the past 7 years once a year for anniversaries and special occasions, always a meal I am happy we made the trip for, never once have I been disappointed in what I ordered.
I chose IL Mito for my birthday celebration, as I was in the mood for Italian food and wanted to patronize a local restaurant. Busy, vibrant restaurant - even on a Sunday night. The service was good and food was delicious! Was a bit surprised (and disappointed) that the restaurant does not offer anything special - like a dessert or small cupcake - for birthday celebrations.
Wonderful food and friendly people! The tiramisu was excellent!!
It was my second time here and I thought the food was ok. I feel like it was missing more flavor. Service and timing was good, not sure I’ll go back.
