I really enjoyed dinner here. Nice comfotable seating, and good sevice. Classic Italian menu with a few twists that made it very interesting. Food was delicious! I cannot believe I drove past this place so many times. I will be going back.
Our 2nd visit was as good as our 1st. Can't wait till our 3rd.
Amazing staff and delicious food!
Have been here three times before while traveling to parsippany ... this place never disappoints ... amazing food and friendly staff!!!
My wife, family, and I have been patrons of Il Michelangelo for several years. Our family visits Il Michelangelo frequently not only to enjoy the delicious food and fine wine, but to dine among our extended family members. Yes, Dominic, Connie, Eddie, Chef Dominic, Aldo 1, Aldo 2, Gary, and Mike have become family, albeit we are not actually related.
Chef Dominic is an extraordinary talent in the kitchen; he is just as personable at the front of the house. Inevitably, at some point during dinner, Chef Dominic greets each patron and chats with everyone at each table. Chef Dominic makes everyone feel as if she and/or he is visiting his home. At this point in our relationship with Il Michelangelo, we do not refer to the menu. We just ask Chef Dominic to 'handle it, handle it." We are never disappointed nor are we ever bored with the dishes he presents.
Eddie - what can we say about Eddie. There simply is not enough space in this review. From the very first time my wife and I had dinner at Il Michelangelo, Eddie has been unbelievably warm, friendly, inviting - simply fantastic. Eddie may be serving downstairs when we are dining upstairs, regardless, Eddie finds us and greets us, reinforcing what has become a familial bond.
Eddie is the consummate server.
Then, there are Dominic and Connie, the proprietors. After meeting Dominic and Connie, it came as no surprise where Eddie and Chef Dominic developed their outstanding qualities: their parents. The outstanding qualities Eddie and Chef Dominic display are simply a passing-on of genes from Dominic and Connie.
It was very fortunate for my wife and me when we first dined at Il Michelangelo several years ago. It was very fortunate for my wife and me each of the numerous times we have dined at Il Michelangelo these past several years. My wife and I are very confident that it will be very fortunate for us each time we dine at Il Michelangelo in the succeeding years.
Thanks, Il Michelangelo.
Michelangelo has great food and service! The only thing is that was a bit too loud, but overall the experience was amazing!
We will definitely go back!
Had a 6pm reservation so the restaurant was not crowded. They tried to give us the worst seat in the house tiny table against a wall next to a party of 6 which were the only other people in the restaurant. We had wine, appetizer salad and split a pasta entree and they charged us extra on the bill for sharing. They took it off the bill when we spoke up. Wasn't expecting to have been treated like that. Have to say the food was excellent and so was the wait service.
We celebrated my father’s 86th birthday. The food was excellent and the staff attentive.
We really enjoyed our dining experience. The appetizer and pasta dishes were all excellent. We especially enjoyed chatting with the owner. Service was top notch very attentive. Highly recommend for fine dining and special occasions.
The restaurant is very nice with friendly service and delicious food-definitely would recommend it for all
Experience real Italian food, that, hits all marks.
My Wife and I had a Saturday Lunch, and it was, as usual fantastic.
The food is always mouth watering and the wine list great and priced right. My wife has some dietary restrictions and Dominic Jr was happy to accommodate this. I would recommend Il Michelangelo Restaurant to anyone who enjoys Italian food or just loves to eat. A real GEM!!
Always very good food and service with a fairly priced wine list
I thought the food and especially the homemade pasta was very good... the wait staff was extremely friendly. Great spot.
Words that come to mind: Excellent, flavorful, fresh, pasta..full of flavor, homemade, vast menu, aithentic, friendly staff, cozy spot
This was our second New Year's Eve Dinner at Il Michelangelo. The owner makes you feel like a welcome guest, service is friendly and efficient but not obtrusive and the decor is lovely. All courses were served with just the right amount of time between servings and the food was imaginative and well prepared. I want to return to see what dinner is like on a "regular" night!
Amazing as always! Great customer service, food and atmosphere!
We are from out of town and needed a good meal to start our New Years weekend off right. We pick Michelangelo's from the many offers on Open Table. What a great choice it was. We were met at the door by the owner, Dominic, who could not have been nicer. He escorted us to the table, provided us with a great table, and made us feel so welcome.
Our party of 4 all orders drinks and the Calamari appetizer. The Calamari was light and tasty, simply delicious. Ample portions of toasted bread and spread added to the start of this feast.
I ordered the Shrimp and Chicken in a brandy cream sauce. Others ordered veal saltimbocca, pasta with eggplant and pasta and sausage dish. (I don't remember the names of the dishes, I was too busy with enjoying the taste of the meals).
The entrees were brought to our tables by the great wait staff, who were always there to assist, provide more water, or whatever was needed. We never had to look for them.
The meals were hot and delicious. My chicken and shrimp was great. Light cream sauce, tender cuts of chicken and large shrimp, filled with fresh veggies in the sauce. The rest of our party all enjoyed their meals as well.
The night ended with us splitting a bread pudding (excellent) and the tiramisu, plus coffee. A great way to finish off the meal.
As we gathered our belongings from the coat check, we again had a great conversation with Dominic, who had a cool story for each of the celebrity photos on the wall. He ended our night, with the same smile and conversation that he greeted us with. Such a gracious host.
As you can tell by what I wrote above, we highly recommend Michelangelo's, for any and all occasions.
Decent neighborhood restaurant with a comfortable bar/lounge upstairs. We chose to eat in the bar. Food was okay but nothing memorable.
I work at a nearby business and recommend il Michaelangelo to my clients regularly. Good food, nice ambiance and local.
Excellent and friendly service from the owner Dominick and his staff. We had a party of 5 and every meal was delicious. Small but reasonably priced wine list with some nice bottles.
The food was very good but a little pricey for the size of portion you get. The service was good, until it was time t get the check. I understand they don't like to rush people, which I appreciate, but we waited almost 25 minutes after they cleared our dessert plates to get the check.
What a nice surprise! We were staying at a nearby hotel and this was one of many suggested restaurants on their list. I'm so happy we selected it! I called in advance to be sure our post-conference attire would be acceptable, and in his wonderful Italian accent he encouraged us to come on over. He welcomed us with a big smile, and my colleagues were engrossed in viewing the several dozen photos on the wall of the owner with celebrities over the years - so fun! The service was great in this family-owned business, and the food was fantastic! I had the clams with white sauce and they were delicious. Try the burrata for an appetizer - yummy. Wish we lived in the area - we would definitely come back often!
Great food, great service & very comfortable setting.
The food was amazing
Large portions, attentive staff
Came here for a date night dinner Saturday night. The ambiance and food were good, and the service was outstanding, making it an all around pleasant evening.
This place is amazing!!! The service, food and ambiance.
Food is really excellent! Service is first class. Nice neighborhood
Go to place. Very reliable in all ways! I’d highly recommend this restaurant!
We were visiting in the New York area and decided to drive the hour to Michelangelo's again but this time I was disappointed in the food. I had been dreaming about coming back to this restaurant since our first visit 3 moths ago. Main dishes this time just were not that great to the point we were all wondering if it was the same chef. I order one dish and it had a very strange fishy smell. Took one bit and it was awful. Immediately told the waiter and he went and got me a menu to choose something else. The replacement dish was much better but still not worth the $29.95 price tag not like my last visit at all. I was hoping this was going to become my favorite restaurant to come to when ever in the area but it seems like the food is hit or miss. At the price of the menu it needs consistency to drive this far to go to a restaurant. I did however love the rice balls and the appetizer with the bashamel sauce. Staff super friendly and very professional. Not sure if I would return.
Il Michelangelo's is an excellent Italian restaurant - and that's saying a lot considering how stiff the competition can be in North Jersey. Service, menu, ambiance and wine list are all exceptional
We discovered this beautifully restored turn of the century building. It is a warm and cozy atmosphere inside the restaurant. We were seated by our waiter (Gary) who was very friendly & attentive to our needs. The menu was typical Italian with many specials, some featuring their excellent homemade pasta. Delicious! Can't wait to return with some friends!
In all the times I drove by this place, my
Husband and I wanted a night out with friends to catch up have a drink and a good meal. The atomosphere is beautiful, the staff very friendly and helpful. The owner even came up to us a few times to say hi and to make sure we were enjoying ourselves and to have a few laughs. The food was amazing! And fairly priced. I would highly recommend a date night here.
The food and service was great. I wish I lived closer to experience more of the food on the menu. Next time I am in town that will be my first selection. Bona Appetit.
Easy Friday evening before Labor Day weekend. Really nice service and ambiance.
We had a wonderful dinner Friday, from the excent service to the over the top dinner...just wow, the homemade Barrata salad and Ricotta salad, the homemade pastas all were divine.
We will be back.
The food was outstanding! We ate every bite! The service was wonderful; helpful and attentive without being overbearing. A great meal and good time had by all. Highly recommend!
Everything was Excellent from the service to the food, will definitely be returning
One of my favorite restaurants! The food is amazing and the staff is incredible. Definitely an enjoyable experience.
This was a first time for this restaurant. We had a 1:00 Sunday for lunch. Never being here, we didn't know what to expect. WOW! The Burrata salad was the freshest my wife had ever had. My Spidini was prepared to perfection. As to the main course, the Pappardelle and Cavatappi were homemade and fresh. The service was great . We now have a new restaurant to return to. CHE DIAMANTÉ!!
The food here is truly extraordinary...just like my Italian grandmother used to make, only with a modern twist. The arugula salad was off the charts...whatever they dressed it with was really amazing...flavorful and tangy but not so much that it overpowered the flavor of the arugula. We both had house made pasta for the main course. My husband had the tagliatelle Bolognese and I had the bucatini all'amatriciana. Both dishes were beyond our expectations. Make sure you save room for dessert (we had the tiramisu) since most are made in house. Service is professional and caring without being overpowering. So glad we finally tried this place after driving past it for years.
